u kidding! I would love to have my guitar signed by some wone who counts! It would be clear coated and then put on a wall! Of course it would have to be a legend to count. B.B. King, Paige, Kirk,, etc.

YOUR DOING GREAT. I HAVE BEEN PLAYING 20 YEARS AND STILL SUCK! I have only played infront of ppl at church and that was in a setting where i did not have to be perfect. I dont sing and I cant play lead.
If you need help with theory,, I suggest you check out Marty schwartz on you tube, he sells an incredable package for that. (and he is fun to learn from) or Doug Marks Metal method. Lots of stuff in both items!
this book is good also. http://www.amazon.com/Arlen-Roths-Heavy … 0028700104
I xeroxed the whole thing,, but it was an earlier version. (pre-scanners!)
It will get you whre you want to be,,,If not you will get some good fundamentals from it.

Here is a great way to get the wood done, I did this with an office door.
If you have a sunny day close by, bleach it. I used streight bleach on the wood, set in the sun. then fine sanded it. it was beautiful.
Oh if you go with paint,,, Im a big fan of auto quality spray cans. Duplicolor is very good. wet sand between each coat. tack cloth. It buffs up super bright and the clear coat is non yellowing.

I have to say from the very first time I heard it, My Neighbor playing her Ovation 12 string around the firepit across the street from our houses. I had to learn,, Took me till I was 16 to really get rolling. I also will say I knew ACE Frehley b4 I knew Hendrix. I also am a HUGE Towsend fan. I think I wore out the grooves on WHO'S NEXT and SCOOP. Hearing Pete, I never really cared about playing lead. He got so much power out of rythm. Then of course all the others previously mentioned.

Hello. This is my first post here. Anywoo..
When I was a Sophomore in HS. My friend started bringing his guitar to school sometimes. I thought it was really cool and all. Next year he started the school's guitar club and I would visit when I could. I got interested and I thought it could be easy even though I had no clue lol. I got to borrow my aunt's cheap acoustic. My church's music director helped me tune it and gave me a guitar book. I learned my first song, Ode To Joy. I eventually bought a beginner electric and I got to learn more with it. Oh and guitar isn't as easy as I thought XD. So I guess I was inspired by my friend.
I still use it with the same strings (they are wearing out bad!) I've been scared to change them because I worry I might not be about to get the bridge done right and I hear rumors of guitar necks snapping (!!!). It's a "Starcaster by Fender". Until I get a job and the money, I'll change my guitar.
I got into guitar a bit later then others(16) probably, but it's never too late I guess.
CHANGE YOUR STRINGS ONE AT A TIME. FIND YOUR FRIEND AND HE WILL HELP YOU. I help anyone with minor stuff. spend 6 bucks on some GHS strings (low cost and Ive been using tehm for 24 yrs) you will probably want .090s while changing strings, clean neck and frets. how toos are all over the internet. BE CAREFULL SOME STUFF ON YOU TUBE IS NOT ALWAYS THE RIGHT WAY! Find a site for a luthier that has basic help hints.

This is probably the stupidest reason to play guitar...
I was inspired by the movie "School of Rock". Yeah, its lame.
Not lame if it inspired you. Its a good movie also.

Once again I'm dating myself, The outlaws song "green grass & high tides". Triple guitar attack, harmonizing leads, and down right tite playing. There are many other guitar players and bands but green grass & high tides is one jammim' song.
I once heard a Fla DJ refer to that song as "EVERY SOUTHERN ROCK SOLO IN ONE SONG" I agree it rocks, Got to see them once when they got back together for a short time. it was around 94 I think. Lets not forget their version of ghost riders also!

Ok I read this http://www.harmonycentral.com/docs/DOC-1351
and this http://www.harmonycentral.com/docs/DOC-1871
but neither of them cover having a multi effects processer in the chain.
I have been running mine at the end of the chain. I will usually set the RP to a clean settting with the chorus and use the amps reverb setting so I can control it on the fly. Same with the stomps. I'll leave the RP clean and hit either my delay or dist or whatever im looking for.
But the main question is,,, Does It really matter?
Thanks.

I have met some big names when I worked as a Bellman for a hotel in Asheville NC. I took Jeff Keith (lead singer of TESLA) to and from a laundry matt(free tickets and backstage pass for that!), I have met Warren Haynes, (he lives in Asheville NC), NOT a musician, but talked with Dom Delouise for about 15 min one night.
I am very good friends with a man named ALTON EDDINS. he is a professional, never made it big, but has played with some big names. He also played Lead Guitar in theband that broke up to becme FIREHOUSE. he plays about every night of the week with his bar band which has great talent. the bass player has played with all kinds of people! the are called the sharkadellics. "The band Al was in b4 was called MAXX WARRIOR. look them up on youtube. its 80 metal but very good!

@ Jerome:
Well I guess I should have said, the base project files will be saved to the external. and audacity will stay on the C: drive. Im not very techie in the whole usb thing.
I still cant figure out wich ports are the high speed ports on my computer. looking at that tree does not tell me a thing as to how they are numbered on the back and sides of my laptop. Would be nice if they were color coded or even a stamped H/S by them.

I found this series and web site on you tube. It has been really helpfull and I think addresses some of your basic questions,,, http://homerecordingstudio.com.au/
then just start checking all the vids out. Some are crap by kids, some are teenagers with a good talent for building a basement studio but have little Vocabulary and sware too much lolol, but I was impressed with what was built.
There is a mountain of info, you just have to filter out what you dont need.

after posting this I dug in the amazon comments and found a U tube that said the same thing.
I also decided to ask the wife for the 802 so I could have more channels and included the RCA cords.
I may have more set up questions after I actually get it.
Thanks for the quick reply.

Re: Hiss when receording direct to PC (5 replies, posted in Recording)
put a compressor inline. evens out your signal and you have gain sustain and attack control. this should help clean it up a bit. I even do this with Microphones. it really helps! or like abouve I saw this for 80 in another thread, http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/MultiMix4USB/
or you could look at Maudio. If you have a XP OS I could sell you a Maudio cheep. Its not compatable with Vista,,, but maybe with 07. I hear it has a xp shell for older programs. or that you can get one.

Zurf--
I amy be a little late in this reply,,, but as to useing your woody pick up (--man that just dont sound right!) I have found that putting a compressor sustainer in the line b4 the computer or the mixer helps to push the signal and of course smooths it out.
