Common chord modulation (also known as diatonic pivot chord modulation) moves from the original key to the destination key (usually a closely related key) by way of a chord both keys share. For example, G major and D major share 4 chords in common: G, Bm, D, Em. This can be easily determined by a chart similar to the one below, which compares chord qualities. The I chord in G Major—a G major chord—is also the IV chord in D major, so I in G major and IV in D major are aligned on the chart.

That is sad news indeed, Jeff. On the positive side, as you said, it was pretty quick. And his parents went before him, which is the way it should be also. And as you said, the passing of friends around you gives you pause to reflect on your life and hopefully enjoy what you have.

Finally learning Folsom Prison Blues.  It's actually pretty easy, as it turns out.  And it 's really a fun song.  I'm also learning "I Could Kick Your Ass", by Justin Moore.  That's a real crowd pleaser.  In some crowds anyway.
