My daughter's boyfriend plays in a duo - it's called Ridgeline. They play pretty much every weekend.
I have no idea how they remember all the words and all the chords - no lyric sheets or electronic screens - just good ol' memory. I am always amazed each time I hear them
(they have a few songs on you tube.)
I know many of you Chordians gig a lot..... you have my total admiration - I am amazed at real musicians like yourselves.
Hopefully one day I will make a Chordie get together and get to play with some of you.( certainly not the vocals
)
anyway - Kudos to all of you performers out there
it is something special to be able to do so !
Jim
UJB and Jan
Thanks for your kind words.
Yes I took mine down because I am at the soundcloud limit. I couldn't load Phill's version without taking something down- it was an obvious choice to eliminate mine.
(Trust me, it saved your ears some anguish
I love having the people on Chordie cover my songs because there is so much talent here - UJB - I d' love to have you cover one - you are an excellent musician as well.
Phill is uniquely talented. I never even have to tell him how I think it goes - he and I are somehow almost always on the same page.
Although I have never personally met him, (although we do connect through e-mail ) it's like he and I are old buddies from way back.
Thanks again,
Jim
My go to songs......
Glendale train (New Riders. Of the Purple Sage)
Come on up to the house ( Sarah Jarosz / Tom Waits)
Heard it in a love song. ((Marshall Tucker)
I shall be released (Dylan)
Galway Girl (Steve Earle)
Follow me(Uncle Kracker)
I walk the line - revisited. (Rodney Crowell)
I'm like he cowardly lion from Oz- if I only had a voice

Phill did a cover on this - I put it on soundcloud - hope you will give it a visit

hope you liked it as much as I did
Jim
Phill was so kind as to record my song.
I loved it - made a video to go along.
Hope you like it too.

This is a link to my recording of the song Teardrops Falling In The Rain on soundcloud that I did this afternoon during the thunderstorm.
I stink at singing and playing but the song seems so relevant (at least to me) as to what is going on in the world and some personal experiences here on Chordie.
It'll have to do until a better version of it gets done.
Hope you find it meaningful ....

Bill and Dondra
I am so sad to hear of this.
Two wonderful people such as yourself deserve so much better in this world.
46 is way too young to pass.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family
Jim
Badeye
Perfect pick for today !
That man plays so smooth - it's incedible.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
ED
That one is super cool and funny as heck - the video makes it even funnier.. Ray Stevens had an unbelievably sharp wit.
Russell
Ray Stevens was always one of my faves- mostly because of his comedic approach. He has incredible vocal abilities - yet makes you smile as you listen to his songs.
Thanks for sharing.
Jim
Jan
I think with your voice it would be a great match - you should do it
Thank you guys !
here is a link to it in chordie format

so I was just messing around waiting for my daughter to come home today and thought I would check out Sunday Morning coming down on youtube
I came across this ---- and got a great education in songwriting history.
for instance.....
Never knew who Sue Brewer was - now I do.
Did not know what the boar's nest was - now I do.
Never knew how these people all hung out as young struggling stars - now I do.
Never knew Willie Nelson was such an awesome guitar player - do now !
There is a series of 5 of these that all play one after another. I totally recommend watching it - it is so intersting.
# 1 does have Sunday Morning Coming Down in it.

hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
Jim
I was thinking about how hard it must have been for the parents of that 8 year old that was killed at Manchester.
I cannort fathom the pain and anguish of losing a child as such ( or any other way per se). So this song came out. Sorry it's sad, but it was just how I was feeling. Jim

I am going to see if I can get through Sunday Morning Coming Down - I like that song a lot
Unlike Zurf and BGD - I never worry about tricky timing bc I have enough trouble just getting the chords close to being right.
I wouldn't even know what tricky timing looks or sounds like !
enjoy the weekend all Happy Memorial Day (Monday) to all in the states, (my son in law just deployed so it's been a rough couple days for my family)
thanks Badeye ! Appreciate the love from the blues after A TOUGH DAY
KEEP EM COMING
Zurf
Sounds very nice.
Jim
I was driving in my car yesterday and Kris Kristoferson sang this song....it was awesome.
If I had any singing ability I would give it a go.
can't wait to hear some chordie folks knocking it out!
JIm
Bill,
I was just thinking of you today- I said hmmmm Bill hasn't been on here and leaving great critiques!
AS far as the colonoscopy - I am 64 and have avoided it totally.
I do not have any desire to have one
I know it's coming - but hey - I ain't in no hurry !
I can't offer you any advice- but I will say - Poor Dondra !!

JIm
FLAWLESS guitar playing ! Beautiful performance, so soothing and relaxing to listen to.
Thanks for sharing.
