As others have said, the simple answer is trying to do a recovery or restore.  This sounds pretty fishy to me though, like maybe she installed some malware instead of the real chrome browser.  If she opens Chrome and sees a peculiar page that appears to be imitating google search,  that's a solid clue of malware.  Or, like Doug said... maybe the Chrome OS instead of the browser.  If a restore/recovery doesn't do the trick, do come back and let us know some more details about her system so we can try to help more.

I was having deja vu when you started this map, so I did a little digging into google maps and found this old one from a while ago.  This was when the "picks around the world" was in action and we were tracking where the picks had traveled.  smile

*picks around the world - a package of picks and other items were being sent around the Chordie membership.  People would take what they wanted, add something, and then mail it out to the next person that stated they wanted in on the action.

I originally installed the update from Win 7 to 10 and has some problems with boot time (over 5 minutes) so I uninstalled and reverted back to Win 7 and waited till the bugs were worked out (over 3 months) then installed it again It is working really good now boot time is less then 15 seconds so I will see how it go's.

That's AWESOME Russell!  I'm glad to hear that things are working better for you now!  smile  YAY!

I love Win 10.  After using it for a few months, I had the displeasure of helping someone out on their Win 7 machine.  It annoyed the heck out of me.  Win 10 layout is sooooo much nicer.  There's some good advise above about backing up files (always a good idea with any type of upgrade), and making sure all drivers are up to date, and running the compatibility software first.  smile  Good luck!

Also, keep an eye open on the model numbers at Guitar Center - they have a LOT of guitars that are not the actual model, but some similar model made cheaper JUST for Guitar Center.  Sadly... Martin makes some "just for Guitar Center" guitars.  In fact, last time I was in the local Guitar Center I was hard pressed to find a Martin guitar that was not a "GC exclusive".  It's pretty sad when the guitars in the high end room are out of tune.  Every. Single. One.

Since we both play, I don't think it counts here.  Neither of us goes running around willy nilly buying guitars though, we always talk before purchases.  In the end, it's usually the other one pushing the first to just buy it and stop talking about it!  LOL!  The little things are just little things and don't matter like a new chord book, a better capo, etc... there's always room for more little stuff.

Good idea, and now that you've posted it here... we have to make you accountable.  So... keep it up!  I expect to see you, maybe, next year sometime and hear some new songs!  wink  I'll harass you here and on skype or something to help ensure progress is made along the way.  big_smile

FINALLY!

I think I said that first thing, she needs a pacemaker!  I'm so glad to hear that it's finally happened!  You two need a nice month of just relaxing at home.

While I can't personally feel your pain regarding the insurance situation, I do understand it.  It's ridiculous.

I think the lyrics are spot on, as usual. I am still amazed that you're a history teacher and not an English teacher as you do have such a great way with words.  smile  I agree with Peatle too... you DO have your own sound to your voice, similar to Dylan.  I never considered him much of a "singer" but he's still respected as a singer by me all the same - because he makes it his own - he does it anyway - he makes a song complete with his voice -  as do you.  Keep em coming!

Pretty heavy stuff... not quite my cup of tea, but I'll make sure Jim listens when he has a chance and let ya know what he thinks!  wink  I'm sure if YOU think it's good though, it must be.  You do know your metal.

I hope you make it around Chordie a bit more Scott!  I'm having a good time following your adventures on FB though.  You DID bring at least ONE guitar with you didn't you?  If not... it might be time for a NGD!  wink

Happy NGD! I'm happy to see the Bread Machine making the rounds... you do know, you could use that to make better pizza dough than most places serve right?  wink  Of course, you wouldn't have as much time to go bargain guitar hunting then though.

Hey John!  Welcome to Chordie!  It's always nice to see a new member here!

I see Doug gave ya the basic "take a look around, read the stickies" spiel.  smile  Keep on posting, and soon enough you'll be allow to throw links up into the threads.  This is a deterrent to try to keep the spammers down (they only usually post a few times and then disappear).  In the meantime, you can update your profile with a link to your youtube page or what not.  I noticed the current link in your profile for "website" brings us to an error page.  sad

Thanks.

I watched it on YouTube tonight and discovered I included the same picture of Jim (MKD) twice. Oh well. Too Late to change it now.

On another note.

I received this notice from YouTube today:

Ads might appear on your video.

Copyrighted content was found in your video.

The claimant is allowing their content to be used in your YouTube video.

However, ads might appear on it.

It appears that whoever owns the rights to "City of New Orleans" feels there is revenue potential so they have monetized it. I don't see it going viral and generating a lot of money for them but they have the right to put ads in it. More power to 'em.

I started going through some of the more popular songs that YouTube lists as copyrighted and found that one of Amy's songs, "Dear Future Husband", is pretty high up in the list. I'm guessing sooner or later I'll get a notice on that one as well. Guess we'll find out.

It's pretty common to get notifications like that from Youtube.  I think that's their way around the whole copyright issue... a while ago, they were taking videos DOWN when it contained copyright material (which was pretty tricky since MOST videos on YT have something in there that's copyright). I guess if you have purchased the rights to perform the song, you could fight it to keep the ads off.  I don't have a problem with the ads myself, it's fair IMO.

Strange, the file must have got bunked up when it was uploaded to the computer.  I'm glad the SD card had the original intact!  Glad it worked after all.  At least you can play with the slideshow portion of the software now.  smile

Yeah, the congas did overpower a little.  Didn't JIm or someone say something about putting a pillow in the bottom to muffle them a little?  That might work.  You'll have to play around with that during your group sessions.  smile

Hmmm... the same guys that have a lot to say about coffee have a lot to say about wine.  Me thinks we have some sophisticated palates here.  I like Maxwell House Coffee, I don't like Folgers, I have no aversion to instant coffee.  I lived off Starbucks for a week while staying in a hotel in LA since that's all that was available. I prefer dessert wines... SWEET and not too complicated.

Ice wine (German Eiswein) is a favorite, but super duper sweet, and tends to be pretty expensive. It can have complex flavors going on. It's generally considered more of a white, but can be pink and the longer it ages will often turn more red (and more expensive).

I also regularly enjoy Moscato, it generally has a peach taste to it.  Different brands will be sweeter than others, the slightly drier brands (which are still sweet, but have a bit more depth of flavor) go well with meals, cheese, fruits, or chocolate... love me some Moscato and dark chocolate!  Around here, Moscato is commonly referred to as "Mama Juice" because it's easy to sit and drink a bottle of it after a harrowing day with the kids (I didn't make that up, other friends with kids did). Moscato ranges in prices; the Barefoot Moscato is fine, and under $10/bottle. I've found the more expensive the Moscato, the drier (less sweet) and more complicated the flavors are.

Bully Hill is here in NY.  They make wines ranging from super dry to super sweet and they make it easy to choose with a "sweet-o-meter" on the back of the bottle.  smile  They are twist caps, do make several of their wines available in a box, and are not expensive but are really great wines as our wine connoisseur, Zurf, has pointed out.  "Sweet Walter Red" is my go to dessert wine from them, deep red at that.  Don't be fooled by the sweetness, that concord grape is deep flavor.  "Sweet Walter" comes in a blush (rose) and white as well.  For a lighter sweet pink, Growers Blush is nice, sweet but not quite syrupy sweet.  Less sweet (they call it a semi-dry, but I've seen really dry wines called semi-dry before too) is the "Love my Goat" that Zurf heads for and "Le Goat Blush". There's also a "Goat White". I'm not sure if you can get NY wines down there though??? If you can, there's probably a limited selection.  You should be able to find the Goats and Walters though.

I have to point out that Bully Hill has cool labels... just saying. smile  They're under $10/bottle.

Anyhow, sweet wines are something the wine lovers don't really go for I've noticed. Don't blast me guys... I'm complicated enough that my drink doesn't need to be (ha ha)!  smile  Most sweet wines have a lower alcohol content than average table wines.  If your wife is not a wine drinker, she might enjoy something sweeter.  I figured I'd give you a few ideas there.  I do believe you should try a few out, from dry to sweet.  Try white, blush, and reds. Figure out what you both like and don't like.  My dad hates sweet wines, heads for the Pinot Grigio, but he'll sit and drink a glass of Frangelico. Go figure? He likes Folgers coffee. I should say, I HAVE tried different dry wines as well.  They just aren't for me. I like cold and sweet and prefer wine after a meal not as a part of the meal.

You could pay $25 for a footstool that size.  Considering this one doubles as an electric amp, I'd say you got a solid deal.  smile  I feel your pain on the whole electric sound and such.  I learned once what a lot of it meant, but forgot (due to no caring probably).  Electric is a different beast than acoustic, and it can be fun to get all punk and rocky.  wink  Plus, scales sound good on them (I need to learn those still).

Thanks for sharing these Joe!  It's interesting to hear these from the "viewpoint" of the recorder.  Sometimes it's wasn't quite in the middle, as we were all moving around.  Ha ha!  I like it!!
