Ok, here we are in the month of April already!
Song suggestions were to be from the 1960`s and the 1980`s era.   Your Song Suggestions came in, they were Put In The Hat and then randomly pulled out.   These are the Two Songs that came out of the hat.

1960`s -THE WEIGHT
From Wikipedia:  "The Weight" is a song originally by the Canadian-American group The Band that was released as Capitol Records single 2269 in 1968 and on the group's debut album Music from Big Pink. Written by Band member Robbie Robertson, the song is about a visitor's experiences in a town mentioned in the lyric's first line as Nazareth.

1980`s - JACK AND DIANE
From Wikipedia:  "Jack & Diane" is a 1982 hit rock song written and performed by American singer-songwriter John Mellencamp, then performing as "John Cougar." It appears on Mellencamp's album American Fool. It was chosen by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) as one of the Songs of the Century. The single spent four weeks at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982, and, to date, is Mellencamp's most successful hit single.
According to Mellencamp, "Jack & Diane" was based on the 1962 Tennessee Williams film Sweet Bird of Youth.[2] He said of recording the song: "'Jack & Diane' was a terrible record to make. When I play it on guitar by myself, it sounds great; but I could never get the band to play along with me. That's why the arrangement's so weird. Stopping and starting, it's not very musical." Mellencamp has also stated that the clapping wasn't supposed to be included in the finished song. It was recorded with the clapping in order to help keep tempo and then it was to be removed. However, he realized the song did not work without it.

Welcome to Chordie Marshel,

I have no experience with CT but have heard it is very painful, so I hope you have a successful and speedy recovery from your operation.
Glad you have taken a look in at FSOTM and hope to see you join in there, hopefully in the near future playing your guitar or banjo smile  Feel free to join in anyway with suggestions, votes or comments in general anyway until you are able to play again.
I know we have another banjo player here in Chordie and that would be easybeat who gets his banjo out from time to time.

That was awesome BDG, a great cover by you but then I kinda expected it to be good from you smile  Your voice sounded great, nothing wrong with it, you didn't sound sick at all.

Oh so good you guys!! what a great thing to do, collaborating, bringing talents and idea`s to fruition and opposite sides of the world to boot! Just awesome!

I thought 'Tango' was just brilliant, posted comments on Sound cloud ..... that was such a fun song, upbeat, could dance to it, just a happy song,  ............ I will now look at campers with a different perspective! and your all to blame  haha.

Buddy was very good too ... 2. 32 minutes to be exact lol.  Great team effort you guys, should be proud of your selves smile

Hi Jim, left comments on Sound Cloud, great song written by your once again smile  I have to say, i think i prefer it sung with the chords of the first song rather than the G chord, i thought it may have been a little to deep for you voice?  where as the original song the chords seem to suit your voice better ..... just in my opinion smile  But either way great song, lyrics fab once again smile

Anymore suggestions?   I thought there would be heaps of suggestions as plenty of great songs from these era`s.

I miss you too Bill and Dondra .................. come back............................:)

Great cover mojo, you nailed it once again.
Yeah will be interesting to see if anyone does any Milli Vanilli songs ..... i didn't have a clue who they were before this.  Guess your not going to be doing any of their songs from your comment?

Zurf ........... don`t worry, be happy, everything's gonna be alright,  ........... all era`s  of music will be covered over time and over different months (but not necessarily month after month) smile

We are looking for TWO SONG Suggestions for the month of April.  We are wanting ONE SONG from the 1960’s and the SECOND SONG from the 1980`s.

It can be ANY SONG of YOUR CHOICE, a band, a solo artist, any genre, whatever takes your fancy, whatever you like.

This time we will be picking your suggestions Out Of The Hat.

READY, SET, GO!!!

Up now

For our March FSOTM, we put it to you to vote and there were two votes for Wish You Were Here.  All other songs mentioned only had one vote however there were two mentions for Milli Vanilli.  So looks like they are the chosen songs for March.   As there was no mention of which song from Milli Vanilli,  you can perform any song of your choice as long as it is a Milli Vanilli song.

WISH YOU WERE HERE

Here`s a possible Chord page to use: http://www.chordie.com/chord.pere/getso … e.2.chopro

Here is a YouTube link David Gilmour:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvOe7q5MDOw

From Wikipedia:   Wish You Were Here is the ninth studio album by the English rock band Pink Floyd, released on 12 September 1975 by Harvest Records in the United Kingdom and a day later by Columbia Records in the United States. Inspired by material the group composed while performing around Europe, Wish You Were Here was recorded during numerous recording sessions at Abbey Road Studios in London, England.
Wish You Were Here was an instant commercial success (despite the fact that Harvest Records' parent company EMI was unable to print enough copies of the album to satisfy commercial demand), and although it initially received mixed reviews, the album has since gone on to receive critical acclaim. It appears on Rolling Stone's lists of "The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time" and the "50 Greatest Prog Rock Albums of All Time". Band members Richard Wright and David Gilmour have cited Wish You Were Here as their favourite Pink Floyd album, and many critics and fans have considered the album to be the band's magnum opus.

MILLI VANILLI

No Chord Suggestions:  Sorry no chord suggestions for this, as it depends on which song you choose.  However as you know, Chordie does have a great search engine for songs, so depending on which song you choose, do your own search.

Here is a YouTube link and example of Milli Vanilli:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdSmokR0Enk

From Wikipedia:  Milli Vanilli was a German R&B duo from Munich. The group was founded by Frank Farian in 1988 and consisted of Fab Morvan and Rob Pilatus. The group's debut album Girl You Know It's True achieved international success and earned them a Grammy Award for Best New Artist on 21 February 1990.[1] Milli Vanilli became one of the most popular pop acts in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Their success quickly turned to infamy when Morvan, Pilatus and their agent Sergio Vendero confessed that Morvan and Pilatus did not sing any of the vocals heard on the record. The pair decided to return the Grammy awards and asked they be given to the real vocalists.[2][3][4] The group recorded a comeback album in 1998, but Rob Pilatus died before the album was released.[5]

Ok, Off You Go And Get Started!

Thanks Grah1, i enjoyed trying to perform this song of yours smile

Yep know the feeling Grah ........ life gets busy sometime for sure smile

Ok...... I am in catch up mode with songs.  I have put up my attempt at the song `Cloak of Invisibility`.  It was a little bit of a rush job, so the beginning is a bit to fast and i did hit a bum note lol.  Guitar playing not the best either but i enjoyed trying to play and sing this one.  I like the meaning behind it.  Wouldn't mind improving on this one when i get the time.  https://soundcloud.com/ukulelejan/cover … visibility
