Very appropriate that I should choose toninght to play this song. Thunder, lightening and torrential rain outside just now.
I had fun playing it but, as always, I would love to hear a recording from you so I know how you intend the song to be.
Thank you and well done.
Roger
Interesting chord sequence Jeff which worked very well finger picked for me but very probably completely different to how you will record it (please
).
Roger
I enjoyed playing this song of yours Jerome, although to be honest I omitted the instumental. Well thought out and written looking forward to hearing you perform it.
Roger
I like the lyrics and I played it (as a ballad) but would very much like to hear how this song is meant to be, so if you can record it I would very pleased.
Roger
Just gave it a whirl (on guitar - no banjo) and I am looking forward to hearing how it should be.
Roger
I was inreested to see how they worked and I found this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVdmNlpXxEo

PS It cannot drive me nuts................................ I am already there ![]()
Daddycool, for your info the songs in the Songwriting section are formatted the same as those that are trawled from the internet.
idbrn4u, not owning or even desiring an ipad I have no idea how to advise you but if no one else offers help, please drop a line to admin@chordie.com explaining your problem.
Roger
Hi, welcome to Chordie and sorry I missed your earlier message.
I think that the easiest way to do this is to set up a new profile especially for you to share, name it "?????? Brothers" or whatever, so that you can contribute individually to the playlist. If you have existing profiles you do not have to compromise them and you can transfer songs from any existing songbooks to the new joint one. The only problem that I can foresee is that Chordie may not like two people working on the same profile together but I think that this is unlikely.

A Blonde was sent on her way to Heaven. Upon arrival, a concerned St Peter met her at the Pearly Gates. 'I'm sorry,' St Peter said; 'but Heaven is suffering from an overload of godly souls and we have been forced to put up an Entrance Exam for new arrivals to ease the burden of Heavenly Arrivals.'
'That's cool' said the Blonde, 'What does the Entrance Exam consist of?
'Just three questions' said St Peter.
'Which are?' asked the Blonde.
'The first,' said St Peter, 'is, which two days of the week start with the letter 'T''? The second is 'How many seconds are there in a year?' The third is 'What was the name of the swagman in Waltzing Matilda?'
'Now,' said St Peter, 'Go away and think about those questions and when I call upon you, I shall expect you to have those answers for me.'
So the Blonde went away and gave those three questions some considerable thought (I expect you to do the same).
The following morning, St Peter called upon the Blonde and asked if she had considered the questions, to which she replied, 'I have.'
'Well then,' said St Peter, 'Which two days of the week start with the letter T?'
The Blonde said, 'Today and Tomorrow.'
St Peter pondered this answer for some time, and decided that indeed the answer can be applied to the question.
'Well then, could I have your answer to the second of the three questions?' St Peter went on, 'how many seconds in a year?'
The Blonde replied, 'Twelve!'
'Only twelve?' exclaimed St Peter, 'How did you arrive at that figure?'
'Easy,' said the Blonde, 'there's the second of January, the second of February, right through to the second of December, giving a total of twelve seconds.'
St Peter looked at the Blonde and said, 'I need some time to consider your answer before I can give you a decision.' And he walked away shaking his head.
A short time later, St Peter returned to the Blonde. 'I'll allow the answer to stand, but you need to get the third and final question absolutely correct to be allowed into Heaven. Now, can you tell me the answer to the name of the swagman in Waltzing Matilda?'
The blonde replied: 'Of the three questions, I found this the easiest to answer.'
'Really!' exclaimed St Peter, 'And what is the answer?'
'It's Andy.'
'Andy??'
'Yes, Andy,' said the Blonde.
This totally floored St Peter, and he paced this way and that, deliberating the answer. Finally, he could not stand the suspense any longer, and turning to the blonde, asked 'How in God's name did you arrive at THAT answer?'
'Easy' said the Blonde, 'Andy sat, Andy watched, Andy waited til his billy boiled.'
And the Blonde entered Heaven...
you're singing it now, aren't you…??? ![]()
Congratulations from me too.
Roger
Happy Birthday from me too.
Roger
I know that this has caused some concern recently and Per (the site owner) is aware and working on it.
There have now been a couple of changes made and a memory upgrade which will hopefully speed things up somewhat.
To come is a server upgrade in the next few weeks, but there is a possibility that the change over will cause some difficulty whilst it is underway so please be patient.
Roger
Gross alternative: if you're in a pinch (ie at a gig and making lots of fret noise or fingers start grabbing) you can run your left hand fingers over your scalp (unless you just took a shower) and that helps out just as well.
probably only works if you ain't got hair and I am not shaving my head just for that ![]()
I have just learnt that it is Russ's 70th birthday today but he want to keep it quiet so don't let him know that it was I that told you.
Roger
I removed and turned round couple of frets on my Fender that had worn so that the bass strings had the worn side. This was over 12 months ago and is still working fine. It is certainly an easier operation for a novice to perform than cutting and shaping new fretwire.
Roger
Hi Philipio and welcone to the forum,
I have spoken to Per (the site owner) who is aware of the slow response and freeze out that sometimes occurs. There will be some changes made in the next few weeks to try to alleviate this so until then please be patient.
Roger.
Hi Robin,
Nice to see you back with us.
I gave up learning the piano to concentrate on guitar when I was in my teens, a decision still I regret.
Roger
I'd just really love to have an understanding of music theory.
Hi Hannah,
Get yourself along to the 'Theory' section, read the 'Stickys', and anything you do not understand just ask. Both Jerome and Russ both have a better understanding of theory than I and will be only too pleased to help you learn.
Roger
I too have left a message on YouTube but well done.
Roger
