I have managed to solve the problem with the home page on my computer. All I did was press the control key and the minus symbol at the same this adjusted the page size and all the missing features were back. Should have done that in the first place.......

I have copied this from another thread which may help.

Please keep your replies in this thread as others may have suggestions to help, the problem is most definitely with your system otherwise there would be hundreds of similar complaints. The 'Report' is  to let us know of something that should not be on Chordie, spam, bad language, racial or any other kind of abuse. etc. and not for replies to questions or answers.

H Doug and a warm welcome to Chordie,

Good on you for not giving in to your debiltation condition, I admire your courage and determination.

One thing I must point out though is that there is a great deal of litigation at present for copyright infringement so we have to take care and normally we can allow just a couple of lines to help make a point. However I shall make an exception in this case as reducing them would detract from the point you are making.

Welcome to the Forum but for someone who has been a member since 2008 you should know by now that Chordie is a search engine and finds songs that are already out there on the internet. The only songs that are hosted here are the original ones written by our Members in the Songwriting section.

If you find songs that are not on Chordie there is information in the Resourses to get them added.

Hi David and welcome to the forum, feel free to ask, answer or add a different point of view.

Nice to learn a bit about you and sorry about the divorce. I found my guitar helped during the two that I went through.

I agree with Topdown and Tubatooter 100%.

I started playing when I was 11 and later this year I will officially become a pensioner (still feel 20 though smile) so I have been playing a long time and the question of strumming patterns is something I have never asked.

I believe that far too many novice guitarist try to play complicated rhythms before they have mastered playing the basic 4 (or sometimes 3) main beats to a song. Those basic beats have to so ingrained that they are instinctive and nothing can distract from them. (One of the exercises I do with my students is to play together a simple 4 beat rhythm and then hold a conversation with them about school, sport or anything else of interest and see if they can hold it). Only then should double time and up stroke rhythms be attempted. Then it comes down to knowing the song well enough so you can hear it in your head to play the rhythm if you are trying to copy it, or to have in mind what you want to hear and play it your own way.

There is writing on the truss rod cover. Does that give any clues?

Hi Whatsuptut and welcome,

As a general rule of thumb whatever chord the piece starts and finishes on is usually the key.
The chords you play will also indicate the key to you.

The key of C will generaly contain: C, Am, F & G with possibly Dm & Em.
                D                              : D, Bm, G & A                    Em  & F#m.
                E                               : E, C#m, A & B                  F#m & G#m.
                F                               : F, Dm, Bb & C                  G#m & Am.
                G                              : D Em, C & D                     Am & Bm.
                A                               : A, F#m, D & E                 Bm & C#m.
                B                               : B, G#m, E & F#               C#m & D#m.

When singing a song the musicians must always play in the key to suit the singer. A singer cannot alter the range of his/her voice but instruments can easily be played in a different key. So always play in the key that suits your voice and use a capo if you have not the ability to play the chords of the key required.

I hope that helps.

Roger

Great job Russ and I am pleased to see that you have chrome hardware on her, she looks gorgeous.

I have just looked at the song: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/www.g … 63933.html and it definitely says it was corrected by you.

By the way the variation on the A chord, by playing the B string open, is Asus2.

You really need to try one. Both my friends Howard and Richard have them and really like them. I find the neck uncomfortable and would not have one (even if I could afford it smile).

We have two 60's Gibson 335's in the shop priced in excess of €2000.00 and beside them is a Tanglewood copy at €300.00. Howard, the owner of the shop, has owned one of the Gibsons from new and played it professionally until fairly recently and he has told me that the Tanglewood feels, plays and sounds just like the genuine article.

Congrats. A NGD should come along with a day off work so you can make the most of the occasion. We get time off work for a new baby so why discriminate against a guitar? wink

Your status here depends on your 'Chordie life'. No other irrelevant incarnation is recognised and the Chordie spirit will grant status depending entirely upon your contribution to it's continued wellbeing.

I hasten to add that sacrifices are no longer acccepted and in some placed have even been made illegal.

The link is working fine for me. Please try again it might just be a glitch that has now cleared itself. If you are still having problems please explain either, what is shown on the screen, or if you left in cyberlimbo.
