Hi Chordie folk
I'm trying to find a whoopin' 'boy meets girl' (and really, really happy about it) type of song that would go well with male & female voices, one banjo and one guitar. Does anyone know of anything that might fit the bill? Needs to be fairly simple chord-wise smile cheers, Megan

Have a look at my songbook Megan's Toons - I reckon you'd be hard pressed to find an evil F in there!!

Thanks Roger and Zurf - I would be happy to put song on Chordie except it was totally make it up as you go along, with the kids suggesting words! I have promised to return for a CHristmas special, so I'll try and do things more properly then and post smile

Hi Vespa
I know someone who speaks fluent French and plays the piano - I'd be interested in showing her your song if you like - French is no problem.

Well, my first public performance was forced upon me last week and no booze allowed! My 5-year-old dobbed me in to entertain at her kindergarten!!! So, using country strums I made up a song about a toothy, hairy, scary troll with lots of animation and audience participation and everyone was happy smile

I reckon 'Who'll Stop the Rain' by Creedence is pretty easy to pick up and the tune is probably really familiar to you, which I reckon helps. Mind you, I started learning with 'Greensleeves'....!!!! (Actually, that sounds pretty good if you rock it out with a mad/loud 'Tudor' strum smile

Yes, the 'f' chord doesn't start with 'f' for no reason...

If you can find a song that you really have a strong feeling for, you might find yourself being able to play it more naturally - try to find something that you love the sound/feeling of that just has a few chords to start with...and yes, leave the guitar out on display in your natural habitat so you pick it up more often for a play

Re strumming.....it can be tricky when you first start. I think it's very helpful to start with a song that you know really really well, so you can play it as you hear it in your head - so don't worry too much about 'patterns' and what's right - play it from the heart at first. If that makes any sense at all!!! Probably not!!

Hi
I'm only getting an option to 'add songbook', so am unable to add just my choice of songs from someone's songbook as I used to?
Cheers
