I agree, Jerome, I think I would rather use the effects as I am recording as opposed to after.  So am I better off using a pedal or just software.  Remember I am a slow learner in all this.

Keep these topics going.  I am learning here, albeit, very slowly

Effects is the word I was looking for.  I currently use no software for recording.  I'll check some of the programs out.

You got it bad Russell.  Me too.

Hello Dean.  Glad to have you in the forums.

How do you get the different sounds out of your mic, such as reverb, etc?  Is there a software that will change the recording sounds?

Assuming you can hook your IPAD into the USB of your computer, you use the explore function on your computer. Your Ipad will show up as a hard drive and you copy the files from that (after you find the songs on the IPAD) to a directory of your choice on the computer.  If you have a Mac, it may be a little different.

I don't think you can back them up to your Chordie songbook, but you can certainly copy them to a file of your choice on your computer.

I love the big old cars.  I had a 73 Monte Carlo with the long front end.  I loved that car.  Smooth ride.

I see your point about the money aspect, but I also agree with the exposure also.  I suppose it is up the the artist.

Yeah, I remember seeing movies and documentarys on a lot of the old bands and they really did get ripped off.

What is a cajon?  Maybe I want one too.

Excellent Jim. I think the singing, playing and recording are all good.

I have never named mine either. I'm not opposed to it, just never have.

You are exactly right Greatbigdave.  There are no firm rules when making a particular chord.  As you say, if you can make it work with more or less fingers and it sounds good, you are right.

I'll play along.  You got a third from me.

I just looked up this ailment in Wikipedia.  It seems there are a few musicians with this.  Duke Ellington, Leonard Bernstein, Billy Joel, Eddie Van Halen and Stevie Wonder.  Here is the site where it explains how these people see colors for different things.  I feel for you, bud.

You know, I see young people all the time doing nothing but playing games.  That's all they seem to live for.  I make a lot of comments, but keep them mostly to myself.  On the other hand, if they are good, they are good.  It's kind of like wanting to be a movie star in my opinion.  You might be good, but it's a tough business to break into and even tougher to maintain.  I feel that some day that will all fizzle out and then where will he be?  No other experience to speak of.  I do understand that you can tell them differently, because they won't listen, but I suppose you need to support them for awhile until they figure it out on their own.  I imagine the top 1 % may stand a chance for awhile, but it has to be brutal staying at that level.  Just my two cents.

That sounds great.  I met some new neighbors a while back and played a few songs for them early on and they planned a Christmas party and asked if I would bring my guitar and play some Xmas songs.  They had invited a lot of their relatives and friends that I didn't know about until I arrived at their house.  It worked out well.  People like to spring thuings on you sometimes, but it is all good.

I guess an important thing to remember is to teach them songs they like.  Not songs you like.

Yep and the bears, too.

Guitars gfo so well with groups of people, whether it be a camping trip in the woods or a back yard bar-b-que.  They bring joy to groups in all settings, as well you know. There is just something about a guitar in the out doors.

I couldn't find it either.  I know it has a G and D in it.

This happens quite often.  Since this sites pulls all its songs from other sites, we  very often see mistakes and incorrect chords which are attributable to the site the song is actually on. Unfortyunate, but just the way it is.
