hi daddy,
in your dinnertime? you show off
ps, does your boss know?
warm regards

Thanks to all for your kind comments,
Noel, if you can think of a word that sits right and rhymes with night let me know and I'll change it.
it actually refers to the singing that goes on when Welshmen have had a good night, and some fine ale, the word we use is "joyo", I don't think I need to translate that one?

THERES A RIFF THAT RUNS THROUGH THE SONG THAT SOUNDS LIKE A C/W BASS LINE; F TO C6 [add f] THERES PROBABLY A NAME FOR THE CHORD, BUT I DONT KNOW WHAT IT IS. OH AND USE A CAPO ON THE 6th FRET ... PLAYS EASIER
I WROTE THIS IN "F" AS THAT WAS WHERE THE CAPO WAS WHEN I GOT THE IDEA
THIS IS A STORY OF THE WELSH VALLEYS THAT WERE FLOODED IN ORDER THAT LIVERPOOL MANCHESTER,LONDON ETC. COULD HAVE WATER
IT'S NOT A BITTER SONG, BUT I FEEL IT'S WORTH REMEMBERING THE SACRIFICE THESE PEOPLE MADE.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER FLOCKING TOGETHER, is that a metaphor for us writers Daddy?
nice one
Phill
ah! memories of my younger days...
you know how to evoke them Daddy, I took both my grandsons to see the Thomas the Tank show in Carmarthen, a couple of years ago. they loved it (so did their grampa) this song does it for me.
keep on keeping on
Phill
Hey Daddy, you been watching too much Dancing on Ice mate! ![]()
nice one, very topical.
you must be writing all the time, where do the ideas come from...oh yeh TV ![]()
Keep rockin'
Phill
PS, I'm glad I can't skate... I'd probably break my neck
I love it.
I think life is a long journey that we should keep on until we find what we are looking for, for you and for me my friend, it was finding that one special woman, and for them it was finding us, but none the less, life is not over just because we have found our soul mates, the journey is a long adventure, and as when your driving, don't go to sleep or you might leave the road. Which means; don't let the love/romance sit on the back boiler.
I usually write my love songs about my wife too, in fact she pops up in most of my songs somewhere.
keep strummin' my friend

Hi Daddy,
In all honesty I never wrote it as a song, but if you feel inclined to musicise it please be my guest
Phill
Hi Slaya,
I seem to be talking to you a lot tonight!
I get the feeling that this maybe heavy rock? I love rock my self, but I try and stay away from the darker side.
Your words are very interesting, and I can see that behind the words you have a more involved story, am I right?
You say that the song is not finished yet, so try and bring out that story line and give us a hint of how you visualise the backing, [pop, country or rock]
Keep Rocking my friend
Phill
thanks Slaya, it's comments like that that make me want to carry on.
nice picture by the way
Phill
Hi Daddy,
Thanks I dont have to try and stay cool, it's freezing here in Wales at the moment.
rock on
Phill
Thank you Slaya.
It is something I guess we all aspire to become, I've been trying for nearly 50 years and still have'nt got there, but I will keep trying
Thanks again

PS, this is not the finished version, if I can get it on myspace I'll post it again

I woke up this morning, it was cold damp and windy [and that was just the wife...joke?] so something made me remember this little poem[?] I wrote last year...hope you like it.
Early on a winters morn
And the moon's already gone
There's a crispness in the air
And there's ice upon the pond
At 6 o'clock the day begins
For some it's time to sleep
But far away, away in the east
Dawn light begins to break
A robin starts his chirping
Begins the chorus of the dawn
The post man turns his collar up
To cross the frosty lawn
And the grass beneath his feet will crunch
Like cornflakes in his mouth
He longs to feel the heat that comes
With summers warming month
And now as skies are lightening
And the mill of life returns
And traffic belching carbon fumes
Eyes water, chest burn
But this is how we live today
And for one hundred years
Will crispy winter mornings wake us
As we make our way to work.
hi roger
songs very rarely turn out the way they start off. women...cant live with them or without them. more complicated that trigonometry
phill
great song, reminded me of my grandmother, she was strong and loving, and shop keepers in town quaked when she came in...phill
HI DADDY,
I LOVE OBSERVATION SONGS, SO WELL OBSERVED YOUNG MAN!
ONLY ONLY ONE THING THOUGH...THE CHORUS AFTER THE SECOND VERSE, SEEING AS IT'S A BIT SAD...MAYBE IT SHOULD READ "OH HOW SAD THEY MUST BE..." SEEING AS THEY GET DEAD?
ONLY A THOUGHT, I DONT WANT TO STICK MY NOSE IN WHERE IT'S NOT REQUIRED [AND YOU SHOULD SEE MY NOSE MATE, OR MAYBE NOT!!!] ![]()
ANY WAY GREAT LITTLE DITTY
KEEP ROCKIN'
PHILL
hi daddy,
yes it definitely puts a different spin on it, but i've had a chance to work on the song now, changed the title to THE ROAD TO PARADISE, and a few lines etc, and i've got it starting in Gm-Dm- Eb- Cm, i use a capo of course, i've just finnished recording it, if only i could get it onto my space. i will post the final version when i've got a minute, hope you'll look at it again and tell me what you think?
phill
hey daddy... you been on the alcopops?
thanks for the comment, sorry we beat you in rugby the other day, must be our turn?
stay cool
phill ![]()
in all honesty, i didnt understand the tabs or the replies...does that make me crazy? ![]()
Does anyone else think that you sound like Aam Faith? He was a singer in the 50's and then turned actor in the 70's [that'll be the day?] good one keep the faith
phill ![]()
