I don't remember if I ever posted to this thread or not, so if I didn't, let me just say I'm old enough to remember when "The Dead Sea" was just sick.

Today is Bob Dylan's 70th Birthday, arguably the best song writer that ever lived. I've been lucky enough to see him a couple of times in my younger life. So many great songs he wrote and performed. One of my favorites is http://goo.gl/MmgRx along with so many more, hard to pick just one. So if you have a favorite one and want to post it, please post it here and lets all pay tribute to one of the true icons of music.

I myself have rarely seen anything offensive on here. Most people are very respectful no matter the age. I don't blame you for being protective as I have a Daughter to so I understand your concerns. But in reality she'll most likely see things much worse on TV, School or just in public in general. If she's interested in music it's a great idea to encourage it of course, and as a good Father, as you apparently are she'll be much safer here than most with the good people we have here on Chordie.

You know....I was thinking....All the people Willie Nelson has done a song with....why not with Clapton, could you imagine what those two could put together.

Could you guys imagine if by coincidence there was an earthquake on the east coast right now? Insanity would surely ensue. Rapture

Hi Bun...not trying to give  medical advice here by any means so please don't take this as such, only a story of my Wife who had back problems. Knowing what works for one doesn't always work for the other...but my Wife has surgery on hers and made it so much worse.. I'm not sure how you feel about Chiropractors but after seeing one he helped her a lot. I'm not saying it would help you, but seeing what it did to her I would certainly explore other avenues before surgery. This is only one case I know, I'm sure surgery has helped many people, just letting you know her story and of course you'd make up your own mind. Either way good luck to you and I hope it turns out that you get better and back to doing your job the way you know you can, and playing your guitar. Also let me say thanks for the job you do, not everyone is built for that and I admire what you do.

Best Wishes to you and your Wife Butch, I'm sure things will work out just fine for you. I think it's great that she not only has such an understanding Husband in you, but it will be good for her to have her Family around her during this time. Good luck luck yo you all and may God touch you in this time of need.

Just wanted to say Happy Mothers Day to all the Mom's on here, especially to MeKidsMom who works so hard on here and I'm sure even harder as a Mom. Moms are a very special thing in this world and while we as Men tend to forget, or take for granted  that fact we still love our Mom's everyday!

I own a Martin, I love it, but I've had my eye on a Taylor for sometime, even went to actually buy one, but walked away without it. I can't explain why I did that, guess that particular one didn't suit me, but again I love my Martin., and hope to one day bring home that Taylor.

Sorry guys, never mean't to stir the pot so much, was not my intention. My initial thoughts were that it was just refreshing to hear that from a Politician, who may be or may not be ....well more honest than another, and thought I might share it with everyone here.

Zurf and here I was thinking I might be the only Todd Synder fan on here. Your a yr late but a Band I follow called Goose Creek Symphony put on a thing each yr in Kentucky called Goose On The Lake, if I'm not mistaken Todd Snyder played there last year and at least one other I think. This even is right up your alley because it's outdoors on a private farm each yr, camping, great music, great people, no gates no police needed, just good people having a good time. Theres all kids of information online about it if your interested. Here's at least 1 link I think from Last Year http://goo.gl/05SW alsoheres a link to a Goose Creek song maybe you'll like them to http://goo.gl/P3S2Ghope you enjoy!

As to the original poster of this thread I'm not familiar with those songs you mentioned so I'm sorry I couldn't help, but Chordie is full of great songs from most any genre so jump in and start digging

When I posted this I had no idea it would spark so much debate, though debate is a good thing in our Democratic society right? I am a registered voter and I've always "at least in my adult life" tried to keep an ear and an eye on Politics so that I at least have some idea of whats about to come down the pike next. I don't pretend to understand it all, and I never will but I just wanted to share this with everyone and see what, if any interest there was. I love debate and opinions and if you have one...well state it, if this is of no interest then please just overlook it.

Wayne wondered if this belongs on a fun loving guitar site such as chordie and he may be right, maybe it dosen't, but again I never dream it would spark this much debate. It was not my intention to disrupt what this site is all about and that being a guitar or musical site. I love what this site has done for me and the help I've gotten on here and appreciate it all. I know this section was created for talk of most any topic, so if the moderators feel it should be taken off then please do so as I would not be offended at all, just thought the original post was a worth a listen.

Back to the Music!

Just read that today is Willie's 78th Birthday, any Chordians share the same birthday. Willie is a true American Icon, a legend. When the day comes his Martin Guitar"trigger"  belongs in the Smithsonian, or I'd be happy to take it, either way works for me. Happy Birthday Willie!
