I would love to see a picture of your studio !
PS - I am sure Ann is encouraging you, not nagging !
Everyone else -
I have way too many guitars - but I don't care.  smile
I'm not even good, but I like to play them and they are great conversation pieces when friends come over.
I always believe that I have to include a note in my will explaining to my wife not to sell them for what I told her I paid for them !
Here is a flow chart that indicates if you need more guitars.

well written piece of factual history.
I just watched a news piece on the lottery system in the US

it operates basically on this       the jackpots is split   50% to the gov't and 50% among the winners.    however there is a 37% tax on the winners that goes back to the government.

so essentially - it becomes 13% to the winners and 87% to the government.
the odds of being a winner of the mega draw are 1 in 302,575,350

What the farmers should do is create their own 50 50 draw game and split it evenly with the winners.  and give the other half split up to the farmers that participate.

Just think if the government - for just 1 week - instead of using the money for the senseless things they do - just subsidized farmers with those earning.  JUST ONE WEEK out of the year .

Thanks for the great insight -( you as well Phill)

That song has superb guitar playing - sounds great.   (so jealous!)
Well written song.

keep them coming

Jim

Ok here is my version of the song I wrote for this month.

https://soundcloud.com/tigljk/painting- … al_sharing

it's a cute song if you can get past my bad singing  smile

Ok ... so keeping up with my tradition of using all the words in a song - here is a little diddy I wrote this morning.
hard to describe how i played it.....kinda of a root note pick and then strum the chord
probably the hardest song yet to have to use 'em all !  smile

well, it's a bitter cold ( -24 wind chill currently with drifting snow) one here in upstate New York as well ,sipping Crown Royal  in front of the fire and wishing all my Chordie friends a very Merry Christmas (Happy Hanukkah) and a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous  New Year as well.

Thank you to all of you who serve as moderators or do special things for us.
Also hopeful best wishes to all of the former Chordie members who have been a part
of this great platform in the past. Wishing that everyone who can, will rejoin us, even if just to say hello.

Happy Holidays
Jim

Zurf

I played this  video of that song in my Social Studies classes for years - what a remarkable story by the singer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B5on4WK1MpA
and I can tell you that almost without fail, there were tears flowing from students as well.
I look forward to your version !

Thanks Jan

I think it's a real pretty Christmas song. I would like someone that can actually play and sing to give it a go.

Merry Christmas
Thank you for your kind words !

Had some time today and reflected a bit about Christmas and about those people who can't be with someone they love.

Christmas: Home is where my heart is By Jim Kenyon

Verse 1

.

[D]I love the Christmas season, and the ex[A]citement of it all

I'm re [G] minded of what I’m thankful for, and the [D] friends I need to call

[G]Christmas is the season that we [D]share with family

and de[A]spite all the madness,it's still [G]wonderful to [D]me.

.

Verse 2

.

[D]Christmas doesn’t need all those [A]fancy store bought things

The real [G]gift of the season, is the [D] love that Christmas brings

full of [G] many precious memories and [D]stories told just right

but you're [A]on my mind and in my heart, and I'm [G] missing you to [D]night

.

Chorus

.

[G]It’s a chance to be thankful for the[D] blessings we receive

It re[G]minds us of the reasons, that [D]help us to believe

so I’m [G]wishing you a Christmas, filled with[D] memories and love.

O-Oh[A]Home is where my heart is, you’re the [G]one I’m thinking [D] of

.

Verse 3

.

[D]On Christmas, lovely Christmas, may all your [A] dreams come true

may you [G] find joy and laughter, it’s what I[D] wish and pray for you

but what[G] I want the most this Christmas, isn't [D] underneath the tree

it's the [A]magic of Christmas, that can [G] bring you home to [D] me.

Chorus

.

[G]It’s a chance to be thankful for the[D] blessings we receive

It re[G]minds us of the reasons, that [D]help us to believe

so I’m [G]wishing you a Christmas, filled with[D] memories and love.

O-Oh[A]Home is where my heart is, you’re the [G]one I’m thinking [D] of

.

[A]Home is where my heart is, you’re the [G]one I’m thinking [D] of

yeah, [A]Home is where my heart is, you’re the [G]one I’m thinking [D] of

.

So [D] give me good [C]memories that [G] I can hold [D]on to

[D]send me some [C] wishes, that [G]make dreams come [D] true

[D]Please give me [C] Christmas, and [G] give me a [D] reason

[D]to believe there are [C] angels, that can [G]fly me to [D] you

.

Outgo – play last two lines,  a little slower

.

Yeah, [D] give me good [C]memories that [G] I can hold [D]on to

[D]send me some [C] wishes, that [G]make dreams come [D] true

[D]Please give me [C] Christmas, and [G] give me a [D] reason

[D]to believe there are [C] angels, that can [G]fly me to [D] you

Thanks Graham
I love John Prine - one of the great writers.
I just made a couple small lyric changes and  transposed the chords from E to D so it was easier for me to play and sing.
Thanks for the kind words Graham.

Was there supposed to be any sound ?
