Hi Joe,

Thank you for your offer of assistance in moderating Chordie.

As Zurf has pointed out, Per (the site owner) has, in recent times, asked me to recruit victims for the post of Moderator smile. However there are no vacancies at present, and I do have a couple of people who have asked before you, but I will keep your name in mind and, when something is available, I will be in touch.

Thank you again,

Roger

Assuming I was not given the opportunity to leave the country, incognito and with all my babies I would have to settle with my 70's Melody 12 string.

Doesn't work in the UK Rog, we had Bliars missus, Cherie, for too many years so pretty much anything went come the end of the thieving, money grabbing, lying, murdering, war mongers term. Mind you, the fact that she looks like The Joker didn't help.

The lovely Sam Cameron though is another kettle of fish!

Jerry

You are forgetting, the first lady in the UK is the Queen and imagine the look that you would get using bad language before her. You would probably be sent to the tower or be beheaded for such an offence lol.

You are correct, it is only Moderators that have the authority to alter the title.

I thought you might like to see this.

My friend Howard bought a battered, well past it's best, much abused and totally useless guitar from a flea market for next to nothing. It was not suitable to repair and re-sell in the shop as a playable guitar so after many hours this is what he ended up with:

Hi GBD,

One possibility comes to mind. If the old strings had been on a while there could be a built up of crud in them giving a false reading on the vernier scale/micrometer. On an acoustic you can go as light as 10s but the heavier string will give a fuller sound.

It might also be an idea to check the straightness of the fretboard. If there is more tension the neck is likely to bend and may need a truss rod adjustment. A word of warning, if you have not adjusted a truss rod before take it to someone who knows what they are doing.

Wishing you a speedy recovery Butch. I hope that your fears are unfounded and you regain full use of your hand.

Hi Ajhand60 welcome to Chordie,

As Pete has mentioned all songs should be transferrable to your songbook/s. Please list specific songs where you are not able to as without this information it is impossible to offer you any help at all.

Hi Turret,

Yes the 'Edit Button' is back from his vacation and hopefully will be with us for a long while before he needs another one. smile. However you do not, and never have, needed the 'Edit Button' to transpose a song, this this has always been a seperate function and always been available.

Mountainwillow and Dino, The change in resources should become the default setting. Obvious question, but it must be asked: Did you remember to 'save' the setting change ?

Pix, I would guess that the pain of not playing your guitar is nearly as bad as the injury pain. Get well soon and be more careful with the car repairs.

Update on the Carolina Treet BBQ Sauce:

I am a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy/hot sauces (curry, Indian food and Portuguese piri-piri are all completely off the menu) but as this had been sent especialy for me, I decided to throw caution to the wind and try it.

I marinaded a chicken breast in it for 24 hours and then roasted it with onions, potatoes, carrots and broccoli. Certainly the aroma when I served it was great but it was with some trepidation that I took the first bite (and I did have a glass of iced water on hand just in case smile)................................... I need not have worried it was delicious and I enjoyed every mouthful.

Thank you very much Pix.
