Sara is awesome
that cover of Dock of the bay is fantastic !
That led me to watch about 5 other videos of her. She is awesome.
Elton John said her cover of Yellow brick road was the best he had ever heard.

Neo - that was very interesting. Some very insightful perspectives.
Thanks for posting it.
Jim
That was real good Badeye!
Wow that is great.
I've said this before - I would love to be able to have hung out just one night in a kitchen like that.
Or in Sue Brewers boars nest

Thanks for Sharing---- got to see John Prine last year at Omegang festival in Cooperstown.
being on a stage with a mic stuck in my face, a PA blaring and being expected to "entertain" a crowd is not an enjoyable experience for me.

If I could sing and play - and the people actually liked it - I would probably retire tomorrow
As a teacher and a coach I'm on stage pretty much every day - But istill would love to be able to get on stage and perform.
You folks are blessed with a special talent I will never have - enjoy it! ![]()

I noticed 1. Pressure Points and 5. Stationary Traveller was written by Lattimer - Maybe you Neo or a relative ?
Good one TF
I thought of the chorus last night....
wrote it down
This is what blossomed this morning.
Hope you like it.
Bill
That is a very nice song - first I had ever listened to it.
My family has roots from Scotland - so today I asked him if he ever herd of it - he says oh yeah - our grampa used to sing it all the time.
I never knew that.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
TF
Thanks for the kind words of support.
CTECH -as you can now see I just had to go back and put chorus differently - it was just bothering me. I'm not sure it made it better - but just sits better with me.
I appreciate both comments a lot. Have a safe and Happy New Year.
Jim
P.S. sorry it's such a "downer" of a song to end 2018 ! May better and wondererous things to come in 2019 !!!
Brian
Same here - it said it was missing or moved
Jim
PS Happy Holidays!!
Thanks Phill
detoxing from playing music ?
If so - it must be catching - I have been less than motivated this past week --- just hanging out with my fam and not missing the guitar at all.
Happy New Year !
Looks like fun - and boy does he look like YOU !
Beamer
That's good one!
Jim
Nice one badeye - Happy New Year to you !
Jim
Bill
That was interesting.
I am not convinced it is accurate however.
Listen to the Tommy Allsup interview and the Waylon Jennings interview -
Not at all the same version as Dion's.
I think as I listen to Dion's production, - it seemed to me to be more about him than the depiction of the events.
Some really cool inside information though - I appreciate the link - I watched the entire thing.
The winter there must have been brutal -25 degrees on a bus !
I was able to visit the Norm Petty Studio last year in Clovis New Mexico - actually sat in Buddy Holly's studio chair and held his Strat! ( I have pics if your are interested)
I also was privileged enough to meet and spend an hour talking with David Bingham - who was a back up singer for Holly on all of his early productions ( group was the Roses)
He was the coolest old guy- told me a bunch of really interesting and personal stories. He said when they would drive with Buddy from Lubbock,Texas to Clovis, they would go as fast as they could - always trying to get there before they left. The reason was the time zone change - if they could get there in less than an hour - mission accomplished. ![]()
anyway - very good post - Thanks my friend
Jim
I re-wrote some of the lyric - toned done the religious component a bit - I think its a little more amicable.
Changed a few of the chords and re-phrased the fit of some of the lyrics.
I like it a lot better
Peatle
after watching that I am offering a trade
Donald Trump and every one of his cronies for just Jacinda. What a lovely leader you have.
Thanks for sharing
Jim
Pretty cool ..... I like how it changes from his acoustic to the strat
Greg Lake's Christmas song is one of my faves
Nice one Beamer- and I think I count a minimum of 4 peddles down behind you - I am sure they will get a work out with the new Guitar you have!
Congrats
Jim
That was cool - there were a couple of spots it failed in it if you pay close attention, but did not stop the forward motion. Can't imagine the man hours that went into that.
Thanks for sharing Bill.
Jim
Christmas comes but once a year....thank God!
Phill- Maybe I should've included your line in the song I wrote entitled Christmas comes but once a year ![]()
Nice insight Peatle--- very accurate description.
Jim
Same here Bill - Dominoes
