My guess would be that it was written on the banks of the river Avon whilst thinking of his beloved Anne Hathaway, but as this is just a little before my time, I cannot be sure.

HI Kevin and welcome to Chordie,

I assume by your comment that you cannot remember your password and unfortunately, if this is the case, there is no way that anyone else can access it for you.

There is a way round this though. I can change your password without knowing what the original was so I could give a temporary one that you can then change to something you can remember.

If you wish to do this please contact me privately at rogerguppy@aol.com

Any of my songs are available for this project.

Perhaps "Wrapped in Happiness" which involves more Chordians than any other song (until someone takes the challenge and exceeds it) might be considered. I particularly like Helena's 'Cracker and the Ring' which involves four of us too.

Hi David,

Let me say firstly that I do not consider myself an expert on poetry but reading these rather powerful words you have written I felt that they would have had a greater impact if two lines became one and punctuation had been used. To this end I have done just this, however in order to keep the rhyming pattern constant I have also had to slightly re-write what is now the 3rd verse.

This is my personal opinion of a way to improve the work that you have done and no offence is intended, but it would be interesting to hear your views and the views of others

See the fine young men marching off to war,
Brainwashed killers to the very core,
Trained to fight, trained to kill,
Drained of their blood, never to refill.

Sailing ships, flying planes,
Devastation reigns over all terrains,
Seas and deserts are not spared
Broken souls and bodies cannot be repaired.

Old men, far behind the trenches,
Safely sat behind teak benches,
Are the ones who the war declared,
They risk ink, not blood, so are never scared.

Glorious war, in you we delight,
Old men lament; peace has been declared,
The war is over, our profit is being prepared
Amongst our politicians, to be shared.

This certainly is a prayer of hope and what a better place this world would be if everyone took note and lived by it's ethos.

Hi Ark,

In fact a Moderator has more power in his own section than an Administrator. The Administrator status was given to combat the deluge of porn/spam that was hitting us daily and alowed us to get rid of it quickly whever it appeared on Chordie. As the new safeguards mean that very little spam, and certainly none of the explicitly graphic porn, now gets through the Administator position has become rather redundant.

Welcome to the new 'Poems' section.

There is a wealth of untapped material for songs out there and several of our Members are first class wordsmiths so now we have a section where writings can be discussed on a 'stand alone' basis or as a start to becoming a song.

I hope you enjoy this new section and it will become a valuable asset to Chordie.

This new section has been opened especially for those whose skills lie more as wordsmiths or for those who wish to share their incomplete works.

It is only fair to point out that any words posted here do run the risk of having music added to them by other Members but any Member adding music/chords to anything written here MUST get permission of the author before posting the chords or uploading a recording.

As this guitar is only a few weeks old is it a good idea to suggest a self repair. In the UK you can invalidate a guarantee if you attempt a repair yourself and there are very few people around who can solder as good as the manufacturer.

I think that it should be returned to the suppliers but things may be different in the America.

As most of you know I live, with my cat, in a caravan and she is not bothered what the place looks like so you can imagine what sort of state it gets into. For reasons that are not relevant here I have had to keep the place clean and tidy recently and I have discovered that I absolutely hate housework.

Ken you must be a martyr.

You will have to both go into your Chordie profile and in the Privacy part untick the 'Save Username and Password between visits'. It will mean that you will have to log in each time you use Chordie but it will save you posting messages in each other's name and prevent confusion.

Hi Jim and welcome to Chordie,

Chordie is a search engine so no songs are hosted here, they are located in other sites. However you are able to correct errors that you find.

If you go to the song in question and look at the bottom of the page, on the right, in green, it says 'Correct Song'. If you click on this it takes you to a page where you can edit and add to the song. When you have corrected the song it will appear with a message that you have improved the song.

I would always recommend that you add the song to your Songbook first and do all the editing and additions there. This gives you the time to check that all your changes are correct and to see how your changes will appear to everyone else. When you are happy you can 'copy' your corrected version from your Songbook and 'paste' it to the one with errors from the listings.

I had one comment that I was using the wrong chords to a song so I wrote to the guy and it transpired that he was such an accomplished guitarist that he had not realised that you could transpose a song to suit your voice. Larf, I nearly larfed my bilinking head off. lol

Hi Bornholmeran,

There seems to be nothing wrong with your 'smalhans' user name. You will not however find your songbook as it had not been made 'Public' and so it is only accessible by the user  'smalhans'.

I have had to change your password to be able to determine this information so I have sent to your 'smalhans' e-mail address the password I have used. Please change it to one of your own as soon as you have have logged in as 'smalhans'.

Greetings "Chordians",

Well this is a first for me.... not being a writer (music anyway), but I kind of have a lyric that needs polishing and turned into a tune.  I'm thinking that it has kind of a "new country" feeling, but needs work to get it all together.

So if anybody would like to take a whack at it, drop me an e-mail and I will send you the "words" along with a little background so you will have an idea of where the story came from.  Basically I have got a chorus and a few verses, might need some kind of bridge, and perhaps a few lines to tie up the loose ends.

Sorry there is no music for with it as it just came to me this morning, and I haven't really delved into it.  But I am open to anything y'all come up with.  I guess that makes it a "poem"....  for the moment at least.

Thanks and Take Care;
  Doug

Hi Doug,

If I might make a suggestion. In spite of misunderstandings in the recent 'discussion', poems/lyrics with the goal of turning into a song have always been, and always will be, encouraged on Chordie. So why not save yourself a lot of time sending seperate e-mails and post here asking for suggestions.

Hi Evsynator and TDS,

This is obviously not an isolated incident so the best thing to do is to save a screenshot of the rogue page and send it to admin@chordie.com with an explanation.

On some songs, when i try to add them i get to the next page with the chords showing in a different layout,

You should not be getting a page with a different lay out when adding to a Songbook. The only page I can think of with a different layout is the print preview page so, unless you have been pressing the print button in error, details of the difference in page layout would be helpful.
