Very interesting video.
Thanks for taking the time....
I can see why the guy would need to go to college to run a system like that now if they only had courses like that when I was a School.  smile

Hi Roger
It sure is a roller coaster ride. Another strange thing I've noticed is that some of the same songs go into the charts again. There doesn't seem to be any rule preventing the same song to be entered month after month. mmm
Anyway thanks for your kind comments and good luck to you and anyone suffering the Ourstage Charts. smile

Hi Russ
I'm wondering if you would be open to bending the rules to your challenge.  smile
As it seems that lyrics are a little hard to come by for some of us maybe you could include pure instrumentals the Challenge..
Just a thought.
Ark
Also does the finish piece have to include guitars a bit cheeky I know as this is Chordie..

Hi Phill
Had a dog for 15years and having to have the poor old thing put down was one of the hardest jobs that I've had to do..
I watched a program about how pedigree dogs that have been been so inbred that a good majority have major health problems mental and physical. This to satisfy the Kennel club rules of showing the different breds of dogs.
Cruffs pretty surface hides a dark underside of dog maltreatment.. All down to the loving owners mmm.....
Look forward to a recording

Nice to hear the song in it's entirety with the intended lyrics.

Good job with the vocals the chorus effect (for want of a better word) adds more depth nice.

I liked this one.
The Mando is real nice has a great sound the is picking spot on.

The wife bought me a Mando a few Christmas's a go. I got out it and had a go and thought man this too hard.... have to learn all the chords all over again  smile so it hanging up in it's gig bag.
But it certainly sounds sweet maybe I will get it out again.....

Hey Stretch
Just listened your song.
It's quite a catchy number.
Maybe a tad over long but think you were enjoying yourself and the audience showed their appreciation at the end must have been live recording  smile
I've sent a friends request to your site...

Thanks Guys for taking the time.
Russ
I've now come to the conclusion that having a reasonable tune and recording it is only part of the of overall completion of a song. Mixing different tracks is art in itself fraught with major and minor problems. But It's great fun and adictive....

KAP54
Mixing tracks with Magix is fun but like all realitivley new Apps (to me) it's a learning curve.
It cost about $57 us. so it's a monetry commitment which after having tried the free demo was I felt worth it to me and the type of stuff I do.
I still think that Audacity is a great place to start in computer mixing and Russ video's explain alot of the setting up and running of the Apps.

marcalan
Your right they are sorta babies in a way and It's hard when they grow up and leave home smile
I've always got a number of different ideas and tracks on the go much as we all have so it's finish one and onto another....
I've always admired the Native Americans and their Culture and over the years through watching documenties etc have felt a great deal of sorrow at their plight and near extinction.
Us English share a good deal of the blame over their miss treatment.

stretch
I guess it's true that instrumentals can be harder to get an audience with.
I like all types of music but melodies are always important to me so this reflects in the songs I do.
But my first love is the guitar and guitar based songs of all kinds...

Hey Marc
Glad you got your song up on Ourstage good luck....
Here's how work it suposed to work from the horse's mouth so to speak..

How does the ranking engine work?
The ranking or judging is done via two patent pending algorithms that serve up top ranking, middle ranking and relatively new uploaded material in a channel in "somewhat" random fashion for someone to judge.
When we say somewhat, we mean that we take care of serving up the material in a fair and unbiased fashion. We are watching very carefully to make sure that each item in the channel gets equal exposure--we guarantee that. Whether that happens in a particular judging session, though, is another matter.

Depending on how much our users like something (rank it favorably), and how long they want to keep on ranking, the ranking engine will try to get the user to discriminate how much more an item is liked over other ranked items, and thus, the reason why users may see what appears to them as the same item coming up during several battles.

Our site users who judge cannot request what material they will be served to judge. During judging they have to view or play the material served, and at a minimum, they have to screen an item for 15 seconds each before they can rank one item over another.

Then, all of the rankings from all of the users are taken together and the ranking engine bubbles up the best items to the top!
Here's a link to the FAQ on ourstage....  http://www.ourstage.com/about/faqs#faq465a

I'm still not sure of the "Fairness" of it all myself

Hey Arkie, is Essex big? A good friend of mine is from there. So you know the question that follows.
His name is Michael Rayner. We call him Sketch. Sound familiar?

Now Stretch is Essex big?
Yes and No well average for England.
Sorry there's 1,310835 people living in Essex so.... you know what I'm going to say we haven't crossed paths yet.
Having a nick name of  Sketch does narrow it down some what but no..
It's strange that his nick name is so close to your id..mmmmm stretch and sketch does he draw...  smile
