What is a bridge

Can't hardly wait for this one

As best as I can describe it, its a instrumental that changes the pace between your main sections of a song. usually where a solo or two get put in.  Here is a link that may explain it better
http://musiced.about.com/od/othermusicg … forms4.htm

One of the easiest ones I can think of that is not Metal & one of my all time favorites is Taxi by Harry Chapin.  I think the main bridge is where he sings Ive got something inside of me..." and then the falsetto comes in w/ the lines "babys so high that she is flying" and then it goes back to the main story.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NX9RjymQ1-4

as for metal  for the possible non- metal head,, this example is "MEGA CLASSIC" Victim of Changes. and here is the song structure as noted in WIKI:  CompositionThe song opens with a fade-in dual guitar passage that flows into the song's main riffs. A linear pattern is followed until the staccato section in the bridge. The song's first main guitar solo follows afterward, it is played by KK Downing. The bridge section finishes an goes into a lighter, more mellow section that soon intensifies. The second solo, played by Glenn Tipton, comes during the heavy section. The song returns to the main riff and finishes with Rob Halford's banshee-like screams. The song is written in the key of B minor

Even if your not a Metal guy,  This is more heavy blues based (on a side note Cheater is a JP song that is heavily blues laden with harmonica added in also) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X9UM4N5sGBs

Hope this helps!

I think that's the point.  You *can't* delay the passage of time.  No amount of money can do it.  Time waits for no man.  The only thing that happens is you end up looking like an old dude trying way too hard, rather than the Frampton case where you look like an old dude that just rocks the house.

lolol , Ill never have that kind of dough so to each their own.  In defence of Ozzy, I kind of think it looks good on him. Hellova lot better than how he looked during his Diary of a mad man toure. fat and out of shape and older than he was.  He can still rock the house. A true showman.  Once he hits the stage its like a reflex.  It just ozzes out of him. lol

I like Framton a lot, but trying to compare him to Hard rockers like Steven Tyler and Ozzy is not even in the same ball park.  If you want other gracefull ageing stars in his park, there would have to be Phill Collins, Eric Clapton, Dick Dale, Page and Plant, and Mark Knoplfer.  All Great but Ill bet you a few of them have had the secert hollywood plactic treatment,, just a bit more subtle.  Eric has downed his fair share of a drugstore in his time as well as some of the others, I think that for Oz and Tyler too look that good(even with help) after the legacy they have left,, Its Da*n Amazing they can still get on stage.

I have been trying to figure wha my little "silly things" are since this post first hit.

I thnk maybe its something not so much physical, but more like the one thing my oldes and closest friends know, I do my best to be the guy who keeps in contact.  This was way b4 FB maee it so much easier.  Certain people I have always benn incomunication with since teh age of 12. talked to them at least every 2 to 3 months, unless at sea then I wrote.  If you ask my wife she would say im a  "friend collector"  Maybe that is my silly liile thing.

WEll looking young and acting young,,, The realization of my age is creeping up on me,, Im not as old as some of you but older than a few others.  I'll be 45 March 3rd.  I still feel young and thankfully dont look as old (so Im told).  I don't act old in my opinion, my wife will remind me that I am acting juvenile (which somethimes I take as a compliment), from time to time.
As Rogers quote says "Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional"

Hell If I caould afford the plastic and lipo Ozzy has had, and Steven is letting the grey show some,  I would be all over it! lol  The wife also . Nothing wrong delaying teh passage of time if you can afford it,,, So long as you dont look like Michale or Jannet jackson by the time your done.

I find it amazing that Ozzy is still up on 2 feet.  Of course his wife is pushing the hell out of him to keep doing it.  Anyone else here mildly currious of the New Black Sabbath cd due out?

Yep I totally believe that. Alive two was about the same. Bob kulick was the guy who did all the over dubs for ACE, he also did most all of Ace's parts on The elder (Ace hated that record and him and Pete would show up totaly wasted for the sessions if they even showed) and I think a lot of Dynasty, and wrote the main licks for All american man on alive 2.  ironically his little brother held the lead guitar position longer than anyone else. (Bruce Kulick)

(Yea im a classic Kiss fan and Ace is still one of my favorites, I love that total Bronx attitude he has about everything)

Astro, I did say that I dug up the thread while looking for something else smile
AEROSMITH - LIVE BOOTLEG.   the great thing is  there were no overdubs and they went and did each song right through. not always a gig with people but recorded Live in one take.

To piggyback on you comment about overdubs,,, Reality check here is --Almost all "live" records, have overdubs.  Sammy is on record saying that even the concert vid for Live with out a net and the CD was over dubed. Eddie didnt like the sound of the actual, so the whole show was re dubbed in the studio whle watching it on a monitor.

Well I decided  that since I also pull a good bit of stuff from UG that I would join and check out their forum.

Well it is litterally impossibel to follow any type of order or topic.  I tried to get into some of the threads and see was going on,, but it is just a very buisy and hodge podge site.

It really mkes me love this fourm/ site and the friends I have made her that much more!  cool

I dug up this old topic while looking for something else,, but I can not believe that after Frampton come alive, (whei is THE record that got the doubble live album sales going) that no one mentioned KISS ALIVE.  It was a HUGE RECORD.

TF
I have to agree with Margerator, who ever was talking to you must love Justin Bieber.  Every one of the bands you mentioned are only obscure to someone whos been hiding in a closet for 40 years, and probably grew up on Pat Boon records.,,,(or like my father in his 70's only likes classical, which is absoultly fine also because many rock bands use the greats for insperation on their guitar and keybd solos) Never once have I heard them refered to as obscure.

Tell that peson to jump in  that nice COLD ocean you have around there.  (I once spent 5 very cold days in NS once with the USN LOLOL)

Cheers cool
