Patrick, 18, playing for 4 years.  I'm over in Fort Worth, Texas.

Hilarious.  This brightened my day. I always thought about these things, too.

Speedwise: Malmsteen, Buckethead, and Herman Li are all up there at the top.  Herman Li can't seem to play very well live, though.

I'm 17 and have been playing for a little over two years now.  I originally played piano, so I come on here to improve my "guitar songwriting skills."

I started playing two days after I heard Killer Queen for the first time.  I'm only 17, but I heard it on my mom's record player when I was ten, and I've been playing ever since.

"The Ocean" by Led Zeppelin will improve your barre chords if played correctly, and it will improve some hammer ons and pull offs too.

Does anyone think that Gerard Way (My Chemical Romance) sounds a bit like the great Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins) at times?  I noticed this a lot on MCR's last album and on their newer song Famous Last Words.  That part  near the end of the song with the palm muted guitar part reallly sounds like Corgan.

Who here considers themselves a night owl?  I was just wondering, because late night is the only time I seem to be truly awake. It seems like no one ever appears to be in these  forums during my hours...well...maybe that is a sign that I should get a day job.

Frusciante (sp?) truly makes the band stellar in my eyes.  They are amazing.

Sorry I had to kill this thread...I just don't think music should be about who or what is the best.  These are all opinions I suppose...

Fortunate Son-CCR

I learned it in about two hours and it was my first accomplishment on the guitar.

Fall out Boy, Panic at the Disco, new Green Day, Jay-z, and all those other no name bands that cannot play live. (The majority of what is popular in the rock world right now.)

RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS...........................................................................are awesome.

It isn't too early... you are lucky if you are starting a band with people at the same musical level as you.  I was in a band with beginners, so I had to teach them all how to play before I would learn any songs with them...it was a mess.

They're amazing compared to the garbage coming on to the scene today.  I'm glad there's a band like them to even out the good and bad.

I know everyone will bug me about this, but Nottingham Lace by Brian Carrol (Buckethead) is my favorite.  Jimmy Page's Stairway to Heaven and Brian May's Bohemian Rhapsody are my 2nd and 3rd place.

I was formerly in Monkeys with Fireworks, but I am now working solo.

November Rain- Guns and Roses- has a great outro solo too.  It isn't that difficult.

Martin's are on the expensive side, but the new 000X1 are around $500 and they are some of the best sounding acoustics I have ever heard.

I play a 1984 Ibanez AE acoustic and a worn brown Les Paul Studio.  I love both of them equally.
