another way of selecting a harp for blues is to pick the 4th step of the key you want to play in as southpaws conversion chart points out for E the 4th step is A with the exception of A# for F, i think you would have to find a Bb even tho A#is the enharmonic equlivant of Bb i dont think you will find a A# out there but you might have better luck finding a Bb. i remember the marine band when it cost $1.50 i think they sell for over $20.00 now chauk it up to inflation

The only thing about myspace that could use improvement is the limit of six songs on the player Well i have solved that problem and installed a "Widget"a small player you can put anywhere and I have one on myspace and i uploaded 18 songs of course you have to click off the player that comes with myspace profile and browse thru the songs you want to listen to on the mini player its an extension of a larger player and its available from a new site thats free its called reverb nation check it out  http://www.reverbnation.com/main/music_ … PAodgGJELw

Zurf i have several harps and one of them is a hohner HOT METAL it has a real beefy sound and the reeds are heavy duty its worth checking out

I'm thinking of renewing my love affair with instruments that hoot.  (a category my wife established - it was not a complement to my playing)

Anyway, I tried to pull out my "D" harp and discovered that the case is empty.  I need to replace my "D".  My "C" and my "G" aren't any great shakes either.  I play mostly country and sissified '70's folk/pop music.  I play straight harp, with only a little cross harp thrown in when I make an ill-fated attempt at blues (I play blues bass, but can't get the feel of it for harp - c'est la vie).

Anyway, I would love some suggestions from our resident harmonicats regarding brand and model.  I've never really found a harp that satisfies me, but know there's one out there for me.  The Hohner Blues Harps and Hohner Marine Band are closest to perfect I've found, if that helps to guide you with what I like.  My only complaints with them are that the Blues Harps require a LOT of air, and the Marine Band are a bit harsh sounding.  Yamaha harps play really easy, but they are waaaaaay too high of an octave and make me feel like I'm playing for dogs rather than humans.

doc to play an electric sccustic with more volume invites feedback problems they make a rubber disk that fits over the sound hole and reduces the feedback allowing you to pump the volume up more

ive been using a crybaby for quite a few years, in my opinion its the best but every once in a while you have to spray tuner cleaner on the parts that connect to the plastic notched arm that changes the shift from bass to treble because they will make a noise when you push the pedal up and down and after spraying the parts work the pedal up and down and the static sound is gone,if not spray again and repeat, you can posistion the pedal and hold it where you want to use it like a graphic equalizer and if you stomp the overdrive (distortion) and add some delay it produces a beautiful sustain with delay and you change the tone by moving the pedal up for bass or down for treble i have the hendrix model crybaby.

liam if your writing a song about a person make a short list of the things you like about them or dislike and somewhere in this list you will find a theme that will be the foudation trust your heart and write what you honestly feel its as simple as that all spoken, sung words have a cadence (beat) or time if you choose that will help you phrase the lyrics adding chords produces the body of these phrases and before you can say thankyou for the grammy you have given birth to a song, there are other approaches that work try several suggestions from this thread one of them will bear fruit

LONG LIVE THE MUTANTS!!!

Don't you dare write a song without a B chord on my behalf.  Your songs are much too special to go mucking about with them for the likes of me.  Give me some time, I'll get the B chord some day and then I'll have a whole plethora of Russell Harding songs to call upon.

I have just finished what I call "the advanced artist pages", and the beta-testing has now started.

Despite the cryptic name - this feature will revolutionize the way you all use Chordie.

Depending how the beta-testing goes, it could take from a couple of days to a couple of weeks before this is introduced to everybody.

I do however need beta-tester. No computer experience needed. You just need to give me feedback about what you think: Grammatical/spelling errors, error messages you are receiving, things that are difficult to understand etc. Reply to this message, or send an email to admin@chordie.com, and I will instantly give you access.

song]  this has to be there first or the song wont print if i put [ before song and after it prints

{t:BECAUSE}  (CLOSE THE TITLE IN WITH UPPERCASE BRACKETS)

{c: say what you want}    ( and close it with uppercase brackets)

{soc} (no semi colon before soc)
at the end of chorus {eoc}  not [eoc} and it should be [/song]  not {/song}

one last thing write the words in lower case and the chords in caps like [Bm] the minor is lower case the chord B is caps
