Ok this is what I know Jerome helped me get it going so the first thing you have to do is download and setup ASIO4All from the link and if you have done that already open Recorder
1.click edit
2'scroll to preferences
3.select audio
there's a bar on top it has a drop down menu on it is ASIO4ALL as your driver select that and close if you have downloaded asio the authentication will flash have your guitar and recorder on before you do anything or if your just plugging in the mic input with a chord and adapter turn the volume on the guitar all the way, on the bottom right a light bar will indicate your signal is coming in just click on the tab next to edit and select record a track once the light fader appears push record and off you go,if you opened the setup first before downloading asio I'm not sure how that works but once asio4all is in your PC follow the above steps it still may work otherwise you may have to delete the program and re-setup, the folder in your documents still has all the original folders just open it and redo the setup again this time it should work if it didn't work the first time because you had not downloaded asio first ![]()

Re: Propeller Head Beta Testing Opportunity (30 replies, posted in Recording)
I did purchase a interface from Radio Shack for $9.95 that has a mini stereo to usb that I can hook my Y chord from my digital recorder to just one thing you will have to change the preferences in your computer before and test it on the Audacity program to make sure theres a signal before running the setup application and keep the signal on so it knows, have you been able to get a audio signal to Record?
There are a number of stereo to USB interfaces available that would plug into a USB interface.

It would surprise me if you can't get it hooked up to the internal mic, though. Reason is a sequencer, so it's heavily USB/MIDI oriented, so it's not surprising that recording analog inputs isn't quite as intuitive. I'm sure they'll figure it out.

Re: Propeller Head Beta Testing Opportunity (30 replies, posted in Recording)
if its usb focused and wont work with the internal mic how do I get my guitar to input? unless there's a usb cable that has 2 rca jacks to go into my BR-8 its like a pair of your favorite jeans you can never wear maybe the nice folks at propellerhead can provide some answers to my query or riddler can figure it out I'm no good at this complicated stuff regretfully, woe is me ![]()

Re: Propeller Head Beta Testing Opportunity (30 replies, posted in Recording)
I had a problem with selecting the audio input from a list I think the recorder has to be on and you have to play a few notes to send a signal to the mic input on the sound card as you initially choose the audio source so I failed to set the audio signal and got PO'd and deleted the program after chatting with Jerome I decided to give it another shot and its 50% downloaded as I type there is a contact web address I will make use of as soon as I get ready to run the exc application again ![]()

I will have to ask him we spoke a few weeks ago and communicate thru myspace if you go to my web site his picture is the forth on the right,I met Josh at a company that employs handicapped people and mentally challenged individuals I use to pick them up from there homes and transport them to and from work in between I drove the company truck well one day a lady who worked in the front office asked me if I would teach her son I used to play all the company gatherings with my band so I agreed and she brought him to work with her after work in the front office I first met him he had a black fender acoustic and didn't know a chord he told me "I'm gonna be a country star and I want to learn how to play guitar" so the lessons started we became good friends he had and still dose a great country voice he loved all the old Merle Haggard songs after lessons we would suck a few beers and jam it took about a year or so before he was really strumming well and I took him to a Trax studios but the owner could not see his full potential but he did and told me one day "I'm going to Nashville" and he did he paid his dues playing in country bars for nothing just to get noticed and jammed with some name country singers and got a break someone mentioned his name and the rest is history his songs are all original written by him at last message he was in Atlanta touring but when he contacts me I will mention Chordie and find out if he joined I know I asked him to when he moved to Nashville hes really a nice guy he went for the brass ring and grabbed it I will mention it to him next time we chat on the phone or he emails me ![]()

Who on Chordie is signed to a major label? none is my guess most or all musicians who are signed are to busy to be messing with a computer, one of my former students Josh Thomson signed with a major label(Columbia) and he has a page on myspace we talk and chat but he's on the road all the time or in a studio recording his music if there are any on Chordie they sure keep a low profile this is his profile page
