i was joking with my brother the other day because he didn't like the idea of naming our family band 'the humbles', apparently that didn't give HIM enough credit. I suggested 'Isaac and the insignificant other people'...

I have a zoom G1 that I bought christmas before last, I think I ended up paying around 80 bucks for it, but then again the store owner's an old family friend so he probly cut me a good deal. All the same it'll be no more than 100$ and I like it pretty well.Actually I'm more of an acoustic player so I only use it every now and then when I feel like messin' around with some AC/DC songs or sumthin, but its alot of fun to use.
Hope that helps,
LR

Re: writers block! (10 replies, posted in Songwriting)
writers blocks hard to shake sometimes... try listnin' to some music that's lyrycs particularly ispire or influence you, then maybe just sit down with the guitar and rattle off whatever comes to mind. Another good excericse is to pick a topic and force yourself to write a song, while it might not turn out great the practice is always good and alot of times I'll turn out a line or two that I end up using later.

thanks yall, and no this ones only officially one day old so you know.... like i said though it really needs a great band to make it shine, and unfortuntely im fresh out :I.
but yeah i kept thinkin' 'lord its hard to be humble ' (dont really remember who sang that one), but I think old david allen coe's voixe would have been perfect. Havent heard him recently but im sure hes gotta be gettin pretty old,,,

Howdy yall, I know yall probly think I've give up on writing altogether, but after a long stretch of schoolwork and revival meetings I finally got time to sit down and write sumthin
In my mind, I picture a really top notch country band complete with twin fiddles and steel guitar, and somebody like David Allen Coe doin' the spoken parts to really pull it off....
Anyhoo here goes:

yeah i know lots of BANDS lol, not sure if you're gonna like em or not....
but here's a few you might be interested in (ive put some song names too just in case you needed em):
Theory of a Deadman (i'd just go for the album 'gasoline', its got the song 'santa monica' on it)
System of a Down (B.Y.O.B, the metro, chop suey)
Staind(everything changes, outside)
Three Days Grace (animals, I hate (everything about you), pain)
Three Doors Down (here without you, away from the sun, be like that)
Creed (what if, my own prison)
Velvet Revolver (thats what slash is doin' these days if that means anything to you)
Gov't Mule (whats left of the Allman Brothers)
Metallica (one, unforgiven, unforgiven II, fade to black, nothing else matters)
Black Label Society (blessed hellride, just killing time)
Black Stone Cherry (lonely train)
And then you know if you like the older stuff check out,
Guns n Roses (sweet child of mine, paradise city)
Ozzy Osbourne (no more tears, mama i'm coming home, crazy train, mr. crowley)
Led Zeppelin (black dog's my personal fav.)
poison (every rose has its thorn, nothin' but a good time, I want action)
cinderella (bad seamstress blues is an AWESOME song)
Lynyrd SKynyrd (Free Bird, Gimme Three Steps, Things Goin' On)
ZZ Top (La Grange, I'm bad I'm nationwide, Gimme All Your Lovin', Tush)
Hope that helps some

'Some high society lady said 'Is you're horse outside?', No maam he's between my legs but your too fat to ride' - American Way by Hank Williams Jr.
'And your headed somewhere, but I've been to somewhere, and found it was nowhere at all.' - A Couple More Years on You by Willie Nelson
'When you're heroes turn out to be assholes, and the light in the tunnel, that your chasin' is a train...' The Song Is Slipping Away by Shooter Jennings
Just a few I like....
And then of course, there is what in my opinion was probly the greatest country song written in the last 20 years (sorry David Allen Coe but I think he just really hit the nail on the head with this one).....
"I like Charlie Daniels, and I love big John Cash. I think Waylon Jennings is a table thumpin' smash. Playin' with Marshall Tucker Band was as good as smokin' grass.... but anybody that don't like Hank Williams, they can kiss our ass."
