Happy birthday BADEYE!!!

And happy birthday in advance Doug and Mike!

Whew, yes quite a bunch here with parents that seemed to have nothing better to do in February... must be they were all somewhere cold where the sun doesn't shine so much around that timeframe.  wink

Enjoy your birthdays boys!!

Hey Guys,

Zurf, Jerome, Ben and Amy: What do I write? Like songs? Cause I'm not that good yet...

Auxi... write what you're feeling.  Sometimes I just get a thought in my head that's driving  me nuts... I start writing like a crazy lady, making some rhymes and some just random thoughts, then I might get a though in my head for a melody line, mess around with the words more till it makes some sort of sense and figure out what chords will go with that melody... and there you have a song.  I've only been playing 2 years myself, but I've written three songs.  I wouldn't say they're great, or "that good", but they're from me, my heart, and they mean something to me and it feels pretty good to put something out there that's mine.  wink  Just go with it, there's lots of really horrible stuff, so you can't be worse than the worst.  Bonus... you might just accidentally learn a tiny bit of theory in the process on accident, I did, even though I keep fighting it on purpose.  LOL!

Sounds like a speed issue with your ISP - I have cable internet and rarely have this problem.  But... you can do what zguitar says, should work perfectly for you.

Ha ha!  Tandm, don't give up on it just yet.  I think within two years (about the time most people's cell contract is up) 4G will be going strong.  I do think they are pushing these phones out faster than they are getting the service up and running... but hey, you're cutting edge!  You'll be ready before a lot of people.  I don't get a new one for a couple more months.  wink

Hi Nevets - I've had to edit your post, as copyright lyrics cannot be posted within the forum.  See Pete's post for the same lyrics that were removed.  I'm pretty sure the version you've posted and that which Pete posted is pretty well the same thing just transposed to a different key.

I bet someone like Toots will be along soon to help you out with just what exactly is going on with that vid!  wink

Was Mozart influential as a musician?

Off the top of my head, I was going to say Bach... I did a little QUICK research and found:

Mozart said of Bach, "He is the father, we are the children".
Hayden studied Bach.
Beethoven thought highly of Bach's "genius"

I am not an experienced solo acoustic weekend warrior in any way shape or form... but one song that people always seem to like to hear that I can play (as long as I practice a little before hand so I don't screw it up too badly), no matter the age range of the group (from the teens my son hangs with to the baby boomers my Dad hangs with) is "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley.  BEST WISHES BGD, I'm sure you'll do great!

welcome to chordie, Dino is right... it's best not to type your entire email into an open web forum where anyone can view even if they are not members.

If you go to the tabs on the top of the site and click on ARTISTS, you can then type the beginning of the song title and click on search.  Even without an artist name, you can search by song name and this may be the easiest way to search for such songs.

If you'd like, you can check through the heading of Misc. Gospel as well which can be found here:  http://www.chordie.com/song.php/songart … index.html

I didn't watch, only listened as I continued posting away here at Chordie.  I didn't notice any mess ups, although I wasn't looking for them.  Great job!  Needs a little more OOPH in the singing, which I know you can do... but dang, I don't think I could come close to playing that song.  GREAT JOB!

Sounds like fun Zurf!  I'm not much for fishing as you know, although I grew up on the local lake fishing with my Dad.  I especially liked the parts AFTER the fishing trip and that whole dessert first.  Good times to cherish!

Absolutely Deadstring!  You click on report, enter in why you're reporting it like "spam" or "questionable post" or what not... and then click on the submit button.  Most of the mods have reports sent to their email so we know when something's up, as well, when we get here we are notified so we can handle the spam if it's in our section.

We seem to go through phases where there will be a bunch of spam for a week, and then nothing for a while.  The members have been doing a great job helping us out by reporting things lately.  So special thanks to all of you!  I know that it's hard for you to know if we receive it, because you don't really get feedback from your reports... but I promise we do see them and it DOES help!!  smile

And I agree... it's better to have tons of people wanting to help than not enough!  Thanks BGD!  It's great to know you'll be there when we need you!
