Whoah, hold the phone!  LOL!  I know I may seem like a big shot here with my Moderator title and all wink but I've never much though of myself as something wonderful.  I'm just a girl who likes to sing, who picked up a guitar for the sole purpose of not losing the campfire sing alongs and is still playing primarily because ... I like to sing and the guitar gives me "somebody" to sing with instead of just the radio.  I appreciate all the "somebody" comments though!  I LOVE this Chordie family!!!!  I have to admit, I've been a bit down in the dumps so I guess that negativity may have squeeked out a little.  I promise to try not to let it happen again!

Now... Bluejeep... inquiring minds want to know... how am I part of the reason you're here and still playing?  Oh man, did I get famous and not realize it????!!!  smile

Hmmm.... I've really only been to one open mic and done some stuff on YouTube, plus I'm a chick, so it's not for the chicks... um... I don't know.  My Dad did it at campfires and such, and in school I was singing solo's during chorus concerts, so I guess just because "If you're good at it, you should share it with others".  So, the sharing I do with others of music is because they seem to want to see it/hear it/etc.  I picked up the guitar for the purpose of keeping the campfire music going while it seemed Dad couldn't... but that hasn't really happened.  I don't know.  I do get a good feeling when people like what I do, so maybe it's for that good feeling of being "somebody" even if I'm still a nobody.

Shania Twain

I used to drive my hubby's jacked up Jeep (80something, the "pre-wrangler" CJ I think?) around when he'd take the Van out of town for work, I had to climb into that dang thing and wear something to keep my hair from going in my face because there were only soft doors w/o windows and a soft top, it was a beast, monster truck style  Big Yellow Jeep ... Pix, I think you need to write a Jeep song while your hand is healing. wink

hmmm... I just checked and I have 22 subscribers to my YouTube page... so, MAYBE I have a couple more than just four fans although I think some of my subscribers have done so out of pity, or maybe to laugh at me, or perhaps just because they are family and I've forced them to do so LOL!  Nonetheless... it's uploading on YT now so it should be available very SOON for my dear internet speed disabled fans at:  http://www.youtube.com/mekidsmom

edit to add available Milli Vanilli style (lipsync to the recording I uploaded to soundclick).  It's been a while since I've put my actress hat on, but I think I did ok.  LOL!

Welcome too the site dave, tall and big is a good thing ( baseball football, etc. ) I am on the short side aka Fun Size.

As the brunt of many a short joke, I haven't heard that one yet.  I think I might take that and use it, instead of "vertically challenged"... I am "fun size"!  LOVE IT!

I WANT TO GO!  Alas... I don't think I could afford the trip, nor would my back be happy taking the drive there and back once a month (can you imagine driving all day Saturday to play for an hour and a half, then drive all night Sunday?).  Good luck with everything Zurf!!  I think it's a fantastic thing you are doing to get a bunch of folks together smile

I'm going to blame it on netzero... and realize that I have a personal obligation to you to put everything on youtube else you don't really get to hear it... and since you are one of the crazies that pump me up with compliments on my voice, I have to oblige.  LMAO!  Perhaps I will be able to do this today.  No American Idol for me though... I wouldn't stand a chance, and if Steven Tyler told me I suck as a singer I might never sing again.  That would not be good for all four of my fans!  wink

Hey Thunderbird!  Welcome to Chordie!!!  I'll second that Roger... Any friend of Cam is more than welcome here!

Best of luck... who knows, maybe someone will bite!  In the meantime, I'd suggest figuring out a new solo playlist just in case no one does.  Let us know how it goes!!!

no worries!  VERY cool teaching guitar via webcam!

I re-recorded it and the link should still work the same (uploaded the song in place of the one that was there).  Let me know if you still have problems, maybe youtube just works better for ya!  smile

Having raised Chickens at one point, I can completely appreciate what you meant Jim!  LOL!  I hope you have some fun today with your new toys!!  smile  I'll be attempting a few more recordings myself today during my whopping 2 hours of "freedom" while my littlest one is in Pre-K

Dino - I just have to NOT be in a rush to record, get my surroundings all set up, mic where it belongs, and do a little more editing.  Don't you worry though, I promise I will do this again and have the recording better.  MAYBE even youtube instead of just soundclick.  I still haven't tried hooking my zoom upto the computer and using it as a mic WHILE doing video.

Jeff - THAT is an AMAZING compliment.  THANK YOU so much!  smile

That a girl!  That's what I'm talking about!  Wow, there is sure a lot of emotion to the words and I can hear it in your voice.  I think that most of the time the best songs come from somewhere within that we don't express except in the words of a song.  Nice job.  Thanks for taking the time to do this because I never heard it in my head the way you did it and your way was much better than what I was hearing in my head!  My only comment would be that your emphasis on the chorus and putting it in the song four times makes it a pretty long song, but then again, that is what strikes me as the true subject of the song because hurt and fragility scream out in your chorus.

smile  Thank you for your kind words.  As I read and re-read it a few times, I agreed with you which is why I chose to go ahead and do that quick recording as quickly as possible.  wink  It doesn't look anything like it sounds.  I truly don't know how to express thoughts like that except in song... I suppose that's a problem the "man" in the song also seems to have which makes me question the whole meaning behind the song right now.  BUT that is another story altogeather!  LOL!!

I also agree about the Chorus... it seems as though it's too much, but then... it's where the verses make more sense.  I was thinking of cutting out the verse that starts "Though trials and tribulations" but I really like the line "yesterday you loved me and last night you broke my heart." ... hmmm... maybe I can switch a few of the other lyrics up.  What if I took that verse out and put the one line I like where it reads "I just can't live like this no more" ... it wouldn't shorten it a LOT but it would get it down a little from SIX FREAKING MINUTES!  LOL!

I can honestly say, I've NEVER EVER had a poem, short story, or song come into my mind so quickly and be "completed" in less than 2 hours total ... I had another verse that was there too that I completely scratched.  I guess as a poem it would have been quite long!  LOL... perhaps I could go on forever writing sad stuff.  As I look back on some of my writings over the years that I've saved, my best stuff was always rather miserable.  SIGH!

absolutely horrible, and do not feel bad for saying it Z... I thank the Lord each day that it's not us when I read things like this.  We've had enough, but I can't imagine going through something as terrible as that and seeing your child in that condition.  Bless that family.

wow, you guys are quick!  ha ha!  Ok ok... so I went ahead and did a REALLY quick recording and posted the link above the song on the original post.  It needs some serious work.  I kinda came up with this in a VERY SHORT time frame today... so, take a little pity on the quirks.  smile  THANKS GUYS for your kind comments, and I really would love a little constructive criticism too!  smile

I did an online search and couldn't find any chords or tabs for the song.  Sorry!  Maybe someone else will pop in here with something.  It does appear that you can buy the score however if you want it badly enough.  good luck!

Amie by the Pure Prairie League ... even though they spell my name wrong (ha ha) the song still seems to fit in with the type of confused men I always end up with in my life.  LOL!
