Old hardwood, it's getting pulled in favor of new hardwood. There's funiture, just not in there, that's my music room big_smile . Only furniture in there is my guitars, my amps, drums, piano and keyboard and a couple stools. smile

If you can get a few lessons done on a piano about theory, go for it. Excellent help.

Tapping is basically a series of hammer ons and pull offs using your picking hand as well.

That's the lesson that taught me; good luck!

Ok, I play a Casino among others, it's number 2 of my Epiphones so I'll give you a hand, I don't know most of these songs particularly well but I can try and help. Use your amp at a reasonable volume, however you usually play but make sure it's loud enough to really hear yourself.

For a softer sound, try turning the volume on the guitar up (if it distorts, turn it back down) but keep the tone down. The pickup marked rhythm will be better at smooth, buttery sounds but this works with either.

For clean defenition, don't let the guitar distort but get the tone as high as you can until the sound breaks up. Should be nice and quacky, and the strings should define well.

And, finally, for distortion just get everything up as loud as you reasonably can, then play with the tone knobs and selectors. Remember that the pickup marked "Treble" is sharper and the one marked "Rhythm" is smoother.

I love my Epiphone hollowbody, enjoy!

Take the direct link, the link that takes you directly to a blank page with just the picture on it, and put it in your post between these tags: .

2008 BMW F650GS. The 798cc parallel twin. Cool bike. I'll take it out tomorrow hopefully.

I'm in the process of doing chords, my acoustic is on my lap. Kind of about motorcycle trips (again).

Wake up late this morning
Walk out the door, it's pouring
Get back on my bike
And ride to the truth

Ride all day and through the night
As the sun comes up it seems alright
Every time I start to feel this way
I just get my bike and ride for days

From sea to sea and back to find
Long-lost friends and all my old lives
And I'll always come back, to you
On my way back to you.

And every inch of abandoned road
And every mile I ever rode
Anything I ever did, I did it for you
And it was always for you.

Hours and hours out in the rain
And miles and miles past fields of grain
Every ride I ever do, I do it for you
It was always for you

Now there's fifty miles left to go
Before I find myself back home
I only came back for you.
Always for you.

Hey,
It's true, people's personality aren't ALWAYS cultivated by what instrument they play. Seems that way though, huh?
Being a saxophonist in a band, I tend to notice these things:
Trumpets - Loud, whiney drama queens.
Drummers - Most of the time, ignorant.
Flutes/Clarinets - Quiet. Very quiet.
Saxophones - Try to be noticed, but are mostly ignored. Very cynical and some would do better as comedians.
Basses/Trombones - Again, quieter than they should be and ignored.
Violins - Loud, happy people, but still have that "strings player" feeling around them.
Cellos - Concentrate a lot.
Pianos - Perfectionists. Some (emphasis on "some") aren't very likeable.
Sorry if I offended anyone, I am a bit cynical and hard-headed.

When these threads come up I always have to wonder where I fit in, playing the guitar, the piano, drums, saxophone, bass, and blues harp. tongue

My serial numbers for everything-guitars, saxes, drums, pianos, mountain bikes, motorcycles, cameras, computers, etc. are in my web-based email, written on a piece of paper in my desk, and on my iPod in a notes file. Plus homeowners insurance covers my instruments

System of a Down is not freakin' metal tongue .

Metallica is metal. Pantera is metal. Hell, even Cradle of Filth, Children of Bodom, and Atreyu are metal. System of a Down is poorly disguised emo music. Nothing wrong with SOAD, but it's not metal.

And yeah, I'm into old-school metal. Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Metallica, that stuff. Also kind of like the new stuff like what I mentioned.

Blues primarily, but starting to get more and more into jazz...
