Blinddog the tabs on this song in the index are not quite right I have played this song for many years both Chuck Berry's version as well as Johnny Rivers and Lonnie mack's(instrumental version) Johnny Rivers version is to the best of my memory in the Key of E major there are only two chords in the song E and B the intro is played by placing your finger on the b string 5th fret and playing both the b and e strings together for the first beat on the 2nd beat you slide your finger down to the 3 fret (D) then play the B string open after that you play note on the 3 string 2nd fret (A) then open G followed by an E on the 4th string 2nd fret to complete the riff the progression is E to B its not easy to describe but after the riff there are 4 bars of E and the singing starts on the last beat of the 4th bar (Long) to B (distance information etc... but there's an extra bar of E "cause my uncle took the" B message and etc....just watch a video of Johnny Rivers and you will get the idea where the chords change smile

I explained this to this member after he emailed me that is was only a G chord and the ////(slashes) were beats to a bar and the numbers 2 and 3 were the 2nd and 3rd bars so its a song in 4/4 time smile

thats a tough request on uke I would look for some videos of Tiny Tim on acid, seriously a uke is fine for some songs and I have watched a few vids of classical music on uke but if your looking to screem on some strings get a strat or a les paul thats only my opinion but ya never know you may come up with a whole new thing smile

Amy that's the best way to start decide what instruments you want on the song first, I have done a number of collaborations with several members it starts with emailing someone from the list and asking if they would be willing to work on this and once you have all the musicians selected you will need someone to produce and mix the project which you will oversee to insure it comes out the way you like it smile

amy you might wish to consider converting those monster wav files to mp3's for a collaboration, Audacity is the perfect tool its free and quick there are a number of free online sites that can host files for download some are yousendit ,mediafire google talk I'm sure there are others so first decide which to use and which file converter works best then select musicians and producers, mixers from the Chordie list and email them and ask if there free to help smile

Thanks Russell, Just one more question regarding the mic cord adapter.  Will the use of the adapter cause or create any distortion in sound, tone or quality in the audio thru the amp.
Thanks, Gerald

C7 is a very usefull chord it can be moved up the neck by muting both E strings if you keep in mind the steps in the C scale and that each fret is a half step so as an example a C7 posistion on the 3rd fret is a D7 on the 5th fret its a E7 and you can include the low E string on this chord (E7) for a fuller sound smile

Butch with any used guitar putting new strings on is a good thing but the bridge may have to be adjusted for string height(distance between strings and frets) with lighter gauges you may have to adjust the way you strum or try a softer pick have the music store check it out smile

I recieved this email and I just had to shake my head its from a would be embezzler in Ghana he claims to be the bank manager and is trolling for dollars of course its a scam but I had a good laugh this is the content of the "offer"

Hello

Pardon me for not having the pleasure of knowing your mindset before making you this offer and it is utterly
confidential and genuine by virtue of its nature.

I write to solicit your assistance in a funds transfer deal involving US$3.5M.This fund has been stashed out of the
excess profit made last 2years by my branch office of the International Commercial Bank of Ghana which I am the manager.

I have already submitted an approved end-of-the-year report for the year 2007 to my head office here in Accra-Ghana and they will never know of this excess.

I have since then, placed this amount on a Non-Investment Account without a beneficiary. Upon your response, I will
configure your name on our database as holder of the Non-Investment Account. I will then guide you on how to
apply to my head office for the Account Closure/bank-to-bank remittance of the funds to your designated bank
account.

If you concur with this proposal, I intend for you to retain 30% of the funds while 70% shall be for me. Kindly forward
your response to me immediately

With Regards,
George Nduka

simply put whatever chord your playing major, minor etc.. play the scale associated with the chord or key your in, as an example if your playing a A major chord you could play a A major scale or a F#minor scale because F# (relative minor) is the 6Th interval or step in the A major scale this is used in many Rock, blues and country songs there are other examples to be sure this is a basic one an easier example is the C chord the 6th interval or step is A so you could play an A minor scale over the C major likewise you could substute a C6 for an A minor because in the key of C the 6th is an A this works for any key smile
