At Zurf's request, here are a few of my favourites in the current Aussie country music scene.
Adam Harvey, Troy Caesar-Daly, Sarah Storer, The McClymonts, John Williamson, Amber Lawrence, Becky Cole to name a few.
Many more can be found at Australian country music artists.

It's been a while since I have participated in any discussions but I still check in regularly. My playing days are coming to an end, old age and very sore joints. I still like to read forum comments and keep up with goings on.
I would dearly love to attend one of Amy's get togethers but I feel I may have left my run a bit late, never mind, I still enjoy life as it is.
As a follower of country music, I would encourage like minded fans to have a listen to some of the Australian artists in this genre. The country music scene here is going gangbusters these days with many young performers jumping onto the bandwagon.
So sad to hear of Dino's passing, we swapped many e-mails over the years, discussing heaps of topics.
Rest in peace my old mate.
On that sad note, I'll finish up. Take care folks and enjoy the moment. There are no garrentees of there being another one.

My deepest condolences JJJ. I understand the pain. I have lost 2 immediate family members to cancer in the last 2 years. My mother and brother.
You will share sympathy with a lot of folks and family but you can't share grief. This is for you alone.
Stay strong as others look up to you to do so
PM me any time if you think I can help

Good for you Dino, the Ipad is a great little gadget. I have a windows desktop at work and have also been provided with an Ipad for when I am out of the office. I am able to hop between the two now easily but has taken a while to reach this stage. The best advice that I can give is not to compare the two systems. They are quite different as I am sure you have worked out already. Stick with it, you will win in the end.
There are plenty of tutorials on Ipad on the web, check a few out.

Zurf, I'm hearing you. Let me tell you about my water problems.
My wife and self are presently camped in our trailer at a place called Yallakool Dam in the wine region of Queensland. My problem is that with visiting local wineries, wine tasting and all, I have only been able to catch 2 Golden Perch and a bucket full of Red Claw (craw dads?) in the dam due to time constraints. To add to my woes, I have had to spend my evenings strumming my new Fender 00 traveller and sipping the days purchases as opposed to hitting the water. At the moment I am struggling with the pressure I am under, however, a return to work next week should cure the dilemma.

Happy days

Thanks folks,
Zguitar, the ole ticker is OK but at reduced capacity. A few serious lifestyle changes had to be made but that was easy when you consider the options.
My Guitar playing has taken a backseat to other things going on in life, however I have found a renewed energy over the last month or so and guitar is back on the priority list. Fingers are sore now.
Tenement Funster, no, not me. The bushy on the fishing show is an imposter. Haha

Hello Folks,
whitewater55 was the next recipient for the picks but if I read the above e-mails correctly, Topdown has called in the picks (Supreme powers recognised) to show around at the Chordiestock get together at his place in February.
Tops, could you e-mail me your address and I will send off the picks package to you ASAP. Can I suggest that once you are finished with the picks, you send tham on to whitewater55 so he does not miss out all together.
Cheers for now

Hi all, sorry about the delay in forwarding the picks but I have had a few personal issues to deal with here lately.
I was in a guitar shop yesterday and looked around for things to put in the picks package, but found very little that was not already included. I will visit another shop next week in a different town and see what I can find to put in the package and hopefully get it sent off by the end of the week.

Folks, thank you all for the kind words. Although we had a rough time over Xmas, everything seems to be OK health wise for me now. My Doctor said yesterday that my BP is excellent and that all appears good. A more thorough examination including ECG and ultrasound will be conducted in 3 months time. I will be on blood thinners and a few other drugs, probably for the rest of my life, but I am happy with this as the rest of my life was looking a bit shaky just over a week ago. I felt so elated after leaving the Doctors yesterday that I went and bought a new Maton 12 stringer (model EM425c for those that want to check it out on the Maton website) so happy NGD for Bushy.
A belated merry xmas and happy new year to all and happy birthday to Amy.

Hello all and merry exmas
This is what I did for Xmas.
On Monday morning about 3.30am, I was awoken with a great deal of pain and very shallow breathing. By the time my wife drove me to the nearest hospital, I was in pretty poor shape I am told. Once this hospital had stabilized my condition, I was put in a helicopter and flown to Brisbane. On arrival at Brisbane Hospital, I was rushed into O.R. And had three stints placed in an artery in my heart via a cut in my wrist. At around 4.30pm, I had another scare, so of to O.R.again where another stint was placed in another artery in my heart via a cut in my groin.
A bit sore and tender today but feeling very healthy otherwise.
To lie back on a table and watch a Doctor on a flat screen TV poking around in your heart is in nerving to say the least
Feeling good now and a chance of going home tomorrow.

Hello all,
I did receive the picks from Jets some time ago and asked Chordians to e-mail me if they wanted to be next to get the picks. One person was first to e-mail me and I have replied asking for their mailing address. To date there has been no reply, so everyone that asked to be next should check their mail, and if they have mail from me, please reply.

Some of you folks need to slow up a bit. I can add songs to my song book on an IPad, open song books on IPad and everything else I can do with Chordie on a desk top.
Have the song you want to place in your songbook open, scroll to the bottom of the page, see the button that says "ADD To My Songbook", try hitting that.

Thanks everyone for your kind words once again. Has been a hard time around here lately, and just when we are becoming able to accept what has happened, my Aunt (my mums sister) died today. She had been in care for a few months but died quite unexpectedly today. A lovely, dignified lady that was very close to my wife and myself. Another death in the family in a month is tough to take, however I should not moan too loudly about things I suppose, I am still able to type these few words.
Cherish the time you have with loved ones, we never know what is around the corner.

Zurf, thanks for posting the photos for me, very kind of you.

Pete, you will probably win the bet on the power peg thingy. I have never seen one before.

For the heck of it, I am playing a tune on each of the loose picks one at a time. This was a stupid idea, there must be hundreds of picks in the package but I will stick with it. I have also come to realise how important a comfortable pick is to your own playing style. Some picks are really quite difficult to play with.
I am rounding up stuff to add to the package, so it will be on its way again soon.
