just a musing I had one day.

Friendships come and go
May be cliché’
But true

Being lucky
You will find a chosen few
Whose taste are equal to you.

Life dances on
People we meet,
we greet,
and some show a hasty retreat

No music yet,,, or why else would it be in here?  As you know many of my writings come from things affecting me at the moment. to certain people this is really a tattle tale on myself.  to others  it is whatever you want it to be.

Old transgressions
No longer want to hide
To those agreements
None will abide

Past and present
Starting to collide
All of my paths
No longer side by side

Running, for my life
Tripping and crawling
I hear them calling
TO HELL WITH THE FALLING

My deadly sins are haunting me
Like a head-on collision
Smashing face to face
Into reality

Greatr electrics in the 200 to 400 range, The RG line is defiantly a good one.  Fender Squires, when set up are great, the Epis are nice. Cort  and Washburn, good choices if you check them out and make sure everything is good.

tell us who your influences are and what direction you are aiming for and that helps get you  better feedback.

Well here is my suggestions:
DRIVE INTO THE SUN

At daybreak she snuck out of that West Texas bedroom,

careful not to wake his dog. She made herself the last cup of coffee,

Creeping out to her rusty Dodge, holding on to her prayer, the old engine took three

Tries, and spinning her tires, she took off to nowhere.

The past life was over and a new one had begun.

So she drove into the Sun.

chorus
Driving towards the sun, the future ain’t too clear.

You just know what your leaving

And you hope God will help you steer.

You got to grab that wheel, and hold on tight.

Lines passing down the highway,

it Just Feels Right.

When the time has come….to drive into the Sun.

The war took his leg, and another man his wife.

He didn’t know what he had left, he didn’t see a reason for life.

But he met a girl in College and she helped him over

The pain and then he realized that his time wasn’t done….

You gotta grab that wheel   and hold on tight.

As he held her hand,  it Just Felt Right.

and the time had come….to drive into the Sun.

yes they are driving ,,, into ,,, the sun.

Thank you. If you have suggested changes, go ahead and post them here.  The song has not been recorded, and is just a draft at this point, so there are no bad suggestions.

I totally missed this, now I gotta find the file I saved the changes too! but I will put it up.

Two links from a 20 min  jam session that I edited down.  Cory is pushing me to step out of my comfort zone.  we just went for it, and in part 2 we work on getting quiet and then ramping it up.

Defiantly a big endeavor! looks very nice!

Working on it.  Now im down to adjusting timing.  Cory came up with a pretty cool beat, so we need to try and lock in  together on it.

ON that note, I posted the following to another guitar forum (FB guitar zoom)

We can't all be in bands. As fun as it is, sometimes it's just not there or meant to be. And I have accepted that. Yea I have a few guys I jam with,. Neighbors that play. We are all different levels and styles. Most ppl truly don't sing well (Myself at the top of the list)
And you know what? I keep writing and playing. The last year and a half has been my most expensive and fun time. My inner happiness musically is where I am at. It should be the same for you. Music is made to share, but you must love it for yourself first. You must also accept that maybe not everyone else cares about it as much as you do.

AND THIS IS WHY WE LOVE CHORDIE AND CHORDIESTOCKS.  well just play and enjoy,,, Till I had to follow Steve Issiacs LOLOLOLOLOL

As I sat in front of my screen, many beer and a few shots of Jameson down, in that razor edge of falling asleep and awake. my blurred mind sent my hand to paper and the result is in the poems section.

once again a song written on the verg of falling asleepo where the part of my brain likes to play.  I also am still working on a song that I wrote right after CS6.  jsut trying to get teh music behind it.

I don't know if last nights will make it to a song, but I think its worthy of the poetry section. (Is this a dbl post, ok sort of, not a lot of traffic in that section so whateves big_smile  )

Hope all had a Happy Easter.

As I sat in front of my screen, many beer and a few shots of Jameson down, in that razor edge of falling asleep and awake. my blurred mind sent my hand to paper and this is the result. Today I typed it out.  A few edits  but not many.

Hail Hail Rock and Roll
4-1-18 Original notes @ 0145 AM.

Staring at the TV,
Watching history go down.
Suddenly I turn my head
and I start to look around.

I see before me the remnant
of my fantasy abound.
All my toys
To crank some sound.

Hail Hail Rock and Roll
I may not be amazing but that’s my sound.
Cause when I die rock and roll has
Pumped through my soul

All I ever wanted
Was to be on stage all night
Burn the candle at both ends,
Because that’s the brightest light

Idf all it took to win this dream
was a great big heart,
Idd have it in spades because
that’s what fills my heart

Ive played my heart
So you too can share my dream,
I give this song to you,
I just wish I could sing.

Well TF got it correct.  WAS is the key word.  It is still hanging.  even the guy who is the guitar tech said it is his favorite guitar that has come through the store in a long time.  He has not even bought it yet either.  2800 is a lot of $$ for someone of my ability,,, Heck, I just bought my amp head and that is the single most expensive music item I have ever bought.  before that, it was a total of 800 on my Kramer, case and Roland G20 amp  when I was 16.  So if we tie the 2x12 to the combo my grand total purchase is still hovering around 1000 and change. LOLOL

Buttttt MAN IT WAS SOOO NICE.

Yesterday i made a big mistake.  I went into the acoustic room at my favorite music store, and the sale of the day was $1000 OFF!

It was a Taylor AC. (cant remember the model number but I think its the jumbo type) I never should have touched it! WOW! What a great guitar,, only $2800 after the $1000 discount! LOL but my god it was amazing.

Every note just sprang out from it and filled the room!

From what I read, there is a lot more to Gibson than guitars. It is their non musical interests that are causing the problem. Home electronics. Onkyo, TEAC and Cerwin Vega are owned by Gibson. Along with Philips Home Entertainment and Maybe Pioneer which is part of Onkyo. Guitar sales are still strong.  The fact that their guitars are expensive and out of reach for a lot of players doesn`t help matters.  My opinion is that they should have had an import line with the Gibson name a long time ago. Much like MIM Fenders and Martins. Their guitar sales are still strong. It is home electronics that are leading to their downfall.

they have the import line, the EPI line.  Now with the home electronics, its a fierce competition.  and most of it is with cheap crap.  I ahve wanted to rebuild a nice component system.  its almost impossible.  because to find the good quality of what was a middle of the road integrated amp like I had as a kid, your paying a lot of scratch for.

And I mentiond on FB not to long ago, my neighbor just bought a 1400 reissue LP.  And I got to tell ya, my Tradition I paid 250 for is a much easier guitar to play. (and sounds better!)

Russ, maybe he needs the correct wording, if we go on faith that he is not from the US and is trying.  So far no one has reported that his site is a bougus one.  I am going to try it.
