I've got a Roy Rogers guitar from 1950's
I will try to take a picture of it today and post it.
Yaki Dar to your anniversary Phill
and here I thought this was going to be about celebrating PHILL and ANN ! ![]()
Phill
I believe you can make any guitar sound great, much the same way Ann always makes you look good !

I remember my first guitar was a Cherry red Sqier Stratocaster. It played good - I gave it to my neice a few years ago
Congrats on the 50th Phill

I really liked this - couple thoughts popped in my head as I listened.
I don't have time tonight , but maybe another day I'll listen again
Sounds like a good ending to a troubled life
OK
I had more time this morning and made some changes as you will see. Re did some lyrics, changed chords, and re wrote title.
To me it plays much better and fits better.
(Phill- If you ever get a chance to give this a go I'd love to hear it. )
(Beamer- did you ever give it a go ?)

Ditto what Peatle and Phill already said !

Nice words for a friend - sometimes it has a huge impact - hope so in this case.
Well done !!
Jim
Peatle,
Hopefully they had no children to witness or endure. What a sad atmosphere to have to live in. I guess there came a point of "no more" and the alternative was more appealing than continuing. A very sad story put into an excellent poem.
It is astonishing to realize what many people have to live with day in and day out, yet try to paint pictures of normalcy for the world to see. This story could've been the backdrop for the song I just wrote the other day and posted here - Thunderstorms and earthquakes beneath her sky of blue.
In the meantime, some people think their lives are sooooo terrible b/c the their cell phone battery died.
Thanks for sharing. a terrific , but exceeding sad, sad poem.

Fantastic finger picking.
He plays the guitar so easily, it's like it's a part of him.
I love the lyric in the song hard times never go away - "Heartache and sadness, they look to be my friend.
How I'd like to kill them both and start all over again." the essence of the blues right there !
Thanks for sharing - great way to start the weekend.
Jim
Beamer, Phill, and Peatle
Thank you.
Now I just have to figure out how to play it so it sounds decent. ![]()

Zurf and Peatle
I can imagine, but what I am imagining isn't nearly as good looking or active as Maria !! ![]()
However, every day we get a little closer to 100 !
I hope this works out musically - if anyone has suggestions in that regard I would appreciate it. ![]()
Congrats to your Mom Peatle ! That is awesome - she had everyone in the room's attention and even had them danceing as well. Quite a milestone and I am sure quite a woman!
Thanks for sharing.

PS how do people from New Zealand know how to speak Welsh ?
Maxwell's guitar playing on "my town" on that beat up ol' guitar was fantastic. such a fluid style of playing. I loved how he slid his hand down on the chords - what a cool style. Wish I knew how to do that !

First off my apologies - I missed last week.
Billie Eilish is smoking - what a voice. I loved when she sings with her brother Finneas. She certainly has a passion for the blues.
I also listened to her cover Bad by Michael Jackson - it was awesome.
John Maxwell is really good as well. I like the true country sound that comes off his guitars and filters into blues.
I particularly liked How Can a Poor Man Stand Such Times and Live !
Thanks for sharing

Very nice
V3 has great lyric - love the lines very clever !
[Am]Now I don’t fall in love [Dm]so easy
[Am]Its the falling out [Em]I hate
[Am]The blues that [Dm]come after,
[Am]just are’nt worth [Em]the weight
Super collaborative effort- can’t wait to hear it
Since I really don’t know what 3/4 time is
Phill
I quite agree with Peatle - very witty in the lyrics.
Really great sound on the acoustic - nice rhythm - it flows nicely.
Everything sounds so beautifully clear.

I liked it to Brian - Peatles images brought it to life!
We are headed in the opposite direction in to fall and then winter.
