Justin is the man, very clear and very good. The guy is a legend, but remember and donate.

No because we want to keep our national identities but if it has to happen then a team of amatuer or junior footballers should be the choice.

Top pro's play too much games as it is.

Sweet Child of Mine by Guns n Roses
Smells Like Teen Spirit by Nirvana

I know epi are made by Gibson and the LP in my opinion is a class looking guitar, i'd hate to purchase a cheap version and be left with a bitter taste with it and as a beginner i have little knowledge of how good it will sound in the shop.

The package also comes with a Marshal 10 w amp which by all accounts is fine to get started with.

Im looking at getting my first electric guitar soon however im sticking to learning the acoustic first. Does anyone know how good this guitar is, i fancy as an Epiphone LP the should sound and play pretty good and i can get in the UK a beginners package for around £160 which is pretty good as its a similar value to a yamaha pacific.

All feedback welcome.

So is an Epi Les Paul any worse sounding than a Gibson? Little brother and cheaper or not surely it still as to sound good

Ok i've been playing 1 month and ive been trying to master 4 songs which are pretty straight forward

Oasis, Songbird - Cracked it quickly as its only 2 chords and a fairly easy strumming pattern
Snow Patrol, Run - A good song for practising quick change to C which i've found difficult but im getting there
Foo Fighters Times like these accoustic - A great wee tune and a gain has a change to c granted from Am which makes it easy
The Pogues, Dirty Old town - Again a few common changes G - C which im finding in a lot of songs so its good practice.

hold on to them tighter

Yip i've tried that but my problem as a beginner is when i hold them tighter i tend to  think about it and lose a bit of concentration them my strumming become erratic

I've recently become obsessed with Rihanna's Umbrella. Once youve played this song once you can't stop.

Mine doesn't sound anything like this http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=5paQ9BwFAgI&NR=1

Hi Clansman,

When I am practicing I always spend some time just playing chords at random, keeping a regular rhythm of course. Write a sequence, but keep changing the sequence or use songs to follow if it helps.

Now for me I am looking for a sequence of chords changes I can use in song writing but for you if you find you stumble on a particular change you can repeat it to get it smooth. Very obvious, but important, is to keep the tempo going, even if you muff a chord (muff a chord and keep going and very few will notice, muff a chord and stop and the world will know).

Thanks roger, sound advice

As a newbie im loking to find some good chord changing exercises.

Any help appreciated.

Hi, at 35 i've taken up playing the guitar and wish i did years ago, ive been at it 3 weeks now and progress is happening slowly but surely.

I've been using a site with free lessons from Justin Sandercoe www.justinguitar.com and find it very good but with the addition after recomendation about chordie im sure i can be an accomplished player more quickly.

Well done for the site its fantastic keep it going, i for one will be a regular user.

edit - Apologies if this is in the wrong forum.
