We had that issue with the kitchen sink... 1. there was no vent... poor construction.  2. there were globs of grease in the line going from sink to main drain.  Lucky, it was inside the house.  Removed, replaced, all better.  An old coffee can and a paper towel solves that issue from reoccurring (and tons of hot soapy water).

Jerome, I have wanted a tank less system for a while now!  Good for you!  smile

It would be very cool to go to Crete, although I have no clue how I could financially swing it.  I'll keep my eyes on this thread though, and dream.  You know, my great grandfather was from somewhere in Greece.  I heard if I ever went there, stopped into the embassy, told them this, I would be welcomed with open arms, immediate citizenship, and people would throw money at me welcoming me "home".  I'd kind of like to do that, just to see if the guy telling me this was joking or not.  wink  Plus, I'd like to experience some REALLY authentic Greek food.  smile  Closest I've ever gotten to it was this diner that my mom used to work at when I was a kid.  The Yiayia (grandma) and Pappou (grandpa), who were the owners parents, didn't speak a lick of English and Yiayia was always shoving food in my face and fawning over me when I'd go in there.

Yes, yes Scott that is ALL YOU!  I don't think you could beat someone over the head though.  You're too sweet for that!  wink

Unclejoesband - Bass fishing story coming up just for you!  When my sister and I were kids (around 10 and 12) we caught a frog in the stream and my sister decided she wanted to use it for bait back at the lake (dad laughing at us, because it was near to impossible to catch a bass unless you were out in the cooler water).  Stuck the hook through his poor little lip (not the smarted spot to hook a frog), cast out into the lake from the waters edge, and just as it looked like the frog was going to go flying off the hook... BAM!  A BIG OLE Bass jumped up out of the water and GULP... Frog, hook and all.  She was pretty proud that day.

Welcome to Chordie!  Yeah, there are some semi-pros on here, but I really think there's as many of us that aren't as those that are.  I found Chordie the day after I decided to start teaching myself to play guitar.  You're on track, the membership here is great!  They are what makes the forum so good!

Yes, for Skype you'll need a mic and a webcam ... stick around the forums a while and it won't take long, you'll be out buying them and asking how to get it all set up so that you can "meet" some of the others.  Chordie's more like a family than just some random guitar message board, so welcome to the family!  smile

Doug, what about taking that drive out and looking at it externally while not booting from it?  Would he see anything different in his file system?  Phill, any chance that you backed up your data to a different partition on the drive?  Sometimes that is an option, if your drive is big enough (although not a good choice, because the entire hard drive could fail).  When I say, a different partition, I mean look for a D or E drive... generally windows is installed on C.  If you have another drive that's not your usb's or dvd drive, that could POSSIBLY have a backup of files on it.

I do have to warn you Phill... I am grasping at strings here.  I think Doug is likely on the money and the reinstall wiped your files.  I know how important they are to you, and trying to think of anything I possibly can.  In the future... you could have likely gotten the files off the drive by connecting it externally... saving them elsewhere... then doing the full install.  An extra computer would have been necessary for that (and an external hard drive bay).  I know telling you this now does you no good... but it's good to know if it happens again for some unknown reason and you haven't had a chance to back up yet.

I am sorry!  I hope a miracle happens for you!

Yeah, I still need to see if my tablet can handle a group call or not on Skype.  Last time I tried it only worked one on one.  If not, I may have to convince Jim to sign in on his laptop, or buy a webcam.  smile  I'm busy this Saturday and next though.  JEFF????  Friday? Sunday? Next week, Friday? Sunday?  wink

Edit... I might actually be available next week on Saturday too!

Jerome, that's AWESOME!  Good for you and the wife finding something new to learn and do together.  smile

Fishing opens April 1st here in NY too.  I haven't fished since I was a teenager though.  I grew up just fishing in the lake, and I can still sit there and have a few drinks and drift off to sleep without a rod in my hand.  wink

Don't forget... the Salmon River isn't too far from me, and there's a nice little fisherman's rental trailer across the road from my Dad who loves to play guitar, shoot the breeze, and cook venison!  They run in September though.

I'd love to see all you guys dressed in your finest lingerie!  smile  Ha ha ha!  Who's gonna wear the one with the holes cut in strategic places?  I don't know if Ya'll would want to see me captain that.  I might need to wear the stripes and be the ref!  LOL!

Kap!  Good to see ya back, sorry to hear about the stroke!  Hopefully all is well with the fine motor skills so you can play the geeetar.

NELA - you bring up a good point.  Did they leave when you did, or when you came back?  Hmmmm... I am SURE it couldn't be when you came back.  Maybe now that you're here bringing up interesting posts more people will join in.  smile

Hmmm... what's up with me?  Nothing too exciting.  Went to Chordiestock II and had the time of my life.  Came home with massive guitar callouses.  Need to keep playing so I don't lose them.  Hating the stupid snow and cold weather in CNY.  Oh, I might go for Karaoke this weekend with my Dad and Brother.  That's always fun!  They can sing too!!!  We generally get a few requests.  It's almost as good as playing the guitar and singing, except you don't have to worry so much about the fingers getting too drunk and when I get too drunk to sing, I still usually sound better than half the people in there.  wink  At least, I think so... I guess if there was video taken I would probably end up disagreeing.

I'm glad you are back NELA!  So happy Roger was able to straighten it out for you, and that Deadstring's old email was in there and he contacted us to get you back on track!

There's not really a way to split a topic.  Just start a new one for your gathering, and we'll keep this one on track with gig photos... or lack of them.  LOL.

Love the treble clef.  I have one entwined in a guitar on my shoulder as some may recall.  :-)

Hmmmm... Paid gig.  I sang at a wedding once with a piano accompaniment and got paid $20 for it.  I was a teenager, so that seemed like a good deal at the time.  Lol!  I busked at the local beach once and made like a dollar and change. I don't own any pictures from the wedding but there may be a video somewhere in my mother's possession, non digital of course.  I need to transfer those someday!

It can be found here.  I think it's nice to look at sometimes.  When I put my capo on the second fret and someone says, "what key are you playing in?"  I can actually figure it out for them, then if they can play the actual chords while I'm playing different shapes with the capo, it can sound pretty cool.  I always forget I have the chart though.  LOL!

I have another one tomorrow BGD.  I spend most of my day in and out of my car knocking on peoples doors though.  Yay to government spending on research projects!  tongue

I've been waiting to listen to this on the computer (tablet doesn't support the myspace music player).  Lovely Phill!  It has a Billy Joel feel to it, all that's missing is the Sax!  REALLY great job on this one!!!!  smile  I like it a LOT!

Sounds like you're moving along just fine.  I've been at it a few years now, and haven't forced myself to learn the scales and such yet!  wink  Good Job to you!  I will also +1 for justinguitar.com - online, great instructor, and free (unless you choose to donate or purchase hard copy items).

WELCOME TO CHORDIE!
