I think Guns N' roses are the best band ever.

Best bands ever and why (in no particular order)

The Beatles--most of their recordings were done live on one take. That's almost unheard of today.

Ten Thousand Creatures (Toronto indie band 2003-2007)--you can't help but dance and the lyrics have a new meaning everytime you hear them.

Sonic Youth--some of the most innovative use of tunings ever.

Smashing Pumpkins--okay the last two albums sucked but the first four were awesome. Mainly because of the drums.

CSNY--getting four guitar parts all working together is pretty difficult.

The Pixies--without the Pixies hair metal would still be popular.

Nirvana--mainly for the ability to combine genres and for being able to keep sych heavy music so melodic.

The Falling Trees (Toronto indie band 2005-present) this band is awesome because I get to play in it.

hi...i think the best band would have to be the dixie chicks...either them or Hinder.

I think American Chaos Theory from Carbondale Illinois are by far the best ever. If you don't beleive it check them out on myspace. (I know it was a shameless plug <img src="images/smiley_icons/icon_razz.gif" border=0 alt="Razz"> ) Actually I agree the Beatles are the all time top. I also think the Stones, Guns n Roses and the Doors are up there.

This is a very hard one to tell.

I think concerning influence: THE BEATLES.

But the strange thing is that all important BRIT-POP bands, were definitely influenced by the "neglected, because of black performers, they started to play blues and rock & roll, bands like The Animals, Fleetwood Mac, in the Peter Green years, with songs like Dust my Broom, Oh well, and same with the stones if you take the time to listen to their first albums.

So BEST BAND: The Beatles.

BEST INFLUENCE: USA blues (boomerang effect)

BEST SOLO PERFORMER and inspiration of every guitarplayer in the world BAWB DYLAN.

I think it would have to be The Grateful Dead. Not only are they the greatest live band in history, there is no other band that created a whole culture based entirely on music.

there pretty awsome i like nirvana cause they play alot of different music i mean they got music for wen ur partying they got music for when ur trying to sleep they got heaps of different music

i'm not really into the old stuff or stuff that's technically brilliant.

i just like what sounds good and i don't like it when people say 'you have to like this band because everyone else does'( which has been said about the beatles).

on these grounds i have to say the best band ever is(or was) the libertines................or radiohead.

i won't bother justifying either of these bands because i don't think i could do them justice but these are my top 2 best bands ever.

Impossible to answer cos its all about opinions......like life...but for me "Southside Johnny and the Asbury Dukes"  take some beating
