Most of those ''worn out'' guitars are actually fantastic instruments. The body may look worn but everything else is top notch. Take Tommy Emmanuels Martin, or Willie Nelsons old classical. Don't forget that not only are these guitars played for decades but it also plays in to the image the artist wants to portray. The grizzled old cowboy would look a bit wierd with a shinny new bright green guitar! lol The punk rocker that wants to sell to his audience will try to show how hard it has been living on the fringes almost homeless. But you can bet that a good luther has had his hands on that guitar and the instrument is tuned and worked just as the musician wants it.

On another note, a quality guitar will ''age''. My Norman sounds much fuller then when I first bought it 15 years ago. If you keep playing it and care for it , the sound will mature. Some artists will not get rid of such a valued instrument.

I am a bodyguard and manage a private securty firm. My work permits me to meet many fasinating people. From CEO's to famous artists, to politicians. It is a high stress job and music is one of my many ways of winding down. I also have a second job that has become more of a hobby. I am a master trainner for dogs,I used to own a canine centre but sold the business. I still train dogs but only by refferal and on my time. Just like when you tell people you are a doctor and they have to ask about a pain they have, when people find out you train dogs they always start the next sentance with '' My little FiFi chews everything I own, what should I do?'' LOL

I do realise that my work is not mainstream yet I am very passonate about what I do. I believe that passion is what causes success in life. I also lived through a bad back injury. As a teenager I paralized ( temporary ) due to a bad hit playing football ( american football ) I damaged the lumbar facets between L4 and L5. Later in life I started to lose all feeling in my legs. After many months of tests we discovered that the pain caused by the facets, was causing the discs to inflame. One disc was pushing against my spinal chord. Untill we found the cause the neurosergeons were baffled because I had signs of nerve damage pointing to a spinal chord injury but there were other symtoms that I did not have that I should have had. So a program of painkillers was used to stop the pain from causing the swelling of the disc. It worked! Better still about a year ago I didn't feel any pain and just stoped taking the painkillers. Haven't had a problem since, My doctor cannot explain the sudden lack of pain but as he said '' Some things are not in our hands, Lets just be happy that for the time being all is well. ''

The exchange rate for Cdn to US is very low right now. Ask your bank and they can tell you. Bring cash in US dollars because the shop in VT might charge you more for the exchange then the bank. You can call customs canada to see what the duties are.....or how long you have to stay in the US before you can bring back an item of that value.

Hey Brad,
Well I just had to stop in at the guitar shop near my house and fell in love with a beautiful Martin series 15 Jumbo http://www.mguitar.com/guitars/choosing … amp;m=J-15 . I think I'm gonna pass on the electric and put a little more from the budget on the Martin. lol
I will have to wait till the new house is bought and we are moved in but there will still be one waiting for me!

I would contact the RCMP ( Royal Canadian Mounted Police http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/  ) to find out how to clear the matter up. You may be stopped by immigration when entering the country if you have any outstanding problems with the law here. Good Luck! You do realize that the drive from Montreal to Edmonton is a very long one?

Ya, I just want to have fun banging out some old Billy Squire or Zeppelin. We are in the process of buying a larger home and I will be building a soundproof room for my sons drums. I might as well get some use out of it.
How the summer been out east? Ours just sucks, either rainning or +35 and very humid. I almost miss the winter....almost.
