+1  For Russell's advice.  Sounds like latency to me also.

Welcome to the Chordie Forums!  To partially answer your question please refer to the following:   http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1957

Instructions to post your original work is within it.  As for somewhere to have it "played" back in an audio format.... sorry, to my knowledge Chordie does not have that capability.  There are however a good many "Chordieans" who are accomplished performers and songwriters that might be interested in giving your tune a "spin" and recording the result to share.

Thanks for asking and Welcome aboard!

Best of luck to ye on that quest!  I watched the live rendition and the tune was arranged for Mandolin (X2) Accordian, and Tin Whistle with a Fiddle and Bohdrain tossed in for measure.  Unfortunately, I was unable to find anything in the way of music sheets that could be useful in conversion to guitar (or any at all even).

This could have posted in "Song Requests" for better viewing, and another Moderator may move it for better exposure.... and perhaps another avenue of exploration.

Take Care.

Check this link, the bottom post mentions a change in the way Onsong handles importing after a recent change in the program.
It should be helpful.    http://www.chordie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?id=27344

Not had a problem on my 12 either, but I tend to nestle the thing right up against the fret so maybe not such an issue in close.

Didn't work for me either..."referral denied on this server".  Being the cautious type, I'll likely not try again.

Good to know Graham is home and on the mend!  Rather be out of the hospital than in I'm sure.... the place is full of people in white coats that are "practising" their trade (I only want to see the ones that don't need practice), and some of the folks that go there wind up dead.  Only laugh if it doesn't hurt!  smile

Hello everybody,
I'm also a newbie here. I'm wondering should I learn chords or songs first when I started learning how to play guitar ?

Welcome to Chordie and the world of Guitar!

Actually both kind of HAVE to come together...... otherwise it just seems boring and painful.  You will find the chord charts referenced on the song pages to assist you in getting the chord forms right, and the rest is practice and more of the same until you develop muscle memory of the chord shapes and positions that make the charts moot.

Start out with the easy versions (and you will find them kind of indexed on the left side of the screen) in the "Public Books" section.  Start your own "My Songbook" and add the ones that you are familiar with and/or would like to learn. As you advance you will find it helpful to learn scales and such, but most of the "formal music" stuff is optional for back-porch-campfire playing.

Listen to recorded versions (you tube is good for that) to get the feel of the timing and when the chord changes occur.... it's good to "play along".

Visit here often and seek advise when you have queries, but above all have fun with your music, it's a journey that will give many years of pleasure which you'll never outgrow. The Chordie Community is friendly, supportive and pleased to make your acquaintance.

Welcome Aboard!

Ok guys, get me enthusing about guitar again. Lost my mojo.

Welcome back Selso!  AND Alvee!

That's what happens when you lose touch with your "Support Group"....... you stand a pretty good chance of "falling off the (band)wagon".

Good to see you all back posting again.

Reminds me, Anyone heard from Old Doll lately?...... got wondering about her the other day.

I would choose "C"  All of the above....

Like you I was taught that there was a difference between creative arts and performance arts.  The "Americanization" of English kind of just grouped everything together into "The Arts" and hence the one common usage of "Artist".  Not saying that it is right or wrong.

But aren't we happy that we can remember when it was not so....? smile

Well Jerry,  You already know how.... Choose "print to file" instead of your default printer, and it will "save the file" on your drive in whatever folder you choose.  I usually just name the file with the title of the song and put it in a folder "sheet music" in "my music" (assuming you are using a windows PC) make sure you select .PDF as the filetype and you can easily make multipage PDF documents with your own custom set list.  Re-order the pages etc. and have them to either print hard copies or scroll through on your laptop or other device.  You also have the ability to add comments at the start of each song with effects settings and such to make it easier to replicate that sound next time.

Hi Jerry,  check your e-mail.

It is supposed to keep your edits, but saving to your local drive is the best way to preserve them.  Things happen and sometimes songs that you used to be able to access, are removed on request or??

What is that resolution fix you talked about pressing CTL and ?
Thanks.

The answer is "minus" sign -
I think.....

I have no idea why the block should be at the bottom of the page though, as it is uniformly on the right side regardless of which browser I use.

Zurf you dont catch drunk fish you Dynamite them just dont do it in ujb's  state.

"Dupont Spinners" (explosives) are pretty much illegal to fish with in every State, I think it is a Federal thing.  But you can get a Blasting Permit, and if the Stump "happens to be close to the pond"...... there might be collateral damage.  Then it comes down to an EPA violation for Polluting the Banks of a Natural Waterway (with dead fish) or cleaning up the mess..... while not "Wasting any Part of a Game Fish" which I think is also a violation.

Stump's gone..... Fire up the Smoker!

I'm totally with you Russell, but the truth is, and a sad truth I may add.... just about everything in the way of consumer goods (other than those things you wear on your body) are machine made.  The person that manipulates the parts through the machine and the folks watching the robots work get paid really well for doing it here.  You got an American worker getting something like $80.00/Hour (with Benefits) and an off-shore worker doing the same job for 80 Cents!  No wonder we have a trade deficit..... We can't hardly afford to buy our own products, and for sure no one else on the planet can either.

We did it to ourselves, and it hurts.  No easy fix in sight!

Thanks for the quick reply but there is no blue framed menu area titled "cool service" just an area where you can change the key and change the tuning. I'm using a desktop computer on Google Chrome. Thanks

There should be another just below the transpose frame.  I just checked again and looking good on my side of the world.  I'll run through my selection of browsers and devices and be back in a little bit to update this.

Sorry my friend..... Desktop on Chrome is OK

Laptop on Chrome also OK
Notebook on 8.1 and Explorer and Chrome both OK (although I'm still not fond of that Metro UI)
Laptop and Desktop running Linux and Firefox both OK

Sorry but I'm out of fruit this early in  the season, so no Apple! smile

Anybody else got an idea?  Don't be shy!

A few years back I bought a new American Flag.... my old one was looking a little sad, and although well cared for and stored properly between patriotic holidays, weather worn and faded.  It was also heavy cotton and stitched together (including the stars all 49 of them!).  Kind of a Family heirloom of sorts, and I still have it.  Anyway I ordered a new one from a group of Scouts that had wandered through the area and within a few weeks I was the proud owner of a replacement, bright shiny new with three piece mast and mounting bracket.

Well, although the package displayed a large "Made in America" logo in the brightly printed graphics that covered the retail box inside the shipping box made of 60% post consumer paper pulp (good for the Planet and all that)..... there was a small fabric tag stitched to the flag's hem saying "Made in China".   It gets better!  The pole set  it was attached to with the safety plastic end-plug and gold-tone plastic finial bore a sticker..."Assembled in Mexico".   The ONLY part that was actually American was the colorful printed box and I'm not sure that the printing was even done here as it was not great quality either.   I guess I should feel good about the scouts getting a little bit of the money I spent.

Noah, it should be there after you open the song on the right side of the page in the blue framed menu area titled "cool service"  look for the little printer icon. It should start your printer services on your device and let you go from there.

Let us know if it still seems missing, and also include the type of device, OS, Browser, and any other information you might think helpful so we can duplicate as close as possible to what you are seeing.

Thanks for posting!

Good idea!  Mine fight over food like a pack of starving mongrels!

We have one variety that "winters over" so our feeder stays out almost year-round.  The "bird folks" over at the University say they follow the sap-suckers around and poach their food, and eat bugs in the wintertime.  Yeah..... bugs in winter?  Might know a lot about birds, but really need to talk to the bug-guys when they aren't hugging Unicorns and skipping through Fantasyland.  But I digress....

Last year my "flock" deserted for the neighbor's, and I had thought they didn't do well through the freeze.  Then I found out that they had doubled the sugar in their feeder!  Got them back though, put Ruby Red Squirt in mine for "color" and increased the sugar as well.... the whole bunch of "deserters" got "hooked" on the caffeine and vitamin C.  At sun-up they'd be lined up like cars at a Dutch Bros. Expresso Stand!

Have a good Spring!

TF,  Actually that is a good system you are considering.  I particularly like that you have options with it in so far as inputs for versatility.  In the past I tried one of those "in the body" microphone type pick-ups, and it seemed prone to feedback and gathered ALL sounds including the rustle of a shirt cuff against the guitar, and the scrape or tap of a ring worn on the fretting hand.

If that is a problem with the GFS, you would simply reach inside and unplug the mic, and perhaps install the piezo as another option.
As Amy stated "It's gotta sound good to you!"
