i haven't used a phaser for about 35 years! i kept getting comments like "phasers on stun" . last time i used one was on bass as per Phil Lynnot, "waiting for an alibi" Thin Lizzy" brill band. i think i've still got it somewhere?
hope you have many enjoyable jams etc, getting to know how to use them is half the fun
i've been doing a lot of work on my house the last few months so i haven't had much recording time (or the strength, tired all the time) so it's nearly all done now so my goal is to get back to working on new songs and paying more attention to chordie and practicing, my playing was abysmal on my gig last weekend, so more scales and finger exercises. btw i've always used my pinky so i'd find it odd not to use it, though my plucking hand (that's not a euphemism) i sliced my pinky cutting veg for sunday lunch...lots of blood and stings like billy-oh and everytime i use it it opens up again...plasters are no good, trying my best with a pick...dig it?
wooops! sorry, what made me think you were from essex?
Great song. I've unfortunately seen many places like this especially lately as prices are being artificially increased by the government. Also while speaking to the punters I've been privy to secrets that I might never repeat. I think your story revolves around someone with less morals? A great story all the same. Also enjoyed the recording.
I'm on my tablet so I checked and there doesn't seem to be a scroll button. I use my PC and laptop for scrolling and no probs there. You may get better results from an iPad?
I hesitate to raise this but your ancestors could well have been French? As you mention mainly European DNA!!! And you come from Essex....oh dear the evidence mounts up!
Only pulling your leg
I feel envious of anyone that can play classic guitar because I can't, even what I do play is below standard.
My influences began with Burt Weedon, Tommy Steel, the Beatles, Hendrix, Steve Howe, Jeff Beck and so many others that I wish I had a fraction of their talents.
I usually copy and print, that way I can get rid of a lot of stuff I don't want, also edit to fit a page etc. More details if required.
I have 2 sets in my drawer for when they're required. Ashton designed in Australia and a set called Johnny Brooke, who or where they are made is a mystery. I think I have rotosounds on at the moment.
You've hit the nail on the head there my friend. Over the last few weeks I've been working on the house and haven't had much time for the interweb let alone Chordie. Stolen moments here and there just like now, so I haven't had much time for anything but checking for spam. I do like reading and listening to people's songs, not so much covers though. Your sentiments are on the head as usual and the way you've written it are gritty and relevant.
Cool amp. Surely the super deluxe version would have a cooler too? Maybe an ice dispenser? And of course a bottle of JD?
Jandle, I bet your voice with a little uke background would be fabulso
Hi Curt, must be an exciting time for you. I always loved putting a new band together. Good luck.
Made me chuckle! From one old forget to another.....well done.
Jeff....you sound a little frustrated with the weather and the world in general. you've captured a mood felt the world over, it reminds me of when the soviet union collapsed and the Berlin wall came down, there was a feeling of optimism that the human race would finally have a future. then came the rain!!!! when one dictator goes another takes his place. as Pete Townsend said "here comes the new boss, just like the old boss"
there's just one thing left to say....when do we get to hear it?
i love that line..."my desire to write looms" . as a muso and song writer i have to agree, you've captured what makes us write or play. as we go about our mundane lives humming tunes or thinking up words to songs that haven't been written.... yet!

There were 6 new posts on this forum today....all spam. My question is; does anyone read this drivel? As you may know, spam is unsolicited and unpaid advertising. For the most part it's put on by people being paid to slip this garbage into similar websites as ours. I don't know about anyone else but I certainly wouldn't buy any of the dubious products or services they offer. Anyone here who would?

Thanks Russ, but I think guitar playing is like a slimming disease, you feel over weight even if you're not, then you die! I don't think wanting to be a better player will kill me....I hope?
Over use of FX like chorus or phasing on vocals can get a bit tedious. Minimal use for effect is best. Like I have a vocal harmonizer, which works off the guitar chords, over use kills the effect of impact.
Jim, I can't explain what chorus sounds like except that it fills in the sound as does echo/reverb. You will hear it on lots of records especially C/W ballards.
Russ, I checked it out thoughrolly on YouTube before buying. I just wish I could play like those guys.
Beamer, I haven't had much chance to check everything out yet but I will give it a go and let you know my thoughts
Hi Beamer....oh yes I intend to use the distortion and gain function to it's limit. But not on acoustic guitar! That bit of gain and overdrive is enough to get heard during a solo without changing amp settings. I like my acoustic clear with a little reverb and a nice chorus, and this beauty has that in spades.
i know, every time i get a new toy i have to rave about it? so....i saw what appeared to be an absolute bargain on amazon .... donner alpha cruncher, it has just 3 FX; echo/ reverb, chorus and distortion. it's made i guess for electric guitars and though i haven't used it that much yet on electric, it sounds great. so i thought i'd try it on my acoustics and yep, it also sounds terrific on them, love the chorus and adjustable echo/reverb.
just thought i'd mention it.
Bass...has to be McCartney, simple melodic bass.
Chris Squire obviously
The bassist from Level 42
Dave Peacock from Chas and Dave
Guitar....George Harrison
Steve Howe
Paul Simon
Dave Gilmore
Roger Hodgson... Supertramp
Many others too numerous to mention
Who names these birds? We have crow, robin, thrush and some tits...the avian variety of course. The most exciting name here for me is the pied wagtail or shigldigwt in Welsh that translated goes shake your butt, actually it's tail but that's not so funny.
Did you name Harold after king Harold? Apparently his last words were...awtch! I've got a splinter in my finger, I suppose that's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick...? Toowit towoo!
Thank you, William. The English speaking world just grew larger for me, and it seems to be full of people with a silly sense of humour, just like me.
Thanx Jan, so glad to know my sense of humour works in the antipodes....it doesn't work here, I get a lot of funny looks!
