I'm unfamiliar with this line of guitars. I'll investigate. Is that a solid rosewood top or fingerboard or both?

I already have a no cut away flat-top. M/F lists a 310 for$500 new. Dread model.

Welcome Mickey, There are some good suggestions above. I would have to ask what genre of music are you most

interested in? It might help you early on not only to be familiar with a song but also be energetic to want to learn

and play a song you like. If country is ok for you I recommend Waylon Jennings old song "I don't think Hank done

it this way". A two chord song with a very straight forward 4/4 timing, easy to strum. Waylon recorded it in B and E

I believe, but, you say you'd like to stick to G-C and D for now so try the song in the key of G with a C.

        Hope this helps.       Mike

Bummer! Texas didn't play well tonight. Their bull pen didn't pull through. Walking back to back runs from two pitchers
is not going to win you the game! All in all-- a great series and congratulations to Auxi and all card fans. Wonder if
Albert will stay with the cards next year?      Mike

As somewhat of a baseball fan I was wondering if any one else is following the series. Hellofa game last night. I'm pulling
for the Rangers to win but these teams are really good and setting new records for a World Series so it might not go to
a Texas win. Would like to see them have their first championship.

You know your a fan of baseball when you pass up watching Monday night football for Monday night baseball.:)    Mike

We got some smart people on here from all different trades. Nice to know. The only thing I've been told by plumbers in the
past is that paydays are on Friday and DON"T lick your fingers. Nice to know also. Hope you find the problem Zurf. smile

Good to hear from you Lena! I have only one friend. UH-with a National dobro that is, and I don't think he

would mind possibly trying although he doesn't play much anymore. Will try to contact him and see what

he thinks. Hope all is well with you and yours!       Mike

Getting back to ya Butch. Went to my brothers today and got the Kona back. I really just wanted to look at it

but he insisted I take it back cause he just can't get into it now. So--now I know why I let him use it. It's not

that good of a guitar. Made in China, has absolutely no model# anywhere on it. Has a Kona acoustic sticker

at the sound hole and Logo on the headstock. If set up right it might be a better guitar but ...? This one is

probably their lowest end model. Pretty tho!:)         Mike

Hi Winky, welcome to Chordie. I understand you are a newcomer to the guitar, and I wish you good luck
in your new adventure. Easy songs are a must at first but remember you need to learn how to play
chords before you can play any song. As Jerome and others have said is practice and patience will get
you there. Blue October has 42 songs for you to choose from. Personally I don't know these songs as
per title although I may have heard them, but at the top of the page click on the artist tab and on the
next page click on "B" and on the next page scroll down to Blue October and click on them and then you
can pick a song to work on. Try to utilize the chords Jerome mentioned by looking at the song list and
choosing a 2 or 3 chord song. Some songs only have 2 chords. The rest are 3 or more. Hope you find a
2 chord song in that list but if not surely there is a 3 chord. A "slow" 2 chord song would be the best.

Thanks all for the b-day wishes. Hope you had a good one Kap! I use to woop it up on my b-day but anymore it's
nice just checking out the kids costumes and passing out candy instead of me passing out from too many.:) We
don't get very many kids on Halloween mainly because our town is so small and the chances of the weather be-
ing crappy is good. I'll bet some of you out there in Chordie land get a lot of spooks and goblins knocking on your
  doors?         Mike

How I envy you Doug! Parker? Oh I have heard some stories of that town. Saw some interesting pics that
Some work buddies took while working near there and will leave it at that. Enjoy that ice tea, it's one of
my favorites and enjoy your Arizona adventure.        Mike

Happy birthday to everyone on chordie. February must be a busy month for gettin busy!? So far the list for this month

is Kap, Butchs' daughter, Russell, Doug, Badeye, I think. Sorry if I missed someone. Oh and since Badeye likes the

blues so much how about SRV? Born 10/3/54. Oh and I I'll cover the end of the month 10/31/54. Nothin wrong with

being a geezer Doug, and besides, that gives us at least two things in common.! From dust to dust--- or is it from

diapers to diapers?? smile          Mike

Hey Butch, Sorry for your setback. I don't have much info at the moment but will shortly. I do own a Kona. I bought
it in a pawn shop while working in Texas some 5 years ago. A reddish color(pretty) cut away, acoustic, not a/c. Got
back home after a couple weeks and during a conversation with my brother he expressed a desire to learn guitar so
I loaned it to him. Can't remember the model but it played well enough and was constructed good and for around a
$100 it seemed a good deal at the time. I haven't seen it in 5years! He has put maybe 1 hour into practicing in 5 yrs.

So I think it is time to get it back and re-check it out. I will let you know more. Hope things work.     Mike

Well, now that I'm in a newly formed band we are putting a lot of songs on the table to see what is gonna
fly right away and what needs work. My "work on" list that I'm learning mostly lead on:

      Sultans of swing-Dire Straits
      Only Wanna be with you-Hootie
      Somebody to love-Jefferson Airplane
      White rabbit-""
      Gold dust woman-Fleetwood Mac
      Harden My Heart-Quarterflash
      Brown eyed girl-Van Morrison
      Things have changed-Dylan
      What it's like-Everlast

Got my work cut out!

Best wishes Russell , good for you. Hope you get what you want when you blow out the candles. smile

Those loopers are are a little spendy. Been checking them out and would like one myself. The Digitech
rp355 has a 20 sec. loop. I use it for backing rhythm chords but usually can't fit as much as I'd like in
20 sec. BTW- gotta love those two chord songs!       Mike

Hi Zurf, thanks for your input. I agree with you after giving it the test last night at band practice. Really didn't

notice the clairity and fuller sound much although it's tough to tell without pulling it out and putting it back in

the sound hole which is a pain in the butt cause the strings have to be loose.

However as a feedback killer I think it worked well. We are working on a handful of songs with acoustic and at

no time did it feedback.        Mike

Just wondering if anyone out there has hands on experience with this new product? Purchased

one today at GC. Claims to give a fuller sound, better clarity, more volume and best of all-

suppresses feedback. I have the P-W solid sound hole plug and works well. This new one is not

solid which allows more volume just playing acoustically whereas the other mutes the volume.

Plugged in it does not matter though. Will give this new gizmo a stress test myself but would

like to hear from others.     Mike
