I've died and gone to heaven.  The Doors, CCR and Grateful Dead all at once on the same page.  Add Led Zep to that and we've got a party.  We're gonna need more beer.

I have used this one for years.  It works really well.  It comes in a windows version and costs, but well worth it.  You just copy the chopro files in Chordie and paste it to SongBook.  It does everything you want.

It also comes in Ipad format and they are working on an Android version.

Sounds great Ian.  Everything is just falling in place for you.  I'm glad to hear it.  Good luck with the job.  It really makes you feel good when you go into a shop like that and get their undivided attention.  That;s the way it should be in every shop.

If we elect another one like this we will reach disaster faster.

I may make some folks a little irritated over this, but is is true.  As Americans, we are proud of our country and our heritage.  We will fly the flag at the drop of a hat.  But, we are not proud of our leadership and this takes away from the equation.  This is a travesty.  The British, on the other hand, are proud of their country, heritage and have a great loyalty to their leadership, the Queen, in this case.  This is where we americans seem to be missing the boat.  Our loyalty has gone out the window years ago and it will take a strong people and a honest government  for us to gain back our loyalty.  This is kind of what is happening with the Tea Party currently.  The American people are trying to right our government so that we once again may enjoy the luxury of loyalty.
Say something bad about the president and you will have 10 people who agree.  Say something bad about the queen and prepare yourself for a fight.  This is loyalty.

From the heart, bolleauxp.  Very good.  Pulls me right in.

It's epidemic, my friend.  Everytime I call on something like this ,I tell them they need to put info out at their next meeting, to the effect that they need to personally try these features out themselves to make sure they work.  You know they just have a section which sets up these rules and features and they have no clue if they work.  A little internal quality control does wonders, if they attempt it at all.

Kids change their idols fast these days.  There is always someone new to look up to.  That is the way life is supposed to be, I guess.  My oldest daughter was infatuated by Michael Jackson back in the mid 80's when she was ten or so.  We got her a Thriller album, I think it was and a Michael Jackson glove came with the album for Christmas that year.  She was in heaven.

You almost need to be brothers to play like that.

Well, Ian, I didn't necessarily want to sway you either way, or did I, but I have had two good experiences.  What can I say.  I do think it important to be able to feel it and listen to it before you buy, however, as I said, check out as much as you can and go to forums where people actually own and play these guitars and you can get a good idea of the guitar you are looking for.  It is certainly nothing to be ashamed of.  Let us know how you do.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck, Ian.  How far is it to a large city?  Maybe you and your son should have a day out and a little travel.  Maybe call some shops in the larger cities to see if they have some left handed guitars first.  It would be well worth the trip, I am sure.  And a little bonding with your son for a day.  On the other hand, I have bought two guitars ont he internet.  I generally don't do that, but if you really research some good brands and find out how people like them, you might find something nice for a better price.  I know it is a chance you take, but After lots of research, I found some nice guitars that I didn't get to play before purchasing.  Just some ideas.  Good luck to you

I have to agree with Zurf.  I have heard "There are no stupid questions" a lot in my life, and by George, I have heard a lot of them.  That term was coined so that the shy person in class would raise his/her hand and ask questions right alongside everyone else.  And I don't mean to be rude, or anything, but there is ocassionally a dumb question.

I have have always preferred the German beers, not the imports, but the real thing.  And I have had a few English beers in England, ales more aptly, and I prefer those over any AAmericam beer.  However, I do not like most of the European import beers here in the states, so When I drink, I have American these days and I usually suffer through a six pack or three before I have had enough.  I'll drink any kind, if I have to.

You just enjoy your new guitar, bud.  Good luck.

Someone in hear recently said they bought some, but I can't remember what they said about them.  I am interested to see how they are.

I guess you can get it at the ussie site.  You have to join, but it's free.

There should be a sticker or plate inside the guitar with at least the serial number and maybe where it was made.  Of course, it may have come off years ago.  But that site bolleauxp gave you looks like a great place to start.

There is no hard and fast rule for the guitar.  If you are more comfortable and can do it just as fast with your index finger and get back to the original chord shape in between, then that is the right way for you.  There are some people who say, no, it is better to learn it the right way from the beginning, and this is pretty true, but it boils down to what is easier and faster for you.  If, after lots of pratice, it sounds good to you, then you are doing it right.  Even the best players bend the rules.  How do you think they got so good?

You can use any fingers that are comfortable for you, however, it is generally best to try to use the fingers to pick notes which are closest to the chord shape you are playing.  Notice the chord you are playing and try to use the fingers that are close to the note you want to play.  I hope this helps.

That's the way I see it, cameron.  We might add Rod Stewart to the equation also.
