Sounds like something one of my kids would say. I don't know where they get it from but it sure is amusing to here some of the things they come up with!

Sounds like Elixers are not the magic string that music stores would like you to believe. I use uncoated Martins, about $6 a pack and never have any trouble with string breakage. Sure they tarnish and go dead quicker but the cost a bunch less and I get new strings more often, and new string day is a great day in my opinion.

I have several inexpensive guitars and one that falls into the cheap crappy category. Its a squier by fender accoustic and also the biggest piece of junk, trying to be passed off as a real guitar, that I have ever played. I spent over a year of my life trying to learn on that thing and I am just waiting for the right time to smash it on something. When that day comes I promise it will be a good day. Hey toots, do you think the kid next door to you would be willing to break another guitar over his sisters head?

I don't know what you mean by at my own speed but the chord changes do not look too fast in the song but the strumming will be tough to master. If you like it and really want to learn it I don't think it would be that hard. Just listen to it over and over again until you have the rythem stuck in your head and sit down and try to duplicate it. Repeat this process over and over again until you get it. Also don't try to sing it until you can play it all the way through. Once you master playing the song then you can add in the singing. It has taken me long periods of time to learn songs I have heard most of my adult life but once you develop a system to learn songs that works for you it will become easier to add new songs to your play list.

I can probably name 30 beers that I like, as a matter of fact I cant think of one that I don't like, I mean we are talking about beer here. As far as warm beer I will have to disagree with you on that one. For me the colder the better, You know you have them right when little ice chunks form at the top when you open the beer.

I usually play Martin Marquis strings. I have tried all of the coated strings (Elixers, D'addaro EXP, and Earnie Ball) but I do not like any of them. I went in to buy some strings and asked the guy at the shop what he played and of course he said Elixers. I told him I did not like them and showed him the strings I usually buy. He suggested D'Addario's for a similar sound but longer life. In fact he said they have to change the strings on their Martin guitars (at their expense) just to keep them playable for customers but Taylor sends a rep around regularly to keep their guitars strung with fresh strings at no charge to the shop. I have not put them on yet but maybe the D'Addario's will be the strings that get me off the Martin kick.

I have seen people on Youtube put the lit cigarette in between the string and the headstock. It does look cool but not cool enough to start smoking just to do it. Oh well I guess I will have to find another way to be cool.

I will never forget that day, I was stuck at work and my wife was at home less than a month away from delivering our first child and she was very scared about what was going on. Every year  9/11 reminds me  to be thankful for every day I come home from work to my family, so many people lost that opportunity on that day.
