A band that I just can't listen to is Foreigner.  I may take some flak from all the classic rock lovers here but they kinda make my skin crawl.

That's because aftyer their 3rd album (Dirty white boy) they went limp ans started playing contemporary adult oreientated rock ie: soft rock no flack here because after that they did suck. I seen them live on their first album tour they were on the bill with Lynyrd Skynard and Ted Nugent.

But he did not write them alone most of the time they were either co-wrote by Garry Rossington, Allen Collins or Stevie Gaines. And as Ronnie said Man can that boy play.

Is there a way to identify (distinguish) Fender pickups visually ? I have several I've purchased over time, some Standard, some Alnico 3 and some Tex-Mex bridge pickups, that got mixed up ...There are some minor differences in appearance, but nothing that really stands out. If an ohm meter is the only way, where can I find a list showing what ohm each type should be ??? Any help will be greatly appreciated....Thanks,  FiveO

Yu are going to have to use the ohm meter to find the "K" value. You should find the value list on the fender website.

Since you are a Skynyrd fan if you plan to play a lot of bends go with the .009's (light gauge strings) the original set are probley .009's anyways. As to what brand it is personal preference on what brand you like and what works for you.

I can atest to the MK over the Epi because I've played both and I liked the MK better. As far as the agile never seen one until detmam101 bought one. The PRS (MIA's made in America) that I have played are nice but the price tags are to heavy for my wallet.

No. She was delicious, though.

That's an insult to catholics everywhere

Well I do agree with you on the taste of humor and not that I myself am not guilty what I have to say about the subject you would not like. What I will say is check the doctrine of what catholics believe the virgin mary to be and find the scriptures to confirm their belief. After your study please let me know.

I love my strats, but would probably like to have one custom built.  One pickup, one volume.  Nothing else.  Yea, I could take mine apart, but that would be ugly.   hehe

You could build a custom strat for $750.00 and that's a cadillac type with all the bells and whistles.  What are you going to do with the rest of the money.  SERIOUSLY check out David Myka's and David Thomas Mc Naught websites you will see some finely crafted pieces of work.

Thanks to both of you.  I was just trying to figure out an excuse that i could use to tell myself that this thing would help the feedback and hum from my amp, heh.  Just thinking logically if you say it reduces electronic noises, i have noticed that most of the buzz is actually coming from my guitar(ex.  touch a string and the buzz is barely audible, however, when not touching a string it is much louder)so if i put it inbetween my guitar and my amp, wouldnt that help?  sorry if im being kinda argumentative, like i said, i really want this to somehow work, and from all the reviews iv read it seems like a lot of people just stuck it between the guitar and the amp and got results.  Which is why i am confused and am trying to figure out how that is possible.

From what you are describing as fas as buzzing is actually in correct grounding (or earth) in your guitar. You can also buy some shielding tape and tape sheild your pick guard and pickup cavatiy.

To many to list there are some good choices above. Red house stands out as well as La grange, still got the blues any thing by Eric Clapton, the Allman Brothers, Robert Cray, Johnny Lang, Kenny Wayne Sheppard, B.B. King, Albert & Freedy King, Jimmy lee Vaught, John Lee Hooker, Jimmy Reed, Johnny Guitar Watson And a whole lot of others.  If you have a chance check out Red House by Indigeous it is a good cover that smokes, Add Robert Randolph to the list also.

I am looking to buy an electric guitar. I have played both the fender standard HSS strat, and the Epiphone LP Standard plus. I can not make up my mind. I value any and all opinions. Please help.

If I had to choose it would be the strat (American). If it was a choice between a squire or an epi i would buy the epi. But I would first look at the Michael Kelly line of LP type guitars.

I read already a few topics about this acoustic guitar, and I repeat everybody's topic here, what is considered to be "on paper" the best acoustic guitar.
I wrote ON PAPER, knowing that a lot of answers will refer to the most comfortable feeling.

On purpose I didn't ask a question about the price. It's completely hypothetical, starting with the fact that you have the money (even if you don't).

2 categories: JAPAN & eastern made acoustics
                    US & Canada, Europe included
ON PAPER: of course I know that sound and taste are different.
Is MARTIN better than Taylor, Collings .......
is YAMAHA the best "eastern" made guitar?

This is a BOOTLEGER question, no, for everyone. I based my topic on comments in specialised magazines, who did already the work.

#1, Martin has history behind it and standardized the type of bracing system most copied and or derivative inacoustic guitar building. with that said. Do I think their the best no, are they in say the top five yes.

#2 I have owned a Yahama acoustic and it served my purpose at the time, I also currently own an Alvarez Yari. I have played Takamines and they are well made also. So as to which one is best I have no clear yes or no answer.

I have read before but I do not recall where that SRV was the best at doing Hendrix covers than anyone else. Listen to the to recordings of Voodo Chile by both Hendrix and SRV both masterfully done.  I remember the first time I heard the SRV version I was coming back from lunch with a friend and I said wait let me hear this, I thought it was a lost Hendrix version just released. I told my friend the same, then the radio announcer said the same. He also said but it is not that was SRV doing Hendrix.  I had just read about him in guitar player magazine so I went and bought his two albums (cd's weren't out yet) and I was hooked.
