Pedr, to echo your last line; DELIGHTFUL.

I first learned of Arthur in primary school around age 5-6. It was in Welsh so I don't think I understood it much. As time went by I began reading all I could about his legend, the fiction and the "apparently" true story. The legend goes that he was born in Carmarthen during the time of the Roman occupation. Carmarthen being just 21 miles from here. That town is well known for flooding, well at least the land on the flat where the river Towi passes through. The main town is on the hill where the castle stands. The oak tree as legend states will prevent the town from flooding was enchanted by Merlin (or Myrddyn in Welsh) to the enchantment "Carmarthen will not flood while this tree stands" the tree is now homed in the local museum. Merlin took Arthur under his wing and guided him to be king of all Britain. The story I referred to earlier mentions that Arthur and his army lay asleep in a cave and are ready to rise and defend Wales from invasion. They must have slept through the Norman invasion and Hitlers bombs.

Pedr, were you telling my story? I can relate to every word. After my divorce I left town to form a group with a friend and spent a lost weekend of booze and women until I came to my senses and returned home to meet Ann and settle down and that was 46 years ago and I'm still here with no intention to leave.
Pedr you are a brilliant pensman, you have my respect and admiration for the way you put words together, and this poem proves it without a doubt. I also enjoyed the short story preface. What a talent you have.

I call that the "My Sweet Lord" syndrome. Just imagine for a moment how many songs use the 3 chord trick. In the fifty's how many songs used C-Am-F-G? Nearly all of them. Status Quo are one of my favourite bands, how many tracks are 12 bar blues? To me it's the melody line you sing above the chords, after all there are only so many chords you can use regardless of the 12 keys available, use of a capo the same shape, (eg: G,) can be played up the fingerboard to play A or B-or C as you will know. If you modify your vocal/melody line it will be a completely different song, I've done it hundreds of times. Alternatively offer it to someone else to put a different spin on it. I hope I've given you some help.

When I was still performing I had 2 mics; a Beyer Dynamic which I used and a Sure PG48 for any Jack'n'ape that fancied they could sing or to make announcements. The last thing you'd want is for some Karaoke champ holding it out at arms length and dropping it on the floor! Sounds like the Temu mic is ideal for that?

Thanks for making it easier for me to hear this wonderful song by putting the link up again. Your guitar playing and the tone of your voice are top drawer, I could see you having a big hit on the country charts

Wow Joe, the description you give is horrifying for someone like me who has never had to face the horrors of war. We have all seen Hollywood films that glorify killing while the killers or those left behind don't seem to have a care, it's only the heroes that are mourned. It's the kids that watch these with impunity that might be tempted to violence never imagining the nightmares that follow as you have described them " a gun in one hand and a phone in the other" scary. A fine piece of songwriting, I couldn't listen to it as SoundCloud was down.

That's the Peatle JVille we all know and love. Not so much a song as a kick in the butt! Take no prisoners, I like the words you use a cross between a sermon, a song and a lesson in life. Nice one Pedr.

This one came through nice and clear as did your other post. I always find that bad weather affects the infernal net. Keep in touch.

Greetings Bill. Hope you get less problems with your surgery as Ann (AKA The wife) did. She had her first just over a month ago and had an infection behind the eye. That sorted they decided to do the other eye which seems to have cured her vertigo and floaters, that was 2 weeks ago she's now back to her normal self. So, good luck with your second surgery and look forward to more posts from your good self.

Aw Grah, I didn't realise you were so soppy...NO seriously I hope your wife gets back to health quickly and I must say it's nice to know that someone else feels the same way about their other half as I do about mine. And I love the song and sentiments, please wish her my best.

You have nothing to be sorry for Bill. Thanks to Jim for reviving Dondras picture she was a beautiful woman as you are a beautiful man. Live long and prosper my friend.

It's so good to hear from you Bill, I wish more of the people that used to frequent our little community would pop in occasionally. I'm so sorry to hear about your wife I know you were very close and to be honest I don't know how I would cope without my other half. I'm also so sorry to hear about your own personal difficulties and ailments, I've suffered with panic attacks and they're no joke. I hope they managed to sort out your prostrate problems?
Please don't be a stranger, I for one miss your witty repartee and your somewhat oblique outlook on life.

Most disastrous gig? Hard to pick just one. The one I wish I'd never bothered to go to was in Swansea at a catholic club. I had to play with their organ and drummer who were iffy at best. I made a joke which the priest didn't like, it was clean, but got paid off anyway. I have a few choice words which I cant repeat on here.

Another was when I played a gig at a caravan holiday park in mid Wales, they booked me back without going through the agent. When I got there they denied all knowledge and refused to even give me petrol money after travelling for 2 hours!

Thank you Brian for making me laugh first thing in the morning. Last two lines tickled me, though I recognise the rest of your work too as I swapped one load of disrupters for another over the years, what can you do? Stuck between a rock and a hard place, the devil and the deep blue sea.

There are brilliant songs out there so I can't understand why all the rubbish in the mainstream are so popular? Thank you Pedr you always find the best music.

I've seen a few of these narrow boat sessions and I think they're a brilliant idea. These guys are great, loved the harmonies and the musicianship.

Yes Pedr, that's the video I was referring to though I didn't know the boy was from North Wales. Still brings tears to my eyes...I must be getting old.

I recently saw another video on youtube of the same people playing "Bohemian Rhapsody", same guy on the piano in a city square somewhere(?) with a drummer, choir and a very young guitarist playing the Brian May solo. These guys are brilliant.

Absolutely brilliant.  The texts say the pianist vas a virtuoso but what about that 10 year old violinist, I'm gobsmacked and that singer ... the whole thing brought a tear to my eye.
Ps yeah Brian's right it is good to see you posting again Pedr.

Brilliant Graham funny and giving a good account of an actual event? You sound a bit like Johnny Cash so it suited the song perfectly. Thanks for sharing.
