Ayup paco I'm back. Just been messing with the guitar and here's a couple of tunes that are so easy even I can play em. Take a look on the home page under absolute beginner. Hallelujah, by Lenard Cohen. Then take a look under artists at the top of the page. Neil Young. Four Strong Winds. Have fun, let us know how you get on.

Hi paco56. I think the above posts cover just about everything I started playing acoustic in my 20s and soon be 63. Even now I can forget myself and find the thumb creeping towards the low E from time to time. You've probably noticed theirs thousands of songs here to choose from. Ps do you use a capo, very handy tool. PPs, welcome to chordie.

I seem to be on the Epiphone mailing list. I just been looking at their Masterbilt & Bliue Royale collection.  They sure make some fine guitars,  wasted on me I'm sure. But one would look nice hanging on the wall. Also in the e-mail is a great write up/interview with Toni Iommi and his signature SG. Oh well we can live in hope.

Congrats T F. Sounds like a bargain. Enjoy.

Just watched the vid, heard the song. Really well done you guys, I love the artwork, the singing, the whole package. you need to congratulate yourself TIG on those fantastic lyrics.  And of course the performance from Phill is up to his usual excellent standard. Thank you for posting.

Another great piece of work TF. I do think Phill makes a valid point, and I think with a simple tune it could be turned into a good Dylan style song. Thank you for sharing

I was checking out youtube last night, looking at in my opinion the best band in the world ever. The Who. Someone has made videos of live performances and edited out everything but John Entwhistle. What a powerhouse that man was. The Jimi Hendrix of bass players. Please check him out, you may not be into bass guitar, but you must admire the talent of this awesome rock leg end

Did you ever finish this project Grah, any photos? I know you brought one from The Works, a £30er as I did. Mine sounds awful, but I think the problem is with me, not the guitar. I can only play a couple of lines of I will return, by Springwater. You have to be of a certain age to remember that.

Never played a mandolin but I do play a bouzouki. As with guitar theirs loads of different tunings, but to keep things simple I tune to D, G, B, E. Great fun to play, easy to use and a great sound.
I say go for it TIG, it'll keep you amused fot years.

Jerome, I just tought I'd take a look at this thread. I'm so disappointed,  nothing will download. All the work you must have put into this thread and I can't see any of it. It must also be pretty frustrating for your good self.
I hope the problem is sorted soon.

Great lyrics,  haven't got round to playing it yet as I just spotted it while I'm at work. It's on the to do list for tonight. Nice one TIG, and thanks for sharing.

I have a few issues with the new look, most of which have already been discussed, and I feel sure will eventually be resolved. On the positive side. When visiting chordie on my mobile, adverts no longer cover half the page.

When I tried to revisit chordie last night I was told I was banned for unsolisited advertising. I reported the fault and alls well now. Anyone else had any probs?

Me to. I tried a few times today but this is the first time I was able to log into our new home. I only just learned how to use the old version, so I'm going to have a look around.

I just spent some time listening to four of your posts. Time and space. Back to your heart. Fading into the distance and Little Red Book. I must confess,  I have even spent nights in listening to your Neil Young covers and your own works. You make it look and sound so easy, you are a truly amazing artist. Keep them coming.

I always get straight into Chordie as I never log out. It never occurred to me. I figure that it's not confidential,  not like your bank account or something so when I'm done I just leave the site. When I re visit I'm already logged in.
I had a problem last Thursday when I just couldn't get on the site all day, but other than that, everything's fine.

We used to visit a couple of Brits on the island of Corfu several years ago. They were school teachers here in England and would save up enough money to go to Corfu and do more work on the house they were building.
The problem was, that every time they went back to do more work, the building regulations had changed. Making all the work they'd done previously obsolete.  After several years and I would think some considerable cost, they gave up and sold the land.

Thats amazing TF, you'll be like a one man orchestra. Do you have any keyboard experience?

I been watching your weather on the news and wondering how you cope. On this side of the pond, if we have a couple of inches the country shuts down. Stay safe everyone.

Thats a great poem TF. And congratulations on your special occasion. I would think like most of us, you've had your ups and downs, but the main thing is, you saw them through and stuck together. May I wish you both many more happy years.
