I would love to go myself.  I belong to the Martin Forum and I see stories every day about people going to the factory.  They all enjoy it .  ave fun and let us know how it turns out.

My regrets also.  It's a tough time indeed.  You can make up for your lack of visiting him recently by visiting and helping his wife and kids.  They would like that, and he would like it.
