Hey Topdown, what type of the John Pearse strings are you using and what do you like about them Do they have a nice warm deep sound, or a brassy sound, I'm thinking of some strings for my Martin, but I'm looking for a deep rich sound, and I've never tried the John Pearse strings so I was just curious.

Thanks,

But actually you should thank Riddler, I believe he was the first to post that link sometime back, I just remembered it, so when I saw this post from C-Rod I thought I'd re-post it, so Riddler, take your bows.

I think it has to be in something called chordpro format, but someone other than myself will have to help with you with that, one of the moderators can explain it better than me, hopefully the moderator for this specfic forum can help, good luck with the song!

Yes I've know that feeling many times, but then just as you think your not making progress, you pick up the guitar the next day and "boom" there it is, so keep at it, some days you have it but some you don't, just keep plugging away and you'll slowwly but sure progress, and there will be things you don't even have to think about anymore, you just realize your doing it without thinking about it, so just simply hang in there, it'll all work out, you'll see.

Great Link Wayne

I really enjoyed it, we used to have a bluegrass festival here in NC in a small community called "Union Grove"not far from me and Topdown that I always attented, it was a great time, it lasted for 4 days but my friends and I would stay all week, some of the best memories I've ever had, they crowned the best fiddler players, guitar, banjo as well as other intruments, but the best music was around the campfires at night. I'll never forget that place. it ran for over 55 years drawing crowds of over 50,00, to 75,000 people in a the latter years, it was the place to be on earth at that time. I miss those days, also being an old country boy myself I understood every word they said.  Thanks again for the memories.

Can someone help me with this 145 progression or direct me to a site that really explains it in simple terms, I'm struggling with this. I appreciate any help.

Well, we just got back from going to Winston Salem to see Matt Dylan at Johnny and June's, everything went great, some people from the movie were there, and he played about a 2 hour set, they showed a few clips from the movie, and everyone seemed to have a great time. Wish you could have made it Topdown but I understand, I should have posted it earlier.  The placed was packed, I'll give more details soon, I;m tired now and off to bed.

Jerome,

I've missed something here, so please help me out, excatly what do you mean by a "closed D shape", I've never heard that term, but then there's lots I don't know, so when I run up on a new term I like to find out, thanks.

It's great news that he's free, no easy task to accomplish I'm sure. Thank God that justice finally prevailed, the video brought tears to my eyes, very touching and I'm so happy for him and his family.

I know most will say this is wrong, but I recently had to take about a 3 week break in my playing due to a death in my family, several days ago I picked my guitar back up, and for some odd reason, I seem to play so much better, even my timing has improved, I can't explain it, but it's true. I think 2 months in you just gotta keep playing through and tough it out, but I do think "as Bensonp said" a break can help sometimes, just my two cents worth.
