Hi everyone,
i'm a total beginner as you will see...
on the "F" cord, i see 6 dots....where am I suppose to put my fingers?  this goes the same for all the other cords with more than 4 dots.
i also seem to have difficulty with my entire hand (all twisted) when there are 4 dots on the cord. (ie: when i have to use all 4 fingers)
thanks from sunny Singapore.

I enjoyed your "house concerts" tuba, kind of feels like dixieland music we have a group in Port Washington wisconsin that plays with a tuba for bass every saturday afternoon at the farmers market it really sets a nice atmosphere there called the "Dockside Ramblers"and there very good thanks for the link smile

I play Eb tuba along with a guitar player.
He uses a capo on his first fret. Then he is able to play a "D" chord above that and it comes out Eb. Playing a "G" chord will yield an Ab.
This puts my tuba in all it's "happy" keys.
Together we sound like this:

I remember Hoyt Axton because in Los Angles I used to sing with a group and we were on the same bill that nignt, this was long before he grew a beard or recorded "Greenback Dollar" his hit song and he went on to act in a few wierd flicks with gremlin goonies or something like that I was with the "Chambers Brothers" at the time smile

I listened to this again the mix is great but there is one small bit of noise at 1:13 to 1:14 into the song it sounds like a bump on the microphone I dont know if it was my pc or the recording but if it is the recording just open it in audacity and at that point highlight it and click the edit tab and select "silence" for that second but other then that it sounds really good I listened to it several times at that point and each time the noise occured so check it out stephen but good edit Randy smile

you have to follow some progression and play the maj7 for the duration of the beats that it calls for depending on the time its written in, it can be strummed or played like a arpeggio and just as a bass has to change notes for the next chord so dose the guitar or any stringed instrument smile

Stephen both songs were musically executed well there may be a little distortion on them but that can be adjusted by lowering the volume and I would use the equalizer to add a little more bass and accent the highs a little more there seems to be to much mid range volume, and I would cut down on the reverb, but Tears in Heaven was pleasent to listen to your guitar work was very nice smile

Those were some very nice words you came up with Jeff and I will be working on adding vocals and lead guitar for this song later and Roger will assemble the tracks and choose what he feels is best because I think Arkady may be adding something of his own so it will be a true chordie colllaboration and hopefully more will follow smile

All major 7th are 1357 or in c it would be c e g b  in the other keys you have to convert the sharps and flats by first useing the formula for a major scale eg. whole whole whole half whole whole whole half steps and in any chord the notes can be rearranged or inverted so c e g b could be expressed as g b e c or any combination smile

i'm new to playing chords. so what i need to know is if playing cmaj the root being c on the a string what is the determining factor to choose the next note of that or any others i.e. f,d,e. i have played string bass more of my life and now learning to play guitar.
