hmm I'll tell you I can relate to this problem
I have a 314ce 3 months old, bought an amp for it, Fender Acoustasonic. Annoying static and popping, only on the instrument channel on the amp, not the mic one, tried different cables and stuff, assumed it was the aux input, so sent er back to fender to get a new one and now its doing the same.
So im thinking it might be somewhere in that Taylor Expression System, so Im thinking of sendin er in and seein what Taylor can do about it.

However, radio sound is a completely new and interesting problem..
so I'd say maybe try sending er in?

hmm.. have you tried enabling hard disk mode in itunes (if there is such an option for the touch?)
then drag and drop. Maybe?

Yer not the Ocean - Tragically Hip

well after reading all this, any material that i really want, seems, well, extremely insignifcant to say the least..

I think its really a personal preference thing. I was thinking the exact same thing about wanting a martin, went to the shop played a taylor and fell in love with the tone.  But either way, both good solid guitars.

hmm
What about With a Little Help From my Friends by the Beatles, covered by Joe Cocker.  I mean it definetly has its place is Sgt Peppers, but I think it really contributes to the overall album.  But Cocker's version, with the organ intro and everything, especially the Woodstock version, gives me shivers.

Black Magic Woman by Fleetwood Mac, didnt really go too far, but Santana's version is ridiculous.

Blinded by the Light originally by Bruce Springsteen, made famous with an awesome version by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.

My advice, and although I am not a parent I have some!
Do not care too much about most things.
Such as school. Doing well in school, contrary to popular belief, is NOT the most important thing in the world.
Partying is a GOOD thing.
Curfews are BAD.
Enforcing endless controlling rules on your kids with no real purpose is BAD.
Taking extremely important things like GUITARS as punishment is VERY BAD.

Anyway these are just my, current, firsthand experiences, I'm sure they'll change one day, but right now they seem like solid principles to live by;)

I completely agree with most of the middle ground opinions here, thats perfect. Altho sometimes at shows at schools I like to say things like "Everythings f**ked up as usual" just to push buttons and provoke a bit of reaction, which it often does.

Then i go to work after school and its completely appropriate termniology for everything to be f**king this and f**cking that.

so who knows?

I tell you the first time i picked up a guitar i assumed the same thing would happen.. I strummed the strings.. and all I heard was a bunch of random notes sounding terrible.. took me a couple more years of owning the thing before i really picked it up and started trying to learn..

So, after ordering they told me two weeks, then after two weeks they said three more. Anyway, my parents were in Pittsburgh this weekend, asked them to check out some shops, and but they didnt have the 210e in stock, but they had the 314ce which lists on the site for about 2300, they ended up getting it for 1400! so I'm just waiting for them to get home!

awesome, absolutely love it. your voice had a warm familiarity to it, and your songwriting is very excellent and effective.  Plus i think theres a bit of familiar Canadian annunciation reminiscent of Neil Young?

keep going with this, great work!

for me personally Ive never practiced a scale in my life, never done a drill, or done fret board memorization. Hell ive never done a hand warm up.  because for me that would ruin guitar, I just love playin by sound and messin around figure stuff out and the like.. but as you can see, dguyton loves that stuff, so i guess its whatever makes you happy?

so i would say, budget your time for, first and foremost, whatevers the most fun for you

Thanks guys, I ended up ordering it after reading this stuff. Unfortunately working 30 hours a week ontop of school, I didnt have to time to respond yet.

Kahuna, thanks, Harmony Central was the icing on the cake of reviews on the net for this guitar for me.

Zurf, thanks, yes I agree, I have heard verrrry few negative things about Taylors.

Doc, yes that would be very helpful for anyone in a situation like mine.

Oz, I agree with you, should spend as much as one can afford on a guitar.  Of course being 16, the part time job makes it difficult to have significant money to buy guitars, but this is all I can reasonably spend on a guitar at this time, as I then need to buy a new amp, and then be thinking about cars in the near future haha

Thanks aj1, glad to hear of your good experience with your Taylor, making me all the more looking forward to mine coming in.  And yeah, Im sure Yamaha has some nice guitars, but like I said my costco one just isnt cutting it;)  And thanks for the link, very usefull, learning about humidity and all aswell.

Thanks guys
Josh

1. Yes, you will be able to feel them, but the tips will lose some finer sensitivity (nothing to worry about unless you read braille with your fretting hand)

2. Yep.. well based on experience anyway, doesn't bother me.

3. I don't.. eventually after the initial buildup I find that the actually size and bulk of the calluses go to down and their more smooth and sleek, but still hard at the same time.

4.  I wouldn't recommended any of those, and yeah keep your fingers dry.

5.  Haha they may be annoying at first, but like I said, theyll tame down.  If your like me, its the tips that are callused, not the pads themselves.  So just use the pads of your fingers for any touching you need to do..

haha zeppelin for sure

theirs so many others, but zep takes it.. or maybe the doors..

but yeah i got my spot in the ticket lottery:D haha

well i consider myself a decent intermediate guitar player.. more of a rhythm guitarist as Im usually singing when playing but ican play major minor 7 diminshed chords stuff like that no prob, but a basic B chord kills me.. in pretty much every song i just use a B power chord..

great song, love it!

i fit into two of those categories and im not telling which ones haha
