i think i know what you mean, rockerchick...

i can sometimes hear music when there's lots of cars around me, it's strange but i can hear a melody coming through from nearly anything if i listen for a while. it's the same principal with the guitarist Buckethead, sometimes he plays really fast, insane shredding, and some might say it isn't music, just noise, but i can sometimes hear a song coming through. i am also pretty good at playing songs using hand-fart, i'll put some videos on youtube soon lol

good thread smile

Songbird and Wonderwall sound great on 12-string ^^
also maybe try Signe by Clapton, that could be interesting

there's a thing that lots of schools have been trying out, i forget what it's called, but my class are having a go at it.

i'll try to explain it:
1. we get into a group of friends with other people in the class (done that part)
2. we all agree on a piece of music we really like (we've chosen Don't Look Back In Anger)
3. we have to play around with it, re-arrange it, learn it etc.
4. perform it to the other groups

so (as the person with the most musical ability in the group), i'm trying to re-write the whole thing out on Power Tab Editor, remembering how good my friends are at their chosen instrument.

it's very mind-boggling and difficult, and i just cannot be BOTHERED ><

any words of motivation for me? lol

once i went into a guitar shop asking to play this fancy Ibanez guitar...
it had a whammy bar that you could lift up as well as push down, and then i remembered something that i saw Herman Li do.

i played all the open strings and lifted the guitar up by the whammy bar, and shook it around a little...

A band I was in a few years ago was named after the tiny rural town the founding members were from - Bucks Pocket.  I liked it because I thought if we ever got huge, our cd cover could be some grimy blue work shirt with a name badge sewn in saying "Buck"  right over the pocket.  Plus, it had the added bonus of people asking where we got the name, what it meant, etc.

So, I guess my opinion of a band name is that it should be something that makes people want to hear the story of where the name came from; it should roll off the tongue; and it should actually MEAN something to the band - or relate to the band in some way.

So, where you guys from?

cambridgeshire.
well that sucks. sad

what do you think of "We couldn't think of a Name"? hmm

it is now "Julia's Song", which sounds better, in my opinion tongue

ok, THIS TIME it won't change xD julia, plays guitar too, so i might get her to join chordie ^^
