For those who haven't seen it, you can bit torrent it from MiniNova, not that i'm condoning downloading *cough cough* wink

I have a Tanglewood TW145 and I love it! I don't think I could have found a better guitar suited to myself. They sound wonderful, beautifully made and they play perfectly.

I recommend! smile

I personally go for anything that avoids F and that I know the tune to wink

Favourite for some odd reason at the moment is the darker dirtier version of Jolene that I play.

Hi Nedaph,

I had a similair problem when I started playing there was a distinct pause in strumming when I was changing chords. I found the easiest way around it was to not play a song but play around with a standard strumming patter DUDUDU and change to chords that I knew well A E G, as I was not needing to think about the chords that I was changing to, my strumming hand didn't pause in anyway. Sounded like crap at times, but I just looked at it as finger exercises.

Give it a try, it becomes easier when your less focused on trying to get a particular song down.

Oh I just thought of one, First Cut is the Deepest written by Cat Stevens but Rod Stewart made the song famous! smile

Umm I think Wild Horses was written by Mick Jagger, he wrote it about Marianne Faithful when he was in Australia making the film Ned Kelly ...

I feel like I have neglected my beautiful instrument, I need to hide my head in shame - I play about 1-2 hours a day and on and off all weekend, it's seems i'm wayyyyy overdue for a change of strings.

What would I do without you guys!

So I was wondering how often do you change your strings? I've had my acoustic for about 6 months now, and only one string has been changed (Top E) due to me snapping it whilst trying to tune - I think we all need to do that once to learn our lesson!

I've just found recently that i'm not happy with the sound of my guitar it's not sounding as warm as it used to .. for anyone curious it's a Tanglewood TW145-ASC.

Thanks in advance!!! smile

This may sound like a very silly question, but please keep in mind, i'm still relatively new to this whole guitar thing (even though in my mind I am the rock star tongue), when you use a Capo, do you then re-tune your guitar?

The song i'm playing around with is There is a light that never goes out by The Smiths, and it says Capo on the 4th Fret, so i'm guessing, I count down 4, put it on and then I play and sound awful (which means i'm doing something wrong!) or I re-tune?

Your help is appreciated!! smile

Speaking from personal experience, if you are not musical in any sense (like myself), it's quite hard to hear a strumming pattern in a song that you are listening to.

As a beginner it helps to have a strumming pattern shown to you for the first couple of songs. Once your strumming hand then knows how to move, you then find as you are listening to something else you start to move your hand up and down and there is an instant 'by george she's got it!' moment.

I looked at strumming patterns for the first two songs I learned, and now, I just find they confuse me and I need to 'listen' to what i'm trying to play.

I would love to finger pick, but alas to early in the game for it as i'm still struggling to learn my first song. When I started doing a big of research on what guitar I wanted to buy and the different woods that are used I stumbled across this site that makes picks out of exotic woods .. Thought you guys might be interested smile

Thank you so much Gitaardocphil! I have both an electric and an acoustic, so your tips are GREAT!! smile

I believe that Groupies still exist unfortunately.

If you go to any boy band gig (this also includes bands like Good Charlotte, My Chemical Romance) you will see every girl there with lust in their eyes waiting to be the one escorted back stage to give a BJ to a coked out wanna be rockstar ... whats the point of being one now days? You can sell your story to every tabloid of how you were taken advantage of and get your 5 minutes of fame ...

I have a wonderful so in love with Tanglewood TW170-ASCE (Acoustic Electric) and a Fender Squire Strat, which after alot of what I have read on this forum seems to be a big big mistake - please tell me it isn't so ...

The best site that I have found for figuring out how to do a particular chord is:

http://jguitar.com/chordsearch?chordsearch=F

Type in the chord and hit go!

Thank you all sooo much for your answers! I'm off the guitar shop to buy me some polish! smile

I only ask, as I know my guitar is varnished wood - what do I wipe it down with to clean fingerprints off? I figure damp cloth .. but is there something extra special that I can use to keep it looking super pretty?

Feel free to slap me for the silly question ... wink
