You're one ahead of me then!! I can't play drums for nuts ...
Which nuts would they be then; a new Ozzy band or are they to be found in the trouser department? ![]()

Thanks Richard, very interesting. I do play live drums on all my recordings, along with keyboards, guitars and bass, all self taught. I'm not good at any but I love doing it and there's that great feeling if the recording turns out well.
I shall frequent that site when looking for a new drum pattern.
hi Jim.
no it's not the whole song, just the drum pattern. which doesn't go to say that my hearing is right?
should i be ashamed to say that i listen more to the production of a song now rather than the words or the singer? my guilty pleasure would be to sit in on the recording sessions for some of my favourite LPs; Sgt Peppers, Abbey Road, Roots to Branches (jethro tull) close to the edge (yes) and so on, to see how they put their songs together and how they mixed the songs down. it would also be good to be with other musicians, like i used to in the 70's, writing and arranging our songs....ahhh the good old days
i've never been a rolling stones fan but just lately i've heard "satisfaction" quite a lot. then i heard "oh pretty woman" and "satisfaction" back to back on a good sound system and realised the drum pattern is the same! so as release times in the US and UK were (and are) sometimes weeks apart which came out first? to be honest i cant be bothered to look it up, i wonder if one or the other was copying?
It's 10 am new years eve morning here in not so sunny (old) south Wales. It's not as cold as it has been. In 14 hours time it will be 2018, but to be honest, I'm looking forward more to our Sunday lunch that's cooking at the moment...yum, yum!
Peatle and all you colonials down south, Ann and I wish you a happy new year and of course all my Chordie friends all over the world.
Blwyddyn newydd dda I chwi gud
I thought all attorneys (lawyers) were FIEND'S !!! I hadn't noticed the typo till you mentioned it.
Thanks for all your advice guys. CG, I'll email you an MP3 with the words and explanation ASAP.
Thanks again
thanks for replying guys, i wonder would you mind giving the song a listen and giving me a considered opinion as to whether i've gone too far?
I've been asked to do a parody of the Killers "Human." It will be about my local rugby team, the Scarlets and will be mostly about the team and the game of rugby. The initial piece I've got has one or two lines that are on the original. So, as there has been a discussion about copyright recently and it's unlikely the song will be played outside of Llanelli (may not be heard at all) if I put it on Soundcloud or similar am I likely to get sued?
I've read this through and as usual with your writing, you paint a story that one cant help but visualise. Unfortunately it's a little too close to home for me to read it or play it through again as a member of my family is experiencing this whole mess. I can say no more. But well done, great writing as always.
And still no one knows for sure the meaning of Bohemian rhapsody. My own thoughts on the subject are that Freddy as we know was gay and after a particularly bizarre and flagrant life style knew he had something wrong from the early 70s. It was AIDS of course, with no cure at the time. And "pulled my trigger now he's dead"! And that fact I think haunted him till he brought it out well veiled in this song.
Danny Boy is a song I'm asked quite often to perform but I only do the first verse and chorus. As usual with me, I couldn't be bothered to learn the rest. I always thought Goodnight Irene was an Irish folk song?
Nice....will you be tempted to eat I wonder?
Hi Jim.
Just had my first look and listen....certainly up to your usual high standard. I think there's a lot of sentiments in there that we older folks can identify with. I don't think it's complete though? Have you thought about a middle eight/bridge?
A thinking man's song....great.
I never joined FB as I've heard so much about abuse and trolling, whatever that is? Bullying and bad language are rife. Before joining Chordie I tried Yahoo Answers. There was so much of all that going on that I never went back there. I got the impression that the members were all 12 year olds making threats and being big knowing you could never find them to introduce them to Mr knuckle!
This is why I love Chordie, most of the forum regulars are people I'd like to meet....one day? There have been one or two cretins....but that's life.
Hope you all had a great Christmas day.
I wish that were the case in the UK. Too many bleeding hearts and of course government funding cuts. I suppose if someone beat up Theresa May they'd be put against a wall and shot? It's a cruel world
I know nothing about Blu-ray players, but this may help....
My son changed his internet supplier and couldn't make out why he couldn't get eg YouTube up on his smart TV. First thing that came to my mind was, have you typed in the new pass code? It's working fine now. Just a thought.
Hi Bill, Dondra. Sorry to hear about Dondra sister, my condolences. I have to say 2017 was a really as year and I can't wait for 2018 in the hope that it will be better.
For me, I lost my aunty a few months ago, then her husband just a few weeks past and one of my closest friends Wednesday. Coupled with that I've suffered with colds, flu and lost my singing voice twice and in August I took a tumble and permanently put my shoulder out of joint. These are trivial compared to your problems Bill so all I can say is....keep kicking.
Speaking for myself, if it would help anyone, I would be happy to allow it to be published. Ann is now quite open about her experience, which is why I know so much about it. I just hope no-one thought I was writing about myself, I didn't even smack my kids when they were small. On a lighter note.... it's Christmas Eve...nadolig llawen.
Bill, I'm so glad you could see my faux pas and excuse my ignorance.
I was gonna write faux pas but I wasn't sure how to spell it!
I know it's so simple ......I T ![]()
my apologies to Bill and Dondra, I never meant that line as a curse and it's the only part of the song I remember. thanks to Ed for putting me straight on that one. I shall go and change it now.
good for you ctech, a mans true strength is when he can keep his hands in his pockets when all he wants to do is put them down someones throat and pull out their heart (if they have one?)
thanks CG, unfortunately so true. are these men cowards that they cant take out their hostility on someone that can fight back?
Bill, Dondra. We have never met but I know you are wonderful people. I sincerely hope that the new year will bring all the good things you both deserve. I think you've had your share of detritus fall on you this year, so let's hope that 2018 sees the happiness and gladdest tidings of this world surround you . To me it means I wish you all the luck and good things in the world.
Love from Phill and Ann
Merry Christmas
EDITED TO REMOVE A MISTAKE
You could try raising the bridge slightly, or a shim under the string riser ( I don't know the correct term) I wouldn't take the last fret away, maybe try filing it?
Nice to see you posting again Robert, hope to see you more often.
Have a great Christmas and New year.
Hi Peatle. From the first lines I guessed it was Paul?
You wrote "all you need is....pen and paper" well I'll add "and talent." Very good my friend, I just found the music a little irritating! Otherwise brill, you have many talents.
truly fantastic, i also noticed the wear on the guitarists strat. she is a true entertainer. something else i noticed was the drummer was called BILL BRAINSTORM...? not someone we know by any chance?
