Hello ViringiaK,

That looks like a great site to have access to but I was unable to find it. Can you please check the URL for it as I would like to add it to my favourites.

Mind you I might not be able to find it as I am just getting old and feeble lol

Thank you,

Roger

"I would also like to say, as you are so young, always let your Mam or Dad, read your Post !  This is not meant to offend anyone here on this site!! We want all our young people to be safe and protected.."

I would like to second that admirable statement and add that the same applies to all the young contributors to the Forum.

Hey Old Doll,

It is perhaps a good job I live in Portugal. Desperado at 11:00pm, there is probably a lynching party waiting for me in Ireland now. lol

Hi Saba,

I have sent to you privately my e-mail address and I will help you get your song posted if you wish.

Hi Bootlegger,

Since you have raised the point can you explain what is the difference between a holobody, semi-acoustic and electric acoustic guitar?

Thank you,

Hi Badeye,

Maths is when you see that someone was born 5 years before 1955 and then calculate their age to be 60.

Single Malt is extremely fine whiskey that goes down like nectar but it does help to cause these miscalculations after you have had a dram or two.

I hope that this information is beneficial to your education and you are now up to speed. lol

Good health,

Roger

I can personally recommend the mixture of Malt and Maths if you end up with very charming new friend as I have.

Hi Snowden

Thanks for letting us hear how "Bluer Than You" should be. It is far better to be able to listen to a song than just having the lyrics and chords.

The URL for Friends of Chordie is:  http://www.myspace.com/friendsofchordie

May I also apologise as I had to convert the original mp2 recording to mp3 and it has lost a little in the conversion.

Hi Singist,

Welcome to Chordie and thank you for noting the errors in "Halfway To Paradise".

You need to  transfer the song to your Songbook and make the neccessary correction on there first. (This gives you chance to check that all the alterations are correct). Then highlight and copy your edited version.

You now need go to the Songs section and open the original song and at the bottom of the page you will see a message 'Correct this song'. Click on this and paste your edited version, zap the old one and then save it.

The song displayed will now be your version with a note at the bottom saying that it has been corrected by you.

Roger.

These posts got lost during the change over to the new server as did several others at about this time. Scrimmy82 had bought a new guitar and was asking what the allen key was for that came with it. My reply was that it was to adjust the truss rod but suggested that it was safer not to attempt it.

Forty odd years ago I was in a group (now called band) that had a superb drummer. It was nothing for him to do a 15 minute drum solo. An ideal opportunity to leave the stage, find the prettiest girl in the room, get a dance (jive) and arrange to take her home later. Those were the days. So I guess I used my guitar to meet girls too.

Hi Jeff,

Love the G to E chord change in this they go well together, (I must remember that and use it myself sometime).

We tend not to get too much rain here so I do not the enforced pleasure of extra guitar practice. Still that is one of the reasons I left the UK.

Thank you Jeff,

Hello Rhiannon,

Those lyrics are very moving and those thoughts must have been echoed by many young women whose man has gone of to war. This is a very adult song from a 13 year old young lady.

Well done and thank You,

Hello Deearna,

The best music to play on your guitar is the music that you like. It is however interesting to develop your own style of playing to enable you to put your own 'stamp' on whatever you play.

To give an example, Eva Cassidy's "Somewhere Over The Rainbow" and "Fields Of Gold" are far superior to the original artists versions. (In my humble opinion).

Take care,

Roger

Hi Mike,

Actually when I eventually got to hear it I did rather like this song. Ok it is not quite as I would have performed it but by gosh you certainly sounded to have had great fun thrashing it out.

Thank you,

Hi Shady Wilbury,

Definitely like this and the chord progression flows. Looking forward to seeing the chords for the chorus and then maybe we can persuade you to record it so we can hear the way you intend it to be.

Thank you,

Love the song Snowden300. All to often politicians and big industry see only money and forget about the people who have to live in the fallout of decisions made for financial gain without any consideration of the local ecology.

Thank you,

Hi Jeff,

Just gave your song the once over and I must say it is another good effort from you. Mind you at a mere 60 years old I have not got to the stage of having to slow down yet so I will not be singing this one for a good number of years.......I wish lol

50 years of playing and I have only ever played open G with fingers 1,2 and 3. I might add that I find no difficulty with quick changes to or from it.

You learn something new every day and although I have never had any problems using this fingering I will give the alternative fingering some practice.

Hello Per,

With the old Forum there was a small, yellow light bulb marking unread messages that appeared to extinguish after being read. With the new one there is a blue square but I find that as soon as I reply to one message all the blue squares dissapear exept for one on my new message.

There also used to be a quick link to the next and previous topic at the foot of the last posting which I found very helpful.

The first seems to be a glitch and the second would be nice to see back if possible.

Hi Emma,

I will second what Jeff said. I particularly like the A and E on the last line and it is definitely worth the effort of expanding this to become a song.

Well done,

Roger

Thank you Alec,

Mhebert, what has up till now been a secret is that there is a special coded language that Moderators have to learn. Although Ken's message seem like ordinary trivia it does mean something completely different which I cannot, of course, divulge as I would be breaking my Moderator's oath. As a part of the acceptance ritual one has to barre a chord and show proficiency in the use of a capo. We also greet and recognise each other with a special chordshape. I am not at liberty to tell you more than that though..
