A new one I've written today, hope you like.

Please note, I'm tuned a half step down these days.

Please note that the chord shown as xxx is the one I referred to in my other post in general chat. I don't know the name of it :-s

You play it like this though:

e  3
b  3
g  0
D  0
A  3
E  x

As soon as I learn the name I'll edit this. Probably......maybe......well, we'll see!

Edit to add: The mystery chord is now known as Gsus4. Thanks a million to my friend for life Roger G :-)

Ok dokey guys, like it says on the tin....if anyone can help with this name you'll be a friend for life. It's fingered (ooh-er) like this

3
3
0
0
3
x

Thanks a million in advance my ever helpful fellow chordians. This chord is in a song I've written tonight and would like to post this but can't until I've got the chord name sussed (or sus4'd ha!), my OCD tendancies just won't let me half ass it!

Mark

Nice work Gill. Very nicely done....I assume you and your daughter will be going out for dinner every night now if this is the type of inspiration she gives you!

Lovely stuff!

Hehehe, like it Roger!

That's a great story about the little one and so nice to hear your words about encouraging her as long as she loves it. A proper parenting lesson for the "pushy parent" types that I dislike so much.

It's said that children are a reflection on their parents so you must be extremely proud, you're doing a great job with your little one judging on this! Hurraaah!!!

JW, BV, thanks for commenting and having a look. Much appreciated.

Just a quickie, this one has actually be re-named from "When I Least Expected" to "What's Begun"....no real reason other than I was told to! Hahaha.

Cheers,

Mark

Dead easy to play this one.  Please note, I'm tuned down a half step these days.

You can see it played on my YouTube channel now at:

Hope you like. Please comment etc if you get a chance.

Very kind guys. And also slightly embarrassed to admit this but if Alvee hadn't posted a comment on my YouTube page about this thread I wouldn't even have known it was here. I posted this last night after a few "celebratory" drinks with my friends and then forgot all about it. Looks like the Rock n Roll lifestyle has arrived early!

But seriously, thank you so much for your comments. Although I was ahem, tired and emotional when I wrote the post last night I meant every word. I would never have had the confidence to even audition for the band if it wasn't for this site and the support this whole cyber guitar community gives. It's awesome.

Looking forward to seeing a few chordians at a gig in the future if you can make it!

Evening all,

Soooooo, I've been messing about with guitar for about 4, almost 5 years now. I've added some vocals to this too, as soon as I possibly could. I love singing and playing so everything is great.

However, I now find myself in the massively intriguing position of having been given the position of frontman of a Glasgow based band called theCore. The band are long running and very well rounded. The prospect of fronting up the band is v exciting.

I've talked about this sort of thing many many times and I genuinely can't believe it's actually here. I can honestly say that without the support and advice of all members of chordie I genuinely would not have had the bottle to go for this. So thank you a million times to all those who have read, contributed, participated or even just read the posts in the forum. Your input is greatly appreciated.

I'll keep everyone posted re gigs and outings etc. I just wanted to say a big thank you for all the feedback and assistance over the past few years. This is easily the best guitar site on the net and the friendliest community I've ever been glad enough to be part of.

Cheers everyone, and welcome to theCore!!!!!!

Yep, that'll do it buddy. Failing that roger G used to have a Friends of Chordie Myspace page which he posted songs on from time to time. Check that out if you need a hand and don't want to set up your own site just now.

Ark, Kenny, thank you both for the comments.

Kenny, I''ll maybe and try and get a few other guys together at some point. Love the way a song changes when you add other instruments and interpretations. Great shout!

Selson, v funny comment about calling DC Daddy. I don't "lol" on chat, but if I did, it would apply!

DC, well done on number 300. Quite something. I hope you have no thoughts of chucking it yet. I reckon in the next coupla years you'll be on here talking about number 1000. At this point I will appear and say "ha! I remember when you posted about number 300" You can consider me getting my told you so's in early!

I like this song too. Reads well, good job!

The words for this came spilling out late last night. Wrote them down and forgot all about it till this evening. Had a play, added some music to it and this is the result. It's now on my YouTube page if you fancy a look: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMxdjum9YHs

Sounding good Jim. Great job. I give it a month and you'll have a dozen on there.....look forward to it!

For me it's all pretty low tech BV. Generally just a webcam and a cheap mic. It's not even a music mic, just a wee chat mic, but it works ok to get an idea across. Then just stick the video onto YouTube. either that or whack it onto Myspace.

Be warned though, it's addictive. I was positively coy when I started all this a few years ago. Love it now....

Good luck, and let us know how you get on!

I agree with MKM, I think this seems a pretty catchy tune already. Looking forward to hearing a recording........they say patience is a virtue, alas not one of mine it seems. Bring it on Stran!!

Good job on this one Jim. Don't take it to heart that you've not gotten as much feedback as you'd ideally like. It maybe just takes a little time. I for one would like to hear a recording of this if you get a chance.

Also, I always think that if a song gets to just one person then it's worth writing. So well done. And keep them coming....
