I dont know if this makes me old, but I find I repeat a lot of stuff to my kids that my dad use to say to me when I was a kid. Like "Why are all my tools in the yard!" "Stop hitting your brother" or my favorite, " your mom just got home, leave her alone for 5 mins!"
My ideal morning now is a cup of coffee and CNN. My ideal nite is putting the kids to sleep before my wife falls asleep so we can have "alone" time

i see, so you cant actually "take" anything from Pandora. I have tried limewire but never made it past the set up stage

I saw in a another topic Guitarpix didn't like lime wire, I agree, but use Pandora. what exactly is the difference?

Guilds are sweet! Taylors are even sweeter. I think guilds are cheaper, though still a heck of a guitar

Hi Selso
If you want to save a single track from a multi track recording in Audacity....
Muting each track won't work.
Here's what you gotta do.
Open the Audacity file with the song.
I know this sounds drastic but don't worry the original file will still be there in the folder.
Delete the tracks until your left with one track only this one you save to an MP3 with the name you want.
On the "Edit" tab press the "Undo" button which will reinstate the deleted tracks then you
repeat the process leaving only a different track you want to save to an MP3.
Do this until all tracks are saved individually.
When closing make sure you don't save any changes to the original file.....

I think Audacity works best if you record a track then adjust with the FX to suit then record the next track with the 1st track playing in the background so timing etc is ok then FX that one if needed. Then continue doing the same on each track until the song is built up.
Then export as an MP3 if completed and or an Audacity file for re-editing if needed...

Thanks ark, when I get a chance I'll try this. Everyone at my house but me just came down with the stomach flu, so I'm on puke patrol! Why do they all have to get sick at once?

Early Rancid, Minor threat, Bad Brains. Total Chaos, Fugazi, The exploited, Johnny Thunders, Sham 69,  The Deadmilkmen, 7 seconds, the cromags, they inspired metallica, The Meatmen. Agent Orange.
Wow this brings back memories. I really suggest the Subhumans, the British band not the Canadians, speaking of Canadians Nomeansno
That's just a few I can remember

If you are wanting someone to mix it for you...I would convert each track to mp3 or wav and send the individual tracks...

does that mean recording and saving each track individually in its own project thingy? Meaning record the guitar and vocals, save it, open a new project, record the bass, save it, then send? I cant just send the whole thing like I recorded it? Sorry if this seems stupid

Selso in this forum there is a topic at the top in gray "members willing to help" it lists producers musicians etc that have volunteered to help just pick one and email them and ask if they have time to do this project smile

This may sound like a stupid question, but do I send them the audiocity version or the converted mp3?

I use Audiocity. First I'll record the acoustic guitar and vocals on one track, then I mike my bass amp on a separate track. Since my mike aint that great, I have to go into the effects menu and amplify everything.

So, am I correct in thinking that I can send my songs to some and they can make it sound better? The problem I'm having is when I record more then one instrument  it just doesn't sound good. Like the bass sounds far off or not at the right level. Any help or suggestion? I hope this hasn't been covered before

Cool man! I'm a huge Sublime fan myself. I've got an awesome cd recorded from a party that Brad attended. He casually played about 15 solo acoustic songs... (Saw Red,Don't Push, Boss DJ, Garden Grove, Little District, Rivers of Babylon, Freeway Time, It's Who You Know, Pool Shark, Wrong Way, Mary, Eyes of Fatima, etc..) Great stuff to hear in the raw like that. I hadn't heard of the others but checked them all out and I like smile -Pix

All of that's from the Pouges accept Mia. She rap, which I don't really like, but my sister got me into her. She's on that Slum dog Millionaire Soundtrack. Sublime was one of my favorite bands that I'm getting back into. Superstar Punami is one of my favs

I am kind of getting tired of seeing him on every channel I turn to.  I reckon it'll be that way for at least a few more weeks.

I second that. Loved his music, even saw him in concert. Im more sad Farrah and Ed  McMann died

The pogues I think are classed as Punk folk, or folk punk. So yeah I would say they are punk. And I should have mentioned them too for megs to listen to. Any "best of" would do.

I have been playing for under a year.  I am a bit stuck on strumming.  I find my strumming very loud, so loud it drowns out my voice.  Can anyone suggest what I'm doing wrong and how to make my strumming in the background

Maybe try palm muting?

I realize I havent posted in awhile, there is a recording on myspace. My wife loves this one

Subhumans, Suicidal Tendencies, Circle Jerks, and last but not least the Nobodys from Colorado Springs Colorado. Use to go school with the guitar players brother. Do the Pouges count as punk rock?

Every Sunday they flood the fields with the aceqeius (diches) where I live. It floods the road, my yard, my shed, creates a huge mess. I feel your pain

generally I try to come up with the guitar first,  lately I have these lyrics running threw my head so the guitar part writes its self. Just depends on the rhyme scheme
